back in my hay day, son, we dry-brushed our sand-textured goblin green bases with Sunburst Yellow. The original yellow! None of them 40thousand some characters yellow!!
Fantastic video! And damn beautiful Dwarf. Some of my knowledge: if you don't have a beach or other source of suitable sand near you: bird sand is your solution. Also: I like to drybrush the base _before_ I paint the mini. So I don't need any blue tack for that.
Back in the halcyon days I took my old GW original Goblin Green to a mate who worked at a paint store. Computer match ... and 250mls later for about $10 ... magic 😆👍
Goblin Green from Warcolors is 1:1 with the og formula. On top of that, I know you dissed Warboss Green, but it too is near 1:1 with Warcolors, and the classic goblin green. It’s only slightly more cooler toned. Vallejo Goblin Green I found has a more yellowy warm tone to it that isn’t fully true to the classic goblin green paint. _However_ : there is one last trick. Through out the era of pure goblin green bases, GW Eavy Metal painters would mix yellows and whites to desaturate and make the bases blend in with the felt covered tabletops of old. Hence why some classic bases seem much warmer tinted.
They never admitted it, but I'm 99% sure that was the case from about 2001 on. The base rims in White Dwarf definitely weren't Goblin Green then, even if they said it was. Snot Green was a way better match.
Hahahahahaha you actually did it 💚🤣 lucky you didn’t get any green paint in your glorious Mo. I’m all for the goblin green base, but you know what, sometimes getting that black rim is just too hard to pass up ya know 😉
Where are the green screen artists at? That green face just lends itself to shenanigans.💚 Also, green bases were where it's at when I started the hobby in '93. 🟢
I always paint my bases first. Then I can drybrush to my heart's content, safe in the knowledge I won't mess up the paint job. But whatever videos I watch, bases always come last. I don't really understand why.
If I use my usual painting handle it scratches the paint off the corners of the bases so I tend to leave it until last. But you have a great point! Makes sense 👍
Mate when you appeared with the green face, I just about spat my coffee everywhere, you’re a classic, what a great video!
Haha thanks mate!
I have been holding my breath for the entire video until I saw you picking up the dragon prince from the bin😂
An end credit scene Marvel would be jealous of haha
I've literally come back to watch this before basing my eldar kill team to make sure I'm doing my bases justice.
I love the old school Shrek filter you used
Shrek face, Donkey attitude
Saw dust is an acceptable period correct substitute for sand if none is available. Great vid!
True. True.

Sunburst yellow?! Damn! My base is ruined… I’ll strip the whole thing and start again haha
Right on! Although the coverage was so bad that you might as well be using thinned egg yolk 😅
This is your magnum opus Deetz. Well done lad
Thanks mate!
GOBLIN GREEN OR NOTHING! Great video and really the only basing tutorial we need. Your sense of humour is fantastic LOL!
You did it ya crazy bugger lol. Awesome! Love it mate
Haha I hesitated for a second and wasn’t going to do it 😂
Happy you did, all the while keeping a straight face, too. 🤢@@anvilofdoomminiatures
Finally, the tutorial we need. Nobody ever talks about how many coats you need!
If it’s goblin green you can coat it as much as you want 😎👊
Moot green + any fluorescent yellow for classic goblin green look - chefs kiss -
Goblin Green, it's the dream!
I've nothing to add, that was perfect.
Whoa. Back to the Future Man! Why am I so happy to see this? lol. It's like rediscovering those McVey guides back in the 90's for the 1st time.
3:08 "Its Goblin Green or nothing"🙌🙌🙌🥳🥳🥳
Damn straight dude! 😎👊🐸
This is my favourite video yet
Great channel Deets! Love your traditionalist take on warhammer and choice of mini's. Keep'em coming
Deets has gone full Goblin (green) mode.
Commitment to the bit! 😂😂😂
Fantastic video! And damn beautiful Dwarf.

Beach sand is the best! Stuff on this side of the Pacific is just the same. And here the masking stuff is called "earthquake putty"!
We need to see a green goblin on goblin green base!
I agree!

UPDATE:
CHROMIUM OXIDE GREEN MIXED WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF YELLOW OCHAR!!!!
Hold up, no matter what country I've been in I've only ever heard to it referred to as blue tack. Wild
Goblin Green base supremacy!
I still have some genuine citadel Gobbo Green in the old hex container somewhere
you're my hero
Goblin green is the only hero here. But thank you!
I'm doing a Dark Synthwave paint scheme for another game system but I may try this lol.
Nice green❤
If you're looking for something finer than beach sand, I find chinchilla dust is brilliant for basing.
Green with envy mate!
My personal Mandela effect is swearing that bases used to be painted in Snot Green.
We truely are in a simulation

Great video! I also prefer classic bases instead of the modern ones. I have to try that goblin green! What do you think of Golden Olive by Vallejo?
Thanks dude! I haven’t got my hands on Olive Green yet but I might pick it up in my next round of refills.
I do goblin green only on the rims. And I do use warboss green. My warbosses are just goblins.
There’s something different about your face this week…you got a haircut!!
Great video as always 🤙
Fresh cutz
Hahahahahaha you actually did it 💚🤣 lucky you didn’t get any green paint in your glorious Mo. I’m all for the goblin green base, but you know what, sometimes getting that black rim is just too hard to pass up ya know 😉
The Mo needs some room to breathe haha. I know what you mean man 😎
I really hope you don’t get cancelled for “Greening up” 🤣
Haha I hope I don’t either
Own that green! 😋😋
Vallejo paints.. More games workshop than games workshop 👏👏👏 it's a great product and a great company imo..
¡Gracias!
Thanks so much mate! I appreciate the support! 🤝👊🍻
Whooo Green😂
GOBLIN GREEN, as GOD, SIGMAR, MORR, GORK, maybe MORK, and ULRIC intended!!!
WFB should be played on a green board, with green bases. No arguments.
That is the law!
Where are the green screen artists at? That green face just lends itself to shenanigans.💚

I use warboss green, when I want older look, and goblin green Vallejo gc when I want bright punchy color
HA! I hope the exfoliating effect of the green leaves your skin glowing!
Can not recommend kids face paint enough for an exfoliant haha
which beach do you get that sand from?
Any beach in QLD should do the trick 👊
Hopefully you know it's going to end up in some weird fan video with wild green screen effects? 😅
I’m ready for that haha
Classic
one of your nest - not even bowing to increasing the base size in line with the new Old World sizes (note I have bowed to rebasing)
I’ll probably crack soon enough and start rebasing 😂🥲
Goblin green forever. 🤣🤣🤣
so not classic, but you could drybrush your goblin green white, then hit it with some florescent green.
No I dont know if i should take goblin green? 😂
Wait poster putty is just blue tack? I think the Americans are tricking us into thinking that’s the more common name
pole
goblin green count xDDDD, old mini wihout goblin green no its old mini!!!
Damn straight my dude! Haha I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🙂
Literally perfect video. INB4 this is viral
