I did the same thing only TWO years ago with all my old gameboy/GBA boxes. Like somehow I kept them for over a decade and then I'm all of a sudden like "might as well throw these out now without doing any research at all". I'm an idiot lol
@@DeadlyPixels depending on the seller some ask collectors price some ask fair price then you got people who just want it gone ahahaha I found some dirt cheap games here and there i evan had someone tell me just take it plz lol i still have them money tho :)
For future reference here's how you find the real value of a game: Go to Ebay, type the name of the game in the search box and hit enter, near the bottom-left side of the page check "completed listings" under "show only", take the first 5 or so matching games with GREEN sale prices (signifying that they actually sold for that amount) and average them. This will give you a 100% accurate current value. For example, Ogre Battle 64 is currently valued at ~$40-$45 loose in good condition.
Other valuable and/or rare games worth noting: Stunt Racer 64 Worms Armegeddon Super Bowling 64 Transformers Beast Wars Transmetals Snowboard Kids 2 International Superstar Soccer 2000 Harvest Moon 64 Conker's Bad Fur Day Mario Party 3 Starcraft 64 Castlevania Legacy of Darkness Goemon's Great Adventure NFL Blitz Special Edition Most of these games are usually worth anywhere from $40 to more and can be tough to find.
i actually remember when i was 6 or 7 years old and being inside a Blockbuster and seeing a HUGE advertisement for Clayfighter on the wall... now I know why it was there...
Hey Guys! I want you to do me a HUGE favor by picking which episode of The Rarest I make next. Just click the little "i" circle in the top-right corner and vote on one of three options. Thank you for watching this episode and have a great day-night-evening thing!!!
Man it has been a while since i have been able to watch your content (my fault not yours) nice to see you are still going strong. Keep it up, great job as always. Also i approve of the new name card :)
That's what I wanted to say. Far as I know that is the rarest game for the system. Cause I know you had to order it online when the internet wasn't as easy to access as it is now.
They're actually both solid games. I've barely played the second attack, but from what I've gathered public opinion is much kinder than the reviews of the time.
As someone who owns two copies of Sculptor's Cut, your friend never owned the box. It was never sold in box. You could only RENT the game. The only way to buy it was to wait for Blockbuster to clear out their stock. At which point the box was gone or beat up and the instruction book was long gone. The ONLY Complete in Box copies are ones that got lost in back rooms in Blockbusters before they could be put on shelves. Hence the high asking price. When I bought my copies they were only $30 out of box. Now they're starting to fetch $300 and with good reason. This wasn't the only Blockbuster exclusive (Beast Wars: Transmetals and some bowling game also were if I recall) but it is the most desireable. The original 63 1/3rd had a TON of content cut for space limitations (the game was originally planned for a console called the M2 which was also cancelled). So much content that there is a character ON THE COVER ART that was cut (Lockjaw Pooch). They even REFERENCE it in the credits ("This animal was harmed in the making of this game"). Lockjaw and all cut characters (except Hobo Cop) were brought back in Sculptor's Cut at the expense of a few moves, frames of animation, and Claytalities. Also the gameplay was COMPLETELY changed to be less like Killer Instinct and more like Street Fighter Alpha resulting in a MUCH better game. Not GREAT but more competent than people think.
Out of the rare N64 games, i own a CIB "Conker's Bad Fur Day" and a loose "Orge Battle", while my bro has both Collector's Editions of the N64 Zelda games boxed.
hey Stan I have a question (one that's been bothering me for awhile) do you have any journalism or writing credibility because I swear the production value of these videos are on another level great stuff!
Wow this was one of the nicest comments I may have ever received! To answer your question, no I have no formal training, besides a volunteer job I had as a camera man for TV when I was a teenager. I actually sell auto-parts as my day job! :P Thank you for this comment though, you seriously made my day! :)
Also, throwing NFR (Not for Resale) games such as Yoshi's Story International Version on this list is a little imbalanced as they were never sold or distributed to the public, only limited numbers of them went to retailers for kiosk usage. It's like comparing granite to diamond. There are grey-cart variants of N64 games that are much rarer than most of the non-NFR games on this list as well that were actually sold to the public.
Kind of wondered what made something "valuable" just for being hard to find. Say I made a homebrew n64 game that I only made one copy of back in 1997, and its just an imitation Pong game built from scratch. Would this be prized at thousands of dollars today? I'm guessing it has to do with the company / franchise being little known at the time, so it under-produces (to anticipate low sales), and then when it strikes big later, earlier games no longer in production are sought to see "where it all began". So if a person famous in the game-development community (Notch, Minecraft) made a homebrew console game and sold 30 copies of it or something 20 years ago, it would fetch an ungodly fortune today. True about demos, they generally aren't available to everyone in every state like even some smaller-scale wide releases are, so the reaction isn't "Dammit, why on Earth didn't I buy it when I saw it?" so much as "Only available in a city in California? I'm on the east coast!" But regardless, collectors still want it for bragging rights. The gum stuck to one of the dev's shoes at the time may be worth something for the same reason.
Only if there are people willing to pay thousands for your game. There needs to be demand to go along with the supply to set a price. This is Economics 101 here.
Another rare N64 game you overlooked (like everyone else) is Stunt Racer 64. Stunt Racer 64 was originally to be published by Midway games, but near the end of development, Midway got cold feet and refused to release the game to stores. So the game was made exclusive to Block Buster as a rental around 2001. It's gone down as one of the biggest publishing blunders ever. Critics LOVED the game when they got ahold of it and speculated it would've sold like wildfire had it been properly released. You used to be able to grab copies for under $20 (When I got my copy), but now, good luck getting one for under $120... without the box, which is next to impossible to find. I grew up with the game and spent years trying to find one before a local used game store finally got one in stock. I snatched it at first opportunity and it's been the gem of my N64 collection since. Rarity of Stunt Racer 64 is actually on par with Clayfighter Sculpter's Cut. but the game was virtually unknown since its generic name had most people writing it off as a simple racing game. It isn't btw.
OMG i played the Second Attack I never knew it was that rare too bad that at the time i used to play Bomber Man Hero a lot and didnt like the concept fo second attack
To be honest though Conker's Bad Fur Day should be a honorable mention due to the facts that it: Came at the end of the N64's life span (early 2001), didn't sell that well when it initially released, and can be found today at a whopping $100 and that's being generous.
Some other rare games worth mentioning that aren't on the list for anyone interested in N64 collecting and their approximate loose price: Worms Armageddon: $150+ Super Bowling: $87 Conker's Bad Fur Day: $70-80 Starcraft 64: $50 Harvest Moon 64: $50 Goemon's Great Adventure: $40 Stunt Racer: $40 International Superstar Soccer 2000: $40 Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness: $40 NFL Blitz: Special Edition: $37 Snowboard Kids 2: $35-40 Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals: $35-40
What about Conker's Bad Fur Day???? I used to have that game as a kid (and I'm pretty sure I still have it somewhere) and now it goes for well over $100 bucks on its own without the box. It's really rare because not that many were released in the first place and because later on it got a huge following.
i've actually heard of clayfighters; sculptors cut, i saw it vaugely referenced in the classified information section a nintendo power issue where they were talking about cheats for the original.
Oh man how i love my 64! since i had it in childhood its been one of the best consoles ever for me. -Bomberman 2 didnt even got released here in Europe! -Same for Ogre Battle (thank god for wii virtual console!) -Woah! didnt know that Yoshi Demo! Good video, keep the good work and cheers from Spain!
I gave Bomberman the Second Attack to my best friend at the time for his birthday, and the very next gift he opened from his mother was a GameCube. I was so pissed off.
My friend gave me his PAL copy because he knew I collected and I was like...thanks man I always appreciate gifts. I had no idea it would instantly become one of the rarest pieces in my collection.
You forgot a few games on here that are both rare and valuable such as Majora's Mask Adventure Set and the Majora's Mask Gray Cart. There are other variations too but those are the first 2 that come to mind since both are generally 1k+ sellers and both are just as valuable if not more so then the Yoshi International.
I also have an idea for a video... since ECCC is going on, you should do "The Rarest Comicon Exclusive" covering anything from pops you can only get at the cons or just an item so obscure that you could find at a con but never after it
While it's definitely an interesting concept, I think I'd need to focus on something more specific. Perhaps one day if I get the opportunity to go to SDCC/NYCC I could do like a live in the field version of this?
Your channel is so underrated!!! My rarest n64 game is Banjo Tooie, that i payed 250 BRL (68 dolars) loose, but in perfect conditions (the label is perfect). Do you think it was expensive?
Mine is Banjo Tooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day and nowadays Flying Dragon is steaming high rocket in prize! Thank god i purchased them back in the day, now it would be freaking impossible. Here in Europe, Pal copies of certain games are expensive as hell.
Stan and Shane from Rerez are too underated. They definitely need more attention. And believe it or not. My rarest N64 game would be Duke Nukem 64, and Megaman 64. Duke Nukem cost about $60 with only three copies to be found, and $80 with Megaman.
When you mentioned Clay Fighters I shot over to my collection and found my copy of CF Sculptors Cut. I don't live in the US, nor do I know how I have this cartridge, but it has names of people I don't know written on it, and a ton of tape and wear and tear. Nevertheless, I have a loose copy of Clay Fighters Sculptors cut, so I guess that's cool
Stunt racer... more rare than SC. Now we’re on NFR’s? Majoras mask and DK gray both win that battle. Turok rage wars gray variant? Where does that place?
I had BM second attack. I also was able to sell it for $60 to a local game peddler. I was so surprised when it sold for so much. I did my research when I got home and was blown away how lucky I was to own a copy among its tight window release date. Luck of the draw I guess! The game was pretty good too.
whoa. I really liked Ogrebattle 64. I was surprised no one else was talking about it when i was a kid. Guess it makes more sense now that i know it was a rare game. I remember when I sold all my games i kept it because it was my favorite.
I purchased a loose copy of Ogre Battle 64 for $70 canadian dollars today at a local game store. Only time I ever saw one in person, still kicking myself for not picking up Bomberman Second Attack but I didn't have the $200 at the time to spend
Turok Rage Wars is pretty fuckin rare if you're looking for one in a grey cartridge. That version fixes a bug that makes it unbeatable in co-op mode, and was only given out to people who wrote to Acclaim about it.
Once you start to add the "Not For Resale" carts on to the list, then the entire list should be "Not For Resale" carts.
Agreed!
I wish that there were a separate video just for not for resale carts
I will forever be kicking myself in the ass for throwing out all of my boxes as a kid. I still have the manuals, at least, but damn.
I did the same thing only TWO years ago with all my old gameboy/GBA boxes. Like somehow I kept them for over a decade and then I'm all of a sudden like "might as well throw these out now without doing any research at all".
I'm an idiot lol
I know how u feel
+RandomTens luckaly i don't sine i only have 3ds,ds,ps2,wii and wii u games
can't you buy a box?
+caphead100 Did the same. As a kid I was so impatient I used to rip the boxes apart to get at the games.
Where are you getting these prices? Bomberman 2 hasn't been $30 since 2012...
I don't know if you've caught on by now, but this dude does like 5 seconds of research before putting these videos out.
Hi nintendrew :D
Definitely, you can get a repro for 25$.
Authentic as of 2018 May will cost roughly 90-150$.
@@DeadlyPixels depending on the seller some ask collectors price some ask fair price then you got people who just want it gone ahahaha I found some dirt cheap games here and there i evan had someone tell me just take it plz lol i still have them money tho :)
Aaaaa nitnendrew!
You wanna know some rare games on the N64? Banjo Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Blast Corps, Goldeneye, Donkey Kong 64, just to name a few.
+LARUCUS I've got Diddy Kong Racing and a DK64 gold(yellow) cartridge in the box with an Expansion Pak.
LARUCUS you clever
LARUCUS nope. none of them are rare at all. in fact they were extremely popular and many people owned or own them. not rare...
I'm surprised this went over so many heads...
I got that one
My favorite Nintendo 64 game is Banjo-Tooie, it came out on my birthday in the states when I turned 5.
Ahhh the memories. :)
The only thing I don't understand about Banjo-Tooie is *WHERE THE HECK IS BANJO'S SISTER!!???*
It's ya Boi Sanoic !!!!!
I've never understood how people could throw away the boxes.
Considering how cool they looked aesthetically that would be quite the shame to see them all thrown out.
I totally agree. They should keep everything, and I mean every single thing. All the little papers, all the little baggies, everything!!!!
Other valuable and/or rare games worth noting:
Stunt Racer 64
Worms Armegeddon
Super Bowling 64
Transformers Beast Wars Transmetals
Snowboard Kids 2
International Superstar Soccer 2000
Harvest Moon 64
Conker's Bad Fur Day
Mario Party 3
Starcraft 64
Castlevania Legacy of Darkness
Goemon's Great Adventure
NFL Blitz Special Edition
Most of these games are usually worth anywhere from $40 to more and can be tough to find.
I remember playing that clay fighter game, damn shame it will never get a remake would be great to see that game come back.
I have Ogre Battle 64. It's one of my favorite N64 games, in fact.
2:59 "Shrek Battle 64"
hi banana
i actually remember when i was 6 or 7 years old and being inside a Blockbuster and seeing a HUGE advertisement for Clayfighter on the wall... now I know why it was there...
How do you figure your loose pricing? They're way off (too low)
your loose price on these carts aren't even close.......
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that
+DEE davE I think his price for Ogre Battle must have been influenced by loose *Japanese* carts.
Where you get the covers/labels/3D box with this quality? I want put on my Arcade System...
Great vid, did you capture it with elgato?
Starcraft 64 and Bangai-O are huge omissions from this list.
Yeah you're correct. I'd also like to put Paper Mario, Conker, and Harvest Moon 64 in an eventual sequel.
does anybody else remember Space Station Silicon Valley?
Yep.
Shame it was broken so you couldn't actually get the full ending without cheats.
Was one of my favourite games as a kid. I can't remember if i knew what I was doing but I remember loving it ahahah.
I remember that game! Man it sucked. You can't even play it if you have an expansion pak in your N64, you need to put in the default jumper pak.
This kid knows nothing about rare video games.
JrGuacamoles I was at disc replay and like 5 of these games were on display 😂

How about Dreamcast games? a little something on SEGA's side of the market(the cool shit heh jk)? Master system maybe?
Turbografx 16 maybe? How about the rarest game consoles released to market?
How come I didn't discover your channel sooner.. Amazing content man! I really enjoyed it and I look forward to see more of it :)
what I love the most about this series, is seeing what games came through the doors at the video game store I used to play :D
Awesome rewiew. What soundtrack did you use in the end of the video brother?
Man it has been a while since i have been able to watch your content (my fault not yours) nice to see you are still going strong. Keep it up, great job as always. Also i approve of the new name card :)
Haha awesome! Good to hear from you dude! :)
What about Turok: Rage Wars Grey Cart?
That's what I wanted to say. Far as I know that is the rarest game for the system. Cause I know you had to order it online when the internet wasn't as easy to access as it is now.
Notorious Shizzane It only goes for $100 or so though.
I remember it only has 120 copies
pejnismiggle I have one :-)
Nice!! Great job as usual Stan!!
Thanks dude! I still gotta check out your album now that I've got a free Sunday!!!
+RandomTens thanks!! It's not really an album though, it's an EP.
Makes me even more happy that I still have a copy of Bomberman 64 The Second Attack. That game was a big part of my childhood.
what is the name of the Nintendo 64 snowboard game that you show on this video
Awesome episode!I got Bomberman 64 a little recently, and I like it so far. I'm thinking about giving the sequel a try someday.
They're actually both solid games. I've barely played the second attack, but from what I've gathered public opinion is much kinder than the reviews of the time.

hey Stan I have a question (one that's been bothering me for awhile) do you have any journalism or writing credibility because I swear the production value of these videos are on another level great stuff!
Wow this was one of the nicest comments I may have ever received! To answer your question, no I have no formal training, besides a volunteer job I had as a camera man for TV when I was a teenager. I actually sell auto-parts as my day job! :P
Thank you for this comment though, you seriously made my day! :)
+RandomTens thanks lo your reply made my day
Awesome video! Loved the n64. One question: what's the song at the beginning?! 00:01-00:09
It's a song called "Stan's Epic Space Adventure" by my good friend Arcane Toaster. You should check out his SoundCloud if you get a chance!!!
Great video again! It was a good one :)
Did you learn anything good this time around Roy?
Also, throwing NFR (Not for Resale) games such as Yoshi's Story International Version on this list is a little imbalanced as they were never sold or distributed to the public, only limited numbers of them went to retailers for kiosk usage. You're right, but nonetheless it's still a (rare) N64 game, and that's the point of this video
There are 25 more NFR's for this system that are all rarer than everything else on this list though, and "rarest" is in the title :P.

Any plans for a PS1 episode? There's a few pricey PAL and NTSC exclusive titles that have been increasing in demand recently.
Update on Bomberman: The Second Attack. Loose carts sell for over $400+ now!
I remember as a child getting bomberman 2nd attack at blockbuster and never finishing it. I wonder what happened to that copy?
I distinctly remember renting Clay Fighters from my local Blockbuster as a kid.
another fantastic video guys!!
Thanks Devin! It looks like GameCube games will be the next video made too haha
Woo! 64 and gamecube were my favorite systems growing up

Yay i don't have any of them. Despite having 235 n64 games. Thanks for shitting on my collection.
Just bought orge battle 64 for around 1$ in Kyoto yesterday...
Donut Rain WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?
Becca Moyer the Japanese cart isn't worth anything. He said Kyoto, so there's no reason to believe its a USA cart
omg I still have clay fighter sculptors cut, idk abt box I gotta dig around and see if I have it
What the heck was at 3:46??
Some other rare games worth mentioning that aren't on the list for anyone interested in N64 collecting and their approximate loose price:
Worms Armageddon: $150+
Super Bowling: $87
Conker's Bad Fur Day: $70-80
Starcraft 64: $50
Harvest Moon 64: $50
Goemon's Great Adventure: $40
Stunt Racer: $40
International Superstar Soccer 2000: $40
Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness: $40
NFL Blitz: Special Edition: $37
Snowboard Kids 2: $35-40
Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals: $35-40
love your channel
If you do a follow up you should mention the bugged Turok Rage wars carts and the Indiana Jones game.
love your videos new sub right here 😁
The best video game company of all time and only legitimate one still in business today.
You should do the rarest Sega Saturn games
What about Conker's Bad Fur Day???? I used to have that game as a kid (and I'm pretty sure I still have it somewhere) and now it goes for well over $100 bucks on its own without the box. It's really rare because not that many were released in the first place and because later on it got a huge following.
Harvest Moon 64 is pretty rare. I regret not getting it before the aftermarket prices went up.
Omg no, Ogre Battle was sooo great :o
Literally played and beat it through 3 times and you can make the ending change each time.
i've actually heard of clayfighters; sculptors cut, i saw it vaugely referenced in the classified information section a nintendo power issue where they were talking about cheats for the original.
Oh man how i love my 64! since i had it in childhood its been one of the best consoles ever for me.

-Same for Ogre Battle (thank god for wii virtual console!)
-Woah! didnt know that Yoshi Demo!

I gave Bomberman the Second Attack to my best friend at the time for his birthday, and the very next gift he opened from his mother was a GameCube. I was so pissed off.
my three rarest n64 games would be shadow gate 64, jet force Gemini, and body harvest
6:17 That is a reproduction copy
I've played Bomberman 64 and Bomberman Legends, but had never heard of The Second Attack.
If there was ever one game you would add to a sequel to this list, it would definitely have to be Conker's Bad Fur Day.
Yep! You're absolutely right about that. That and Paper Mario will definitely be in the sequel!!!
+RandomTens How did you forget Conker!?!?
Bomberman 64 multiplayer was amazing!
So glad I still got my copy of Bomberman 64: The Second Attack.
I had StarCraft 64 but sold it at a garage sale not knowing what it was worth... :(

Wait, what about Snowboard Kids 2? That game can go for some pretty hefty prices, as-well.
the n64 test cart only shows up every few years on ebay wile its not a game its probably one of the rarest n64 carts
Awesome. This game could be considered rare, it's called "StarCraft 64" a nintendo 64 port of starcraft. i've seen it go for over £300 on ebay
Bomberman Second Attack is awesome
Flying Dragon. Still have it, still love it, but I've never seen it online and never met anyone else who had it.
Stan and Shane from Rerez are too underated. They definitely need more attention. And believe it or not. My rarest N64 game would be Duke Nukem 64, and Megaman 64. Duke Nukem cost about $60 with only three copies to be found, and $80 with Megaman.
You know what, I saw a nice condition Mega Man 64 copy for 20 dollars a few years ago, now I wish I picked it up.
$500 game, congrats. I bought one from eBay in 2013 for about $135. Don't regret it in the least!
Thanks for doing this one. Love N64!!!
I can't watch this I don't have my wing cap or a bird on my back
Well did you equip your Ocarina or load your Golden Gun? We'll also accept beating Master Hand as acceptable entry.
RandomTens ok I can now ha
RandomTens I brought my Triforce!
silicon valley, hybrid heaven, quest64, biofreaks...etc
I think Bomberman 2nd Attack is also available on the Wii virtual store
Here is the TRUE rarest N64 game:
Super Mario 64
Disk Drive
Stunt racer... more rare than SC. Now we’re on NFR’s? Majoras mask and DK gray both win that battle. Turok rage wars gray variant? Where does that place?
Anything that has atalus on the box you know its going to be rare
Super bowling is a pretty rare game as well!
I had BM second attack. I also was able to sell it for $60 to a local game peddler. I was so surprised when it sold for so much. I did my research when I got home and was blown away how lucky I was to own a copy among its tight window release date. Luck of the draw I guess! The game was pretty good too.
I miss the crazy baby seal noise...great list though! :)
whoa. I really liked Ogrebattle 64. I was surprised no one else was talking about it when i was a kid. Guess it makes more sense now that i know it was a rare game. I remember when I sold all my games i kept it because it was my favorite.
I don't have these rare games but i have always kept my boxes (well, 90+%of them) and manuals from as far back as my Acorn Electron.
Holy shit, I actually owned Yoshi Story, fully packaged. :o I had no fricking idea it was a rarity when I (mistakenly) sold my N64 with it
bomberman 64 is amazing
I purchased a loose copy of Ogre Battle 64 for $70 canadian dollars today at a local game store. Only time I ever saw one in person, still kicking myself for not picking up Bomberman Second Attack but I didn't have the $200 at the time to spend
what about the gray cartridge turok rage wars??
IMMACULATE? OOT. IMMACULATE? NO NO NO! THAT IS A PROGRAMMERS NIGHTMARE!
You forgot the Mail in version of Turok 3 Rage Wars. Probably Could've added Resident Evil 2
Turok Rage Wars is pretty fuckin rare if you're looking for one in a grey cartridge. That version fixes a bug that makes it unbeatable in co-op mode, and was only given out to people who wrote to Acclaim about it.
