During the moment when Joe and Phil are speaking side by side, you cannot see a pair of more contrasting English accents with Phil speaking in his London accent and Joe in his South Yorkshire accent.
Great stuff, thanks Andy. Shame they had technical problems. Is that the thought for why Animal and Let's Get Rocked were omitted from the official release of the concert?
Def Leppard, Metallica and Guns N' Roses had nothing to do with Freddie Mercury, he never met them. I assume Queen invited them to ensure american live tv coverage, as they were the most famous bands then.
Actually Queen was an influence on Def Leppard especially on Joe Elliott. I think it is mentioned in the song Rocket. Brian May in turn would come to admire them and a friendship would develop.
It's really not ok to make assumptions when you don't know the background. Def Leppard and Guns n Roses were huge Queen fans, Joe Elliott of DL is a close friend with Brian May (you can even hear Brian saying that DL are young/old friends...) from 1983 on till today, Metallica covered Queen's song Stone Cold Crazy... That's why James Hetfield sang it at the tribute. All those amazing musicians gathered to honour Freddie... and it took all of them to step in Freddie's shoes and perform all the Queen songs.
Queen & Def Leppard are my favourite bands ever. Love them to bits
Same - thinking up a tattoo to show both

I remember watching this during its initial broadcast on television. Amazing show, very good feelings, great tribute.
First time seeing this interview brilliant
DEF LEPPARD ROCKS TOO

Phil’s first wife Jacqueline, what a hottie. Damn!!

Brian May had been fans of DL since at least '83 and had played on stage with them early as that.
