My Mom lives out in the woods too, but her house is only a mear 3,000 square foot rambling ranch house, on 5 acres. Her insurance company has someone come out to make sure that it has defendable space around her property, before they will cover her. 🔥

It would be insane, though no insurance company is giving out new fire ins. policies in Calif. since at least 2018 when I bought my property. You have to be your own fire ins. policy and have a private volunteer firefighting service. Cheers
