That children choir thing, as I see it... are the voices of the toxic fans that can't handle Architects wanting to do something "less heavy". The whole track is just dissing those "fans".. including the "clapping" in the breakdown. So there's a reason for it. I personally love it 😆

Been mentioned a few times below I am sure, but here is my take:
Child Choir - This is intentional and supposed to be unexpected from the rest of the song because it represents the mass of online fans who are telling them "You have to do what we say, we're all you need, we make you famous, play what we like and don't experiment with new styles"
Clapping video - When the breakdown gets super heavy he walks around looking pissed at the camera, the clapping video is put in there to basically say the fans who want this are going to love it, followed by "Are you happy now?"
Beat Drops - When you said you were off because you're normally good about picking up on the beat drops - again that was done intentionally since it broke the pattern they had set in the rest of the song before it. Then they did it again during the last time through. To me that's them showing they are trying something new and it's okay because it sounds dope.
I don't normally do longer comments, but when you reacted like that to those parts in the song it kind of proves the point that this stuff distracts from the music, takes away from the songwriting and is telling folks to just chill, trust them as you go along for the ride or move on to another band because they are trying different stuff and that's okay. Just my two cents. Great reaction.

The children I think is Choir Noir. They're a choir known for having a darker sound and working with larger metal bands like Bring Me The Horizon to give people attending concerts something to chant and bring in crowd interaction. The clapping scene is basically them mocking fans who are gonna say that "theyre finally heavy again", while also simultaneously referencing their older videos (like These Colours Don't Run and Even If You Win, You're Still A Rat (both of which you should react too))

U are not being too harsh, u just didn't know the context. The thing is: the last album released by Architects was not well received at all because it wasn't "heavy". People usually don't like when bands experiment new sounds and demanded the band went back to their original sound. Josh, the former guitarrist wanted to get back to the heavier sound and left the band before Seeing Red debuted. So this entire song is about "We did it, we got heavy again, are u happy now?". Metal is not always about heavy instrumentals, but the lyrical content, just like u witnessed with Falling in Reverse's Popular Monster.
This makes more sense now haha Thanks as always!
