If you say it’s obviously about Aliens then you don’t know what it’s about either lol a movie can be titled “Invasion” and can be about aliens, spies, or anything along the the concept of the word. “alien” also isn’t exclusive to extraterrestrial species considering the definition. The movie men in black was more about the aliens than the actual men in black lmao. I bet you won’t simply read that title and assume it involves creatures from space

I love Screencrush and have supported them financially before (and will continue to do so), but there is a line that becomes "too much." On a 30-minute video, sure, but on a 13-minute, roughly 1/4 of the video was ads. It's proportionally a lot. It does not, as you imply, mean that Screencrush doesn't deserve to make money.
@@deathcabkerouac respectfully.. They dont make money they dont produce videos. They make money by ad revenue and by selling merch.... I would even argue that they are not UA-camRS by profession. They are in the clothing business. Their business is tshirts. Their advertising, their way of brand awareness is by making youtube videos as opposed to more traditional forms of marketing. I dont disagree with your point about it being a lot of advertising. You are 100% correct about that. Alternatively. you can pay for youtube premium and skip the ads. Then fast forward through the in video promo stuff. Thats what I do and its fantastic. My point, is that to watch Screen Crush Videos you must pay for them. You do that one of two ways. Either by watching ads, ie paying with your time and frustration, or pay for premium. Either way you are paying. To slightly change the subject, I love going to the theater, I HATE paying for overpriced popcorn and soda. I could watch a movie at home but i like the theater experience. So I am willing to pay for over priced snacks so I can have that experience. Same applies here. We cant expect screen crush to work for free. Why should they. I love the content they put out. They research, the back stories, the scene by scene break down, the frame by frame Easter egss.... I could do all that myself. Byt that is a MASSIVE amount of time and work that I dont want to fool with. So I happily pay Screen Crush a little so I dont have to do that. Do you ask you theater to work for free. You do when you dont buy over priced snacks. Do you ask your restaurant waitstaff to work for free, You do when you dont tip. Do you expect the people who built your car to work for free so you can have a cheaper car. Whatever you do for a living, what if people wantyed you to work for free. Would you do it?? Yes its a lot of ads in a short video. but we put up with it because we love Screen Crush. You dont like ads. COOL. No one does. But either except it and deal with ot or pay for premium. Those are your options. Unless you are asking screen crush to work for free. again, I ask, would you work for FREE.
The movie was amazing ! it took me back to the same vibe of the first i truly hope that the lead actress can get a recurring role making it a somewhat new generation of Ripley
I enjoy Prometheus and Covenant. Both those movies together basically explain why the “organism” is so valuable. David during covenant says the black gue is “highly mutable” and proved it with his experiments. But also, we see that the “Engineers” on the planet appear different than in Prometheus. And if you pay attention to them in Prometheus, you’ll notice that they’re not only bigger and muscular, but they’re fused to the suits they’re wearing which resemble same texture as the xenomorph. So I think the idea of the black gue is brilliant. It’s something that we aren’t advanced enough to fully understand or even utilize. BUT the engineers obviously are. They can use it in its raw form as a bio weapon of mass destruction, create life with it, or use it like steroids, or simply develop bio armor with it. It’s an extremely dangerous and powerful resource that reminds me of stuff you’d discover in the X-Com games

Or... it was just a bunch of scripts mushed together incoherently, hence some of the inconsistencies and terrible dialogue. Acting like it's much deeper than it actually is, like a teenager who's just taken a philosophy class. Forcing characters to make stupid choices just to move the plot forward, with a lot of things happening that probably made more sense in earlier scripts, only to go nowhere with the questions it raised. Devolving into a lame monster flick. Then immediately made even more pointless with it's somehow worse sequel, like it's Rise Of Skywalker or something.

All of that is ruined by how illogically stupid the crew was. Who goes to an alien planet and go around sniffing and touching unknown lifeforms? Without any protection? You can get hurt or killed even on earth if you go around messing with some plants and animals that you have no knowledge about.
My friends and i are doing a double feature Saturday with Deadpool in the am and Alien pm. going to be the BESTest day ! thanks for some refreshers!

Naw Danny Glover saw a xenomorph skull in 1990.
The game Alien Isolation is a sequel to Alien and takes place about 20 years after, so I hope this movie takes inspiration and is anywhere near as great as that game was!

As a standalone, Alien 3 (the Assembly Cut) is a very enjoyable movie. In a series, it does a great job of continuing the main character’s arc. Alien 3 is not the worst of the bunch. AT. ALL. That destination goes to Resurrection. .

Could David be the reason that the Blade Runner’s were created fearing that other androids could be like him. I’m a fan of both franchises and how closely linked bath are I’m wanting to connect the two. David clearly showed an independent of his programming sentience, the plot of Blade Runner and 2049. Am I reaching for an imaginary limb.

Just saw it, I haven't seen a movie of this quality in a long time.... it feels, at last, like the madness is ending.
When are people gonna realize that when you’re in deep space and there’s a distress call…its’s definitely a killer ”alien” species. I mean, I get the desire to help but the risk of getting chest-bursted is just too high. Sorry, fellow space traveller…you’re on your own.
Just seen the early preview at my theatre. Romulus is a great movie. It brings back the suspense, and the feeling of “never knowing what’s around the corner” of the first movie. It combines elements of every single movie in the franchise. It also adds a few new elements to the franchise. Especially when it comes to the face huggers. Lots of brutal, “gross” visuals. Nice claustrophobic feel. Good jump scares. Overall a solid 8/10. Best one since the 1996 Aliens.
Mate it was a 7 at best. No jump scares or brutality. Dunno if you were watching the same movie.

it depends on what you were hoping for. it was not a Fredy Kroger type horror, but it was a good "you know the bad guy is behind the corner, but they don't" type.
you can "cringe" at a few of the one liners from the original two movies (specifically the "get off her you ..."), but the movie did earn it's right to use them.
Anyone else hate that Alien: Covenant established that David created the "standard" Facehugger/Xenomorph using Engineer technology, but then we never got an explanation on how the original Alien crew found a bunch of Facehugger eggs on a crashed Engineer ship? Kind of a stupid retcon/plot hole imo.
Created, or reverse-engineered? I took it to be the latter, so David's not necessarily the originator of the xenomorph

@@Wobini624No, you’re right. It was never implied that he reverse-engineered the facehugger/xenomorph. On the contrary, it’s explicit that David created the facehugger eggs, and that the first proper xenomorph came out of Oram.
The problem is, Ridley Scott and Fox most likely had plans for a third film that would have explained how the eggs ended up on LV426 in that derelict ship, but that most definitely got scrapped after Covenant’s poor reception.
This whole prequel trilogy was a mess from the start. Ridley Scott wanted to tie Prometheus directly to the Alien mythos, as the first script by John Spaihts shows. But, at the time, a Fox executive didn’t want to make a “franchise” movie, so the studio hired Damon Lindelof to chop that script up and make it more about the Engineers and the search for our creators, loosely tying it into Alien lore. After the poor reception of Prometheus, they rethought their strategy and scrambled to connect the dots with Covenant. It’s all a mess of shoehorned concepts and ideas and attempts to retcon and course-correct established lore. In other words, a big failure.

I enjoyed Covenant for what it was but it seemed like it just created more questions than it answered and with the 3rd movie being shelved they'll never be answered. I would've preferred if the movie was about David and Shaw after they left and how that all went down because that seemed a lot more interesting and Covenant could've wrapped up that story and given some closure with the "creation" of the xenomorph.

What do I think made this film very good is that it was connected in a very good way there was some good Easter eggs from the Past film and it was to me a 10 out of 10 good horror film

I just can’t get past how much inflection Colton puts in these videos. He talks fine when it’s him and Ryan going through a video together unscripted, but this is too much.

I'm definitely going to see Alien Romulus this weekend, I am pumped!! I've been replaying my favorite Survival Horror game Alien Isolation in the Meantime for it's Tenth Anniversary. What Perfect Organism of a game that has aged so well. It still looks amazing.

Another maybe mistake maybe not nobody really knows and I'm so sorry to do this again but we don't know if the xenomorph existed before the events of Prometheus because when they go into the ship there is a carving on the wall of a xenomorph type creature, but I suppose technically you're right because the xenomorph as we know it requires a human to come out that way
There is one mistake right at the beginning where you said that the engineer drinks a black goo and falls into the waterfall but the goo that the engineer drink at the beginning is different from the pathogen goo and was gold
I'm rewatching the franchise now, & the xenomorph would have to existed in 2079 because they were in alien vs predator in 2004.

I'm really not a fan of Alien Covenant. Mainly because it kind of implies that David created the xenomorphs via his genetic tinkering. If this is the case, there is not much that is 'alien' about Aliens. I always thought that the whole lore of Alien was probably the most believable if we were to find life out there (apart from microbes). To learn that an AI that we created here on Earth creates the Alien, that's not so compelling.
Prometheus really irritated me because we know life began before continents emerged so how would they be water falls and sedimentary rocks. Plus life began before oxygen so the sky would be red and the water would be purple or lime green.
Not to mention The engineers need space suits so how did they breathe if they arrived on earth before life since there wouldn’t be any oxygen on earth until hundreds of millions of years after life began?

Hmm… Inside the pyramid-base thing in Prometheus there is a mural or relief depicting a xenomorph or deacon-like figure so the one born out of Shaw can’t be the first one. My understanding was always that the Engineers who couldn’t procreate worshipped the source of the black substance we saw in the beginning of Prometheus, ie the creation of life elixir. So the OG xenomorph was worshipped or at least deeply revered by the Engineers, hence why they depicted it in the mural/relief. The black goo bio weapon the Engineers intended for humanity in turn is a kind of corrupted form of the substance that ends all life as opposed to sparking it. Perhaps this was a coincidental outcome of Engineers’ attempt to recreate the life giving substance or perhaps it was deliberately made as an inverse response to the life-sparking black goo, ie the substances cancel each other out. Idk idk. But I do think it’s a lot more complicated than how you present it here.
I wish they would make an actual alien movie that talked about what happened on the Conley haley's hope, I guarantee that will be an Alien movie That a lot of fans would love to see, The closest thing to that is newt's tale Which is a comic book adaptation.

PS. ...oooh, so that's why all the technology on that Space Station named ...?...(I forgot its name!)... it ALL resembles the technology found on the vessel "Nostromo" in the very first movie of the franchise. The "computers" - the video-screens - even all the electronical equipment makes that that "clicking" sound when it is activated - just like in the original movie.
