    I watched your video showing the installation of the fog light in a Highlander. I removed the three screws from the plastic cover as my hands and arms are larger and it is the first time I have tried to change the fog light bulbs. One thing I had a little trouble with was removing the plug from the old halogen as I could only get one hand in there and I wasn’t sure how the connection release worked. I also forgot for a few minutes about the hard plastic tabs on the foglight housing that make it impossible to put the bulb in ( or remove for that matter ) while the wiring harness is connected. I used an H16 foglight LED and the light is a definite improvement over the 5 year old OEM halogen bulb. I will check in your description for 5he H11 for the lowbeam as I have tried 3 different LED H11 bulbs that wouldn’t fit or allow the dust cap to be put back on. I didn’t notice if you put the dust caps back on.

    to see how well the LED bulb lights the road in front of the vehicle, compared to the stock halogen bulb, you need to go to a completely dark area with no wall, and show side by side comparison. Do your LED bulbs blind oncoming drivers? Thank you

    Great video thanks for sharing, do you get any heat issue from the drivers of the LEDs, like do they cause any issue with any of the vehicle parts inside the engine bay?

    • @trackpalmer
      @trackpalmer  3 роки тому +3

      I do not have any heat issue. This particular design prevents overheating. Notice that the ballast is separate from the LED and the LED has a cooking fan. I tested it by touch after hours of driving and it's always cool. Furthermore, LED runs cooler than regular halogen bulbs. Hope that helps. Subscribe 👍

    I installed led low beam headlight bulb in my 2018 highlander and it creates some problem like fist thing i notice transmission down shifting problem. when it downshift it downshift in 3rd gear.. it hard to explain this. engine rpm stay higher. going 60 mph engine rpm with halogen bulbs stay at 1500. with led bulb installed going 60 mph rpm stay at 2000. why ?
    is led bulb messing up ECU ECM PCM ?

      @@ashishpatel1685 I don't have to. If you did your ECU would have been reset and the ECU would have adjustment based on the how the vehicle is running. The LED is just a list that used 12 volts. It doesn't send signals to the ECU to make adjustments. The worse case scenario is it blowing a fuse. You can reinstall your old bulbs and see the problem is still there for a couple days.

    • @trackpalmer

      Changing the DRL is up to you. You don't have to. In regards flickering, that depends on the quality of the LED. Ensure the LED you select works with a ballast. The sealight brand I use works well. It's small, quiet and trouble free for over a year now..

      @@randomrazr well the purpose of most led fans is to release heat from the unit instead of sucking in any air to cool off the led, so “blocking” the fan isn’t really an issue here. Plus, the rubber would absorb any offset heat. Either way, even if the LED was fan-less, the heat would have to escape somewhere and i’m sure these dust caps are designed to offset any heat distribution from the headlight.
