the finale was alright but not the Finale I expected from the "Scandal " it seemed rushed like they just trying to rush it into 1 episode, I felt it should have been 2 I don't know may be is just me not accepting it's over😂😂

Darby's outfit is fantastic. It's so weird in one way but she looks so good. Probably only she could wear something like that. It's the difference between style and fashion. Fashion can be worn by anyone, but the style is personal. That attire would be very difficult to fit another person. But I find it fascinating in her.

It was pure doodoo. Only real and true Glads would admit this. Everyone else is saying, "oh it wasn't that bad" 😒
I think Cyrus' punishment was that he had to live with what he had become (and also, he lost all his DC power with that resignation). I think only people who loved/liked Jake would hate the finale... But I do wish it had been a bit longer. Most of the "wrap-up" bits deserved more screen time.

Unpopular Opinion: I didn't like the finale. I felt like it betrayed much of what I loved about the show. It always had a tinge of realism, in that to gain power, you had to do terrible things. Even if you were a good person, you had to be able to justify doing bad things for the "right reasons". I think that is how things work in real life- you don't get to the heights of power without committing some horrible sins. However, the finale seemed like they wanted people to have emotional closure, more than they wanted to honor that idea. They even went against it, with people trying to get forgiveness for their sins, and only the "good guys" escaped, while the "bad guys" were punished. If they wanted to go that BS altruism route, then they all should have gone down. Instead, they wrote a bunch of drivel, just so that they could give the outcome that stupid people would want. If I had my way, the people that tried to do the right thing would end up dead, or paying for their own sins (prison), while the truly evil people would be the ones who dodged the consequences- like in real life. Instead they did the opposite, which again seemed to betray the ideas that drew me to the show.
P.S. One thing in particular bothered me- Papa Pope's attack of conscience. I wanted him to warn Olivia of her folly, but then capitalize in order to take power back. Let Olivia take down Jake, and then take his rightful place as Command. They could take down B6-13, and he would just build an identical organization that still ran the country from the shadows. Anyway, him testifying and giving into the altruistic BS bothered me, because he was one of my favorite characters; the type who deserved to be in power, because he knew how it really worked, and could properly wield it. It was a shame to see him give in to sentimentality and appear so weak.
P.P.S. As a whole, I still like the show, even though I didn't like the last episode. There were a few other episodes I didn't like, but for every one I didn't like, there were 7-9 that I did. The same is true for a lot of my favorite bands- I don't love every song they make, but as long as I love the majority of their work, they are still counted among my favorites.
Did he really have an attack of conscience? Or did he know exactly what he was doing, all along? He played the senate like a fiddle, all to rescue his daughter (after he realized Rosen couldn't do it). He's always two steps ahead. He knew they wouldn't get him. 'You can't take Command"
Meh. Still unsatisfying. If you are right, I still wish he had let Olivia go down, take B6-13 with her, and built a new organization, knowing everyone would think the monster had been defeated. That is what Command would do; what you describe is still putting his sentimentality before the Republic, and his own Command. Essentially, even if you are right, Olivia did "take Command". He let her exploit his feelings to get what she wanted, and own him. Still unsatisfying to me.
Again, I fully admit that this is just one episode, and in the long run, it was a good show. Papa Pope is still a great character. I just like the real world "realpolitik" feel, and hate sentimentality, and the last episode gave up on what I loved, and gave in to what annoys me.
@@tarrynlea I thought that Eli "trick" was utterly ridiculous, embarrassing, and insulting. The Senate is going to arrest Jake instead because a black man can't be seen to be the orchestrator of the deep State?? Last I checked, this was not 1840...heck, it's not even 1940. That plot twist was pathetic.
It's all fiction. Besides there's nothing about mindlessly taking the lives of many people - the role papa pope played - that is justifiable.

Haven't seen the end of Scandal yet I have it on demand I watch sometime and rather and I do have it recorded but I feel it's sad 2 stop a program that is doing well, can't they be like the soap operas, I wish they go on for years and keep going strong. look at the Young and the Restless 45 years and still going strong I figured you stop a program when the ratings Get Low not when you're at your highest but she has the right to do whatever she wants it's her baby to do what she will. Thanks for entertaining us, keeping us on the edge, making us laugh, smile, cry. Sorry but not for leaving us. It hard when you lose a good, friend. Best of luck in all you do in the future. One year later, but I think they had to put him in prison so she'd be "forced" to ride off-camera into the sunset with Fitz. I liked Olivia with both men so, psychologically, her choice was easier to digest since I knew that one man was forced out of the running. I just wish when she saw him in jail that she had said that she did love him at one time...though she has said it over the years in other ways.
This series has it all. After it was over, I felt a huge emptiness. Shonda is an amazing woman. And the characters too.

Crush in' on Daddy Pope! His character is so sexy and brilliant! Love them all, but one of my other favs is Olivia. Kerry is married to former NFL player Asomugher, and they have 2 darling kids Isabel and Caleb.
