Hi Mike! I watched this video about 9 months ago and just recycled back to watch it again. What an INCREDIBLE journey you captured on camera. This is like watching a National Geographic Documentary Film. Excellent camera and drone shots, perfect selections of music, informative narrating, and breathtaking landscape that is hard to take in all the beauty.
YT algorithmus sei Dank, denn dadurch habe ich ein absolut tolles Video gesehen. Als Motorradreisende habe ich immer Hochachtung und Respekt vor den Radreisenden. Sehr schön. Mach weiter so.
Finally back again! I've probably spent the last two-three months editing this video. I really wanted to get it perfect and to showcase the wonderful surroundings in the best way. It's a little bit different style than my previous videos, so I would love to get some feedback from you what you think about this format. Oh, and i'll be back in two weeks again with a jam-packed video from my first day in the Lofoten Islands.
Thank you, I cycled from Å to Tromsø in the summer of 2010, your film has renewed great memories of this trip, you captured the essence of the experience perfectly.
Hi Mike, such a wonderful video! I was looking forward to seeing this so much and you have delivered such great footage! My boyfriend and I plan to do this tour in 2024 and this video just makes me want to go right now. Before I got to the end and read the explanation, I was missing some more detail as you usually show. But I think for someone who doesn't already plan to do this trip, this is a great resource in figuring out whether they want to do so. Seriously the landscape footage is incredible! Watched it twice! Now I am really looking forward to see and hear some details about the roads, your campspots and food. I am really grateful that you share this with us! Zoe
That really warms my heart! And I need some warmth right now here in my tent after a cold and wet day out on the gravel roads here in Sweden. Thank you!
Great picture setup, plenty of useful info as well. Moderate speech tempo, coupled with Scandinavian accent and lack of jargon make it easy to understand to non-native English listeners. Thank You.
I lived from july 2021 to september 2021 in Lofoten. It rained almost every day and then still tryed to bikepack a bit, only a week until I got tired of the rain and knocking wind, but still was amazing XD
Wow, you must have been real unlucky with the weather. I've ben there twice and I guess I've been extremely lucky with the weather since I've had +25C and blue skies every day I've spent there. But I've seen videos of people bikepacking there in the same conditions you had and it looked real miserable at times.
Fantastiskt Micke. Jag ångrar mig att vi gjorde inte detta resa när vi bodde i Luleå. Men dottern har påminnat mig att det finns mycket kvar för äventyret även om vi bor nu i södra Sverige. Tack för inspiration.
That's Norway weather for you I guess. Hope you had some other days with nice weather. Watching back on my trip I realize that I was extremly lucky with the weather. Just saw another video of two guys cycling up to the Cape. They arrieved in August, and they had so severe winds up at the North Cape that the authorities actually shut down the road so they ended up being stuck there for a couple of days.
No need to worry. I've just had a lot of things going on lately. Plus this behemoth of a video took a lot more time than I had expected. I've probably been working on this one for at least two months now. Would really love to come to the States soon, and Ragbrai looks like a hoot. But unfortunately I will probaly be at work during the latter part of July. I'll have to make it there another year.
Good video. I did a trip in June-July 2016 Helsinki-Nordkapp-Bodo(near Lofoten) . It would be interesting to know seaon and year of your trip, as well as more place names. We were early in season, few motor homes. I remember the long tunnel as very noisy due ventilation fans. We tried to avoid riding below 10C with risk of rain, because of the lack of shelter getting close to Nordkapp. I liked that Nordkapp visitor centre was free for cyclists. We used Hurtiguten from Honningswag to Tromso. Did not much like Lofoten because it was impossible to avoid narrow main road with lots of traffic.
I was there between June 26th and July 5th, so about the same period as your trip. I'll try to add more names of the places I ride through during the coming 10 videos from this trip. I'm going to do one video from each day of the trip.
Type 2 fun days awesome desciption of a sufferfest 😄 But at the end, there is the greatest reward. Congratulation on your achievement and thank you so much for documenting and sharing it with us!
Thank you Mike for sharing this trip with us. My heritage is Swedish but I have visited Norway, but now at 80 yrs. old this is the closest I’ll get to cycling the Nord Cape. ❤
Haha! Actually there weren't that many mosquitos/midges there as you might think. That first night in Lofoten was probably the only evening that I was a bit annoyed by them. The other evenings were fine. It all depends on if there's a nice breeze and the proximity to the sea.
Great trip and great video Mike. Thanks. As a videographer I know the big work involved setting the camera up and return filming your self and then back to pick the camera up. I subscribe.
Man, what a video. It's not allone the spectacular scenic and wonderful recording job, it's also your calm and peaceful presentation. I love it. Go on.
I cycled to the North Cape in 1984 and started in the south of Norway, in Moss. I also took the detour over the Lofoten and the Vesterålen Islands. Beautiful video, thank you for the trip down memory lane.
@@BikeTouringMike Yes you did, and also reminded me of the hardships. I had my share of rain and hard wind along the way. There was a very strong wind from Honningsvåg to the North Cape.

a long journey requires good physical and mental well-being, always healthy
Beautiful. love from Muhammad Ibrahim, Pakistan.
Done it from Tromso to Reine in an autumn, it was the most beautiful thing i did.
That's a really scenic ride. I rode around Senja during autumn of 2020 and it was great. Hardly any tourists around.
Really beautiful trip....I greet You from Ecuador 🇪🇨 south América

Fantastic bike trip! Cycling in flip-flops is hardcore!
Haha! I didn't have any choice. If the shoes got wet they would've stayed wet for the rest of the trip. Nothing dries when it's that cold.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
