This reminds me of Sachin Tendulkar's love for his bat. One bat was broken during a game. He glued it and taped it with the surgical fabric tape. Nearly half his career, he used the same broken bat. It's about the feel of the bat in your hand....he said

its not for play, preserve for memory.
I differ to agree.... I myself repair bats and play with them.... some of these bats have unbelievable ping because of the continuous beating over the years... a good handle is all that is required and they are good enough for those 90m sixes

Great job..u did a lot of hard work in reconditioning that badly broken cricket bat...but the damage was so huge ..I doubt whether the performance of the repaired bat will be same as that of a new bat...

How much filler can you put in before a bat breaks the rule that it 'must be made of wood'? About 90% of the primary striking surface of that bat is epoxy not wood!
I'd have used that bat as kindling, but kudos on your enterprise. Not sure it would stand up to playing in a match.
