    This was beautiful, simply beautiful. Despite the awful tragedies in her life, Jacqueline Kennedy never lost her composure, her dignity, her love of life and most endearingly, her love of her children and family. She soldiered on with the rest of her life and always maintained her beauty, elegance and charisma. I just think she was absolutely an inspiration to us all! RIP beautiful lady.

    You could capture her on film at any given moment, be it a candid black and white shot, or a freeze frame still shot rendered from a home video clip, or a color picture taken by a professional photographer, and no matter what, the final image of her ALWAYS wound up looking like an eight page editorial spread that could've easily been right at home in the pages of Italian Vogue or something. Absolutely striking.

    Jackie's appeal was that she survived! Her life hinged on tragedy, yet she never wore her story. She taught women about dignity and self respect and "pulling yourself together." The legacy she left behind will inspire us for generations to come, Jackie was a legend. Hillary and Michelle are smart women, but they're not legends, they're not stars. Princess Diana and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis we gifted, that is, they were chosen to fulfill very specific roles on this earth and to be legends.

    You said it MacArthur, she didn't air out her dirty!!! And that is part of why we looked up to Jackie so much - she had class! She was a lady and possesed an incredible amount of dignity in adversity. She was regal, but wore no crown. However, as Americans, we have crowned her our Queen!

    Una mujer valiente y digna, muy culta y sofisticada que supo llegar al corazón no solo de los norteamericanos sino de todo el mundo. Toda una dama que será recordada por siempre.

    Jackie Onassis was the epitome of style, she could run circles around Hillary or Michelle when it comes to art, history and culture. Above all she held and capitvated us because, she held her cards very close to her, she never revealed herself too much and guarded her heart tremnedously. We loved her because she represented the ultimate survivor and no matter if your rich or poor, you can look up to her and learn from her how to grieve, even fall apart, and then move on and survive.

    You all need to stop comparing Princess Diana to Jackie Onassis and vice versa. Its apples and oranged, although both women are probably the 2 most famous women in the modern world, they went about achieving their fame in completely 2 different ways. Princess Diana, was a humanitarian. She looked great in almost anything and set the standard for wedding dresses for 2 decades! But Diana wore her heart on her sleeve, which is one of the biggest reasons she was so loved.

    Love the vid, you should make a video using the song Glamorous by Fergi. Jackie was so hip and fabulous yet timeless, the song would be fantastic to her images.

    Lots of women get JD degrees, and even more attend Harvard and Yale, but Jackie didn't need to 'look good on paper," She looked good in real life! She captivated the attention of French president DeGaulle while speaking in his native French, she traveled with the campaigning JFK to working class parts of Florida and Massachusetts and speak Italian and Spanish. She was well educated from Vassar, the Sorbonne in Paris and George Washington University. Michelle has degrees, but no class, no style.

    @beatlebird1 What you say is so true, just like Diana, although Jackie was not as insecure as Diana. Jackie seemed full of confidence,but you are right she had serious issues with her looks and hated most pics of herself, as did Diana. Well when their husbands were out there screwing anything with a pulse it doesn't help.

    I think what Jackie had was sophistication about the finer things but I do agree with you about the fact that our more modern first ladies had more than enough professional skills to work their way around Miss. Jacqueline Bouvier. I think Hillary worked harder professionally by the time she was 30 than Jackie did till she died at 64. But yea Michelle Obama has more professionally to her name but that I don't think is what she was known for. different values of different eras I believe.

  • @AnneLiesveld
    @AnneLiesveld 12 років тому

    Michelle is smart but I think what people are saying is that Jackie had flair and classiness but what I think is hard for me to understand having growing up with Hillary working as hard as (if not harder than) bill all her life is how Jackie could dress classily and suddenly she worked harder than Jack Kennedy himself--she basically wore chic clothes and was basically running the country by doing that.

  • @AnneLiesveld
    @AnneLiesveld 12 років тому

    I am imagining secret service just "ignoring the story" and letting it go and encouraging Bill Clinton. let alone just not telling media and letting it "be ignored" Not possible. so saying that Jackie 'didn't air her laundry' as far as her husband's life is concerned is (in my opinion) comparing apples to oranges.

    Oh I get she survived crap in life 20 year out but I am talking about her actual presidency first lady two years. but I guess what I am thinking is this. If you look at her presidency why was she famous? Because she was pretty. so I see Hillary getting HECK for not caring whether she is pretty or not and thinking she wouldn't make a very good Jackie. Maybe I misunderstood what Jackie was about but alot of it was her "look" and I see Hillary as the anti-thesis of that.
