Had a listen to some live shows as well as a few studio albums the other night with my friend Lucy that Daevid mentioned here, and I was very startled by what I experienced. My hifi is as good as I can get it to be and the sound stages within these recordings and the things that happen within them will forever boggle my mind. My theory is that if I let it boggle me enough I can learn to do similar things for my generation so that I can make sure that the wisdom Daevid is sharing with me makes it through to the future. Thanks so much for this awesome clip!
Allen is great. I love Gong. But one can love the music but not buy the whole metaphysical and social philosophy. Actually, I agree with much of his perspective on society but exalting drug experimentation . . . Well, he lose me there. And I was a mushroom enthusiast at one point.
I have the Gong box set the one with the teapot on the cover. This guy is incredible . I've Gong and I'm going to search out his other groups/projects He doesn't get the recognition in Australia and I believe that he must. He is a national treasure
My last dispeared poet while no tv show or radio dare once a tribute. i'm really sad of that prejudice and I know, tall with my ending 50s that Youth will reckon
Fascism is not about unity. It's about division, if you think it's about unity you don't really understand fascism. Taking LSD and unifying with other people in Love could not be further from fascism.
@@ricercativoices isn't the whole idea of fascism based on a bundle of sticks (durrived from the meaning of the word)? The bundle is stronger than the individual? Also the reason for the fist iconography of the fingers closing together to be stronger as a unit than they are individually?
@@lenini056Sure. In which case we should all be for any fascist and any of us for all fascists? Or is the community "pure" of such elements? How exactly is it "purified"?
A fountain of creativity & inspiration & freedom 🙏Now you're here & now you're Gong R.I.P Maestro Daevid 🙏

First met Dave in 1990 when I was recording an album at Foel Studios...then many many years later when he did a gig in Wales
Brilliant.
Love me some DA...miss he and his whole essence.

For a good history, read the Robert Wyatt biography, Different Every Time.
Is there more available?
Where can i see the whole interview?
I'm afraid it's not available
Is the whole interview available??
There was a whole documentary made but only bits surfaced
Great musician, never mind the somewhat messed up attempts at social commentary.
LSD or beer? Both!
Great musician; still, criticizes fascism and then glorifies everyone becoming one unit. Lost him there.
Yea I hear you. The man did a lot of drugs, what can I say. At least the music's interesting!

He's talking community. Ever heard of "all for one and one for all?"

Ok boomer
Great music.. philosophically challenged like a 40 year old pothead that won’t leave mom’s basement to find a job. That’s ok good music though
