Lance Camp I think those are from Synths & Wood in the UK (synths_and_wood on eBay). I bought a 3-slot version for my Roland Boutiques, and they do Korg Volca ones too. I'm hoping to surround myself with walls of little synth/drum modules in wood casing until my bedroom looks like TONTO.
@@CottonBud awesome. did Larry use a Jupiter for the pads or did he use the 60 for everything on that track? i read somewhere he used only a Juno + 909 for the entire song.
@@vznquest Some debate about that but not confirmed it seems. Some kit lists from the time mention a Jupiter 6. If it was all Juno he must have muktitracked it, which wouldn’t have worked here in a one take performance. The point is it sounds right. In my other shorter vid trying out the JU-O6 for the bassline, the pad is from a real Jupiter 6 out of shot and it’s nailed it 👍
Love how you're using those Roland Boutique modules for the Juno and Jupiter sounds, more convincing than any of the standalone demos to hear them in action.
@@CottonBud thanks for that--getting closer with that but i still can't get that haunted sound. data.dynareg.se/breadandbutter/JP08.html - this is how close i'm getting - look at this in the public library under Pads > Can you Feel it ( anther attempt at the pad)
LittlePennyNolan I’m not surprised! This is way too bright, you have the cutoff completely open. The sound is warm and muffled, not bright and buzzy. Also, it has an organ type quality, achieved by a touch of resonance and the filter keyboard tracking fully up, so that you get the hint of a tuned harmonic overtone.
Good job. I have passed over this video several times and now I regret it. You do it justice.
This has to be the best house track ever made, distant planet comes close, both by the same brilliant man
I can’t argue with you there sir!
GREAT WORK!!! FABOLOUS CLEAR BASS ETC.!!!
😎👍
💪😎
I was comparing yours to the original and then it dawned on me. Your square wave bass actually sounds better than the original! Great work.
Haha I'll take that - thank you! ❤
Merci pour tout ces souvenirs ! Excellente vibrations 👍❤️😁😀🧙
❤️coucou de la france

@@CottonBud I have handwritten it and sent it to the P.O. Box you provided 😁👍🏼
6 years on and only 574 likes, thats a travesty!!
Closest bass that I've seen! Good job.
Well, damn. That was a lot better than I thought it was going to be.
Haha I don’t know if that’s faint praise or not, but I like it! 👍
@@CottonBud Yeah...in hindsight I can see how that read as a bit backhanded. I meant it in a good way though.
@@Zilch.0 Taken in the spirit it was offered. Thank you again! 👍
@@CottonBudAddendum: Damn...I can't seem to stop listening to this one. It really REALLY does the original justice.

I love the wooden racks for the Roland Boutique series. Did you make those?

excellent! which synth is pulling bass duty and which is doing the pads?
Thank you! Juno for bass and Jupiter for pad

great little set up and great mr fingers mix..what synth is doing string/pad sound?
Thanks. For this I used the Roland Boutique JP-08, although the original uses a Jupiter 6.

@@CottonBud original is Juno 6!
@@andrewhorton5101 Bass yes, but Larry had a JP 6 too, so good chance this was used for chords if the Juno was already used for bass.
Fuckin nailed it. Great work.

The JP-08 to my right
@@CottonBud i'm driving my self crazy trying to recreate the sound on my own JP-08.
@@LittlePennyNolan have you found the secret Juno chorus on it? CC97 I think?

Nice point blank remix.
Point Blank was a nice Larry Heard remix then. Plus theirs is all software, this is mainly hardware.
oh almost!
Yeah boy just let it ride...recreating the masterpiece.
