    So happy I switched to Capture One a few years back. I take school pics of special needs children and not one of them can sit or stand in the same place from shot to shot. This feature is fantastic!

    So I tested the new Crop tool and its amazing. but why you give Pro users (all In Users) only basic version ? Ok it´s all about the money. (599 vs 299 Euro) But 299 is the maximum I think the most users a willing to play. The sad think is the Studio version of the crop tool gives me the controll I wish to have and makes it Pro. An Studioversion Capture One makes sens but only with tools like Backup, Naming, Selection by client and so on. That you crop down the Tools for the pro version make me sad.

      We recognize the value of AI Crop in your photography workflow. Our choice is not to restrict this feature, but to make it more accessible for most Pro users. We believe that a simplified version of this tool will benefit the workflow of most people and help create the best images ensuring our All in One bundle price holds the best value for the majority of the audience. For those who heavily rely on these advanced features, the Studio plan will provide the best value and comprehensive tools necessary for professional work.

      @@CaptureOne why not make The full AI crop an extra add on fee for us PRO users? Im willing to pay an extra add for that on a perpetual side but subscriptions just rub me wrong. No company takes into account every month if all the software and apps we use are subscription base its just taking money out of everyones pocket instead of letting us enjoy the software and flat fee with uncropped features. Been buying perpetual for years now and I literally just bought the pro version 15 minutes ago. It just seems like we should get at the full AI crop option to buy or something close..

    I wish we had the "studio" tools (new crop ai, and barcode scan) on the Pro Version.
    How terrible it is to earn in BRL . I wish we could afford the studio version on my business.
    Unfair trade on this - specially for those who work in 3rd world countries where our currencies worth nothing,

    I was gladly paying C1 subscription for years with understanding I am paying for getting new features. I imagine I brought more than a few new users into C1. But now some useful features are behind a higher paywall??? This does not feel right at all. What exactly Pro users are paying for now?

      Capture One Pro users still get AI Crop, Save Destination, Tethering and AI performance improvements etc. You can read our release notes here: support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/articles/18154487486877-Capture-One-16-4-0-Release-Notes

      @@CaptureOne respectfully let me disagree. Pro users did not get AI Crop. They got something half baked, barely useful. Here is a feature request that can be done with barely any "AI" - make a button AND keyboard shortcut to apply a specific crop factor to the image and optionally make a guess if vertical or horizontal crop more appropriate. "Pro AI Crop" is not smart enough to do that and it takes way too many clicks to get there anyway.
      Tethering features are nice, but many more people use crop feature than tethering.

    • @realniteart

      And this might be not really relevant because a real AI cropping is coming to all photo editing software.

    Already bought the All in One Bundle to get all the updates. But instead of getting at least some of these new features as an update you invented a new version where all the cool updates go into. I´m not amused. That's not funny! I mean I think that 90% of the bundle users always work in a studio-like environment. So which Updates will I still get with my all in one bundle? A new Ai mask tool that finds unicorns in a photo automatically and masks them?

    • @CaptureOne
      @CaptureOne  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi Markus, We believe our new Studio features may only be relevant for some users, so we've kept our Pro software straightforward. However, we are not reducing Pro's capabilities; we are only enhancing them. Capture One Pro users still get AI Crop, Save Destination, Tethering and AI performance improvements etc. By separating our software into two, we can be more intentional about which features we develop for each audience ensuring our All in One bundle price holds the best value for most customers.

    Nice new feature and i tested it already but if i create a reference und use it on many different persons it doesent always work as intended. I know this probably isnt the right usecase but it would be nice to do my cropping of lots and lots of headshots already in C1. Maybe you could refine it a bit more...

    This feature should be in the Pro version. Creating a new Studio version for the cool updates it is not fair with your loyal pro subscribers. Very disappointing.

      Yeah, C1 has been going down a bad road with their business model. The dark side. They should be more like Davinci Resolve. What they've been doing is so manipulative. Very Adobe-like.

    599 per Year for the Studio version ??? So Capture One will in future will only get the basic new feature and the full power you only get in the Studio version. I hope i´m wrong. If this happen I quit and change my workflow. And I hope you didn´t cancel the support for Capture Pilot. This feature is the reason I change many years ago to Capture One.

      Do you own and operate a high volume studio where your clients need to make decisions between several variants of a particular shot in different areas of your studio or remote locations? If not, then you don’t need to upgrade to the Studio version and Pro will be fine for you. If you do need those features, or think you might in the future, then the subscription is a tax deductible expense for your business. If you’re not a business at all, or are just a hobbyist, then you don’t need any of these features.

      @@bobrob8839this is his point I think. Most people don’t work in that scenario but the features for example face detection for cropping may have been useful to everyone including wedding photographers. But a watered down version of that tool is put into capture one pro. Don’t get me wrong I just tried it and it works well but it’s a crop tool. I think he’s thinking the same as me that from now on studio will get all the major tools and pro will get watered down versions. 16.4 is a major release version that brings new features and the 16.4.1 etc are just bug fixes and improvements if you go off the livestreams. If that’s the case a major update for a crop tool and faster masking. Masking speed should have been 16.3.9 as it’s just an improvement. So a crop tool is basically it… I could be completely wrong though but I’m looking like everyone else is right now really confused 🫤

      @@chrissallis5222 I agree there is a potential for 2nd tier versions of software to be hindered simply to upsell, but if you’re an every day high volume studio, that’s just a cost of operating a business. He replied stating that he does in fact run a studio like that, so this would be a worthwhile upgrade. However, his point, and yours, is well taken.

    Is there a tutorial for displaying the full image and cropped image on different monitors as displayed in this video? Would be great to utilize for HMUAs on set.

    Hello. I was on a shoot the other day and the photographer I was working with showed me a trick where I could adjust the crop on multiple images at the same time just by selecting them all, and holding "shift" as I made the changes. It was mind blowing. I'm now trying to do it on my own computer, and it doesn't seem to be working. "Edit all selected" is enabled, and I have no clue what else it could be. Any help would be much appreciated!

    • @CaptureOne
      @CaptureOne  20 днів тому

      Hey Alex. The crop wouldn't be adjusted all at the same time. They probably adjusted one, selected all, held down shift and clicked the little UP/DOWN arrow in the crop tool itself. This would then copy and apply the crop.

      It is not different crops shown at the beginning of the video. Screen on the left shows the full captured frame, screen on the right shows the results of the applied AI crop. Studio has a new feature using multiple viewers, to which you can assign different behaviours.
      Here's a tutorial on this:

    I think AI auto-cropping is an incomprehensible pricing policy that only exists as a studio feature. I just don't understand why you have to pay to upgrade to a studio to get the convenience of cropping.
    It feels like a waste of money I've paid so far.
