As a 90s kid this song made me believe that SRK and Kajol were a real life couple 😂
Me too...😊😊😂
Same here😂😂
And I always thought SRK had three wives. Kajol, juhi and madhuri 😅
I didn't think that but i used to belive that Jackie shroff and anil kapoor are real brothers 😂🤣😂
ua-cam.com/video/CYOjCkuNDro/v-deo.html
Who else was half nostalgic and half embarrassed 🤣🤣🤣
@@garimakilledar5810 and the see through shirt oh god🤣🤣🤣
Me. TBH, I felt really cringey and awkward watching the neck-kisses in this song. Usually there's just one or two, but in this song, there were way too many.
😂😂🤦
Me xD I was cringing xD But it brought back a lot of childhood memories!
Nostalgic
This song became the benchmark of romantic dream sequence songs. The chemistry of Shahrukh-kajol is so powerful that it feels like we are intruding on a private moment when seeing them.
I cannot believe that they didn't mention Sonu Nigam at all. It's his voice and Alkajis's voice that makes this song beautiful!

Imagine rick seeing that chubby boy grown up into Hrithik 😂😂

🤣
hahahahaha
This is what they tried to recreate in GERUA
What's with the Bollywood's fetish of recreating everything?
ua-cam.com/video/CYOjCkuNDro/v-deo.html
And they were able to recreate!😉
I kept thinking they had reacted to this song and then realised it was Gerua. 🤷🏾♀️
@@IAMSIKKU Nothing can match Suraj Hua Maddham. I infact, don't like Gerua at all
SRK dances shirtless in Jiya Jale: No big deal
SRK dances in see through shirts: NIPPPS!
ua-cam.com/video/CYOjCkuNDro/v-deo.html
In Humko Humise Chura Lo (Mohabbatein) there was a nipps scene...
Yess
See through shirts , double collars etc are actually mocked often. Making a guy male Caren I'd say .
This couple, this song and the locations they shot in, were so iconic during the 90s and hence, when Shah Rukh and Kajol paired up again after years, they tried to kindle the nostalgia by making "Gerua"( though gerua was a great song in itself, this one still is the best)
each song is one of a kind. suraj hua maddham has nostalgia and is an older song and fits their paring then. gerua is iconic for the modern times
This is the one song you couldn't watch on the tv with your mum and aunts cause the neck kissing DAMN. Also its so nice to see western people appreciate and react to songs that made up my childhood like its something I never knew I needed.

SERIAL NECK KISSER *
That was the first thought that came to my mind even before watching the video thanks to Desi Revisits🤣🤣
SONU NIGAM be like:" What do i gotta do to be recognized by OSR? Shall I leave my job?"
He's actually recognised by them, that's why they weren't provided his introduction. They are well aware of Sonu Nigam. #LeisureMartini
This was the first song that I remember being a "Sonu Nigam song". And hence the first song when I paid attention to singers and the playback voices instead of just looking at the video. He's got this valvety calming expressive voice I haven't heard in a long time now.
It took them nearly 10 to 15 songs just to recognize kishore kumar...
It happens
@@JaahnaviS Me being older at the time, I was elated to see Sonu Nigam finally was getting to sing in such a prestigious project. Up until that point, the bigwigs like Chopras and Johars were avoiding him. That finally changed with K3G. #LeisureMartini
Who can bring that Voice Texture to such a simple melody? It was a class singing, no lesser than that of Kishore Kumar or Rafi Sahab
Oh my god... When i heard the "kuch kuch hota hai" bgm, i had literallll goosebumps all over my body... Its been so long 😢😭 Kabhi kushi kabhi gham, kuch kuch hota hai,Main hoon na are all such iconic movies that only 90s kids gotta enjoy and love. I'm Canadian and I love these movies too! When I was in high school Kuch kuch hota hai was shown on a french speaking channel and other kids also enjoyed it! :)
I am not ashamed to say that I love this movie, and the goosebumps were there throughout the song....I have seen this film about 1000 times and I can watch again and again. Same with Kuch kuch hota hain.

I literally jumped when I saw u guys have reacted to Suraj hua Madham! SRK-KAJOL 's chemistry is just beyond wordsss. The magic they create on-screen is unmatchable... they are and they will always be the MOST POPULAR COUPLE OF BOLLYWOOD
the deal is about Kajol. she has great chemistry with everyone: Aamir, Ajay, Salman, Anil, Varun etc. she makes the onscreen relationships look like magic
@@elzash.8369 yes kajol is such a talented actress. But SRK is equally charming and wonderful actor❤ #loveSRK
The songs are so beautiful. Sonu nigam and Alka yagnik: I miss this pair. Their voices used to complement with each other. And the legendary duo of SRK-Kajol❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The love, chemistry, and sheer adoration that this couple--SRK and Kajol-- can show for each other just by looking at each other.... it's just magic.
A bedroom scene just can't replace that
This song is the most classic bollywood thing you can ever see. This is a romance anthem of every Indian couple. I am so nostalgic 🥺
No one can beat the intensity of SRK’s love scenes..his eyes pierces through u..
Intimacy scenes are actually connected to a very interesting historic moment in Indian cinema. So, the silent films era in the early 1900s saw huge popularity in Indian cinema, Indians in villages were watching Italian and French cinema and then Indians in urban India started accessing the motion pic camera technology and making movies. Since there was no way to merge moving images and sound (it took a few decades to develop playback and talkies films) the films were silent with a live orchestra playing in some cases.
Since Indians had already seen women on screen, kissing and wearing rather glamorous clothes, when we started making our own movies, the kinds of actresses who would do those roles were all Anglo-Indian and Jewish-Indian women, who weren't so conservative. They ruled the screens for nearly 20 odd years, and were comfortably doing intimate scenes.
With the advent of film playback in 1930s, with the first talkies films Alam Ara, the talking and singing actor was needed. Overnight, due to poor diction and an inability to speak and sing in Indian languages, these women actors who were superstars lost their jobs. The work went to another group of talented artists who had been socially ostracised by the British, calling them nautch girls for their dance and performance houses, and had been rendered social criminals overnight. These women were the Tawaif, Devadasi and drama groups, which sang and danced a lot for a live audience. They had great voices and great dancing skills, and would use elaborate seduction techniques to please their patron kings and nawabs. The new talkies industry employed dancer and singing women and their daughters, and also a lot of them were Muslim. Hence, a more dancey-singey, seductive, alluding type of grammar emerged, which was its own aesthetic. The middle class Indians were also turning "respectable" in demand for their independence, and cleaning up their act, so to speak (colonial shame due to cultural judgements received by the British) about dancing girls and a more fluid society that Victorian morality couldn't process) that the cinema was now a medium for their own morality and narratives of respectability. Despite this, actresses like Devika Rani and others were still doing kissing scenes in the 40s... But soon that trend of showing direct intimacy faded away, only to resurface in 2010 or so when the Indian cinematography act (censorship act) was mended. Interestingly, it the censorship act was also put in place by the British to both control immoral Indian culture on screen (Brits didn't like Indians watching intimate scenes on screen) and to curb any independence related propaganda on screen.
This comment deserves to be read by all.
Thanks for educating us.. hope OSR and stupid babies read this
Oh my! if my Cinema professors were as eloquent and to the point as you, I wouldn't have slept with one eye open through most of the lectures

They won't get feeling for this song but we indians exactly knows the feeling, emotions behind this song
This song. The actors. Their chemistry. EVERYTHING is so on point and so nostalgic 😍 I absolutely love it
Interview SRK: If you want to interview SRK one day, you absolutly have to watch some of his Blockbusters/ Classics. If not, you are not showing him the due respect. Among them are, "DDLj, Om Shanti Om, KGKG, Veer Zaara" and some other type of movies like" Main hoon na, Don 1+2, Ra One etc" to understand the diversity of the movies he has made.
Sonu nigam is a very underrated legend but still he is one of the greatest singer of all time.
Who said he is underrated? He is the King. I think you yourself have not explored him yet.
ua-cam.com/video/CYOjCkuNDro/v-deo.html
Can't disagree with you on this
@@PaulAllen6304 he is very underrated bcz now he is ignored by Bollywood totally from past 5 years. Earlier he was overshadowed by the legends like Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet bhattacharya, etc still he managed to give some of the best evergreen songs of Bollywood ever. Which is not bad to be overshadowed by such legends.
@@KuldeepSingh-ch7mg He was never overshadowed by anybody. He even had his separate songs in movies which already had Udit or Shanu as lead singers(for example film "Dhadkan"). Directors would improvise to have atleast one Sonu song. And he ruled Bollywood in early and mid 2000s, and moreover he was the voice of SRK on multiple occasions, what else does anyone want. There was once a time in mid 2000s, when literally every song that we heard was either sung by Sonu or had Sonu involved in it anyway(director, producer, etc).Truely underrated singers are Javed Ali, Sukhwinder Singh, Roop Kumar Rathod and to some extent KK.
The confectionary store line has context...in fact the whole scene before the song had context you needed to see the movie to understand :P
The double role SRK took on in those couple scenes was him imagining what her being part of his family would look like. Same with Kajol's double role in imagining her life with him. Anyway. you guys NEED to see this movie - one of the best and a very wholesome depiction of bollywood. And yes, SRK pours his life into those already fantastic songs, making them even better
CANNOT describe the scale of grandeur and nostalgia that comes with that theme!🕺🏻
no one was doing it like srkajol back then honestly they were the blueprint
Sonu Nigam recieved his first award for this song.. I still remember, I used to be his huge fan!!

U r actually encouraging these morons to react negatively about our movies.
I love this song!. It's way more romantic than kissing scenes. It depends on your preference or what u r used to. maybe becoz we have grown up seeing these movies, and for 90s kid these songs defined romance. Actors too used to do very well in showing that intimacy through songs.
This songs lyrics is so beautiful. with translation they lost charm and you too didn't seem focusing on lyrics. But I was hoping that u would read this particular line. "The ocean became thirsty, The night started to wake up. Even in the hearts of embers, There was a fire burning"
it depicts the sensuality of this song in one line.

I watched an interview of Kajol once. She said she's happy the movie won awards but what she remembered most that she miscarried her baby (either while of after shooting the movie). So sad.
Also she said that Ajay promised to take her to Egypt but he haven't fulfilled that promised yet (at least he hasn't by the time of the interview).

Always! I think we should ask who watches the first 2-3 minutes. Fortunately, there is always an ad at the end of the introduction and this can be seen as a yellow mark on the video timeline.
