Its actually emotional watching this - this is probibly the only fair you could go to with the older members of your family and it would bring back so many memories of the fair from when they were young. Please someone save our history and get this into a park somewhere!

Real sorry to hear that fun fair is going out of business. I just attended my first fun back in the United States. The company is called Big Rock Amusements out of Michigan, and they came to my home town in Kentucky for a weeklong fun fair. If it wasn't for you and Charlotte filming all these fun fairs, I probably would have never taken the time out of busy schedule to attend one. So thank you.
Living in Berkshire, I’ve always had the privilege of Carter’s Steam Fair touring around my area (didn’t know they went up north). Nice to see a vlog on it
It looks similar to the old ringling bros & Barnum and Bailey circus that used to be around. Very similar rides and games just a bit taller as America tends to have bigger rides. Honestly it was old fashioned fun until the 2000s when the circus finally sold out. Most of everything was sold piecemeal except the circus props as the remains went to Coney Island to create a permanent attraction with attached freak show. The animals moved to sanctuaries and zoos. I believe the Ferris wheel of the old circus is with a traveling carnival that tours the US. I know the old wild mouse coaster found a home in the north east. It’s what they do and what parks can pick up. I know a few coasters were destroyed due to age.

Yes... Scarborough Fair museum, a marvellous place where there are vintage rides, a huge collection of steam organs and a great vintage vehicle collection. This would fit right in there!
Having rode it what the camera doesn't show is the waltzer thing is incredibly fast for a steam ride, and incredible fun! Only one I hated of there's was the rotating car one where the cars move to prevent going upside down, can't remember it's name but it made me feel so ill after.
My problem with it was, they crew put me and another rather large man in the same seat and no one filled the opposing side, so not only was I squashed to the core, I also had major anxiety of falling out. The operator did eventually ask his team why they had organised it like that and asked me if I wanted a separate ride for free but at that point I already felt ill so I kindly declined.. However, no black marks against the steam fair it's still absolutely fantastic. And I agree Shawn, wherever it goes I hope it stays in the UK.
Now this is our ideal Vintage Carnival. All it needs is a Side show, Fortune tellers, mini circus shows and clowns to complete it. That swinging yacht ride is really beautiful looking. ^^ What's the history behind this steam fair? Asking from America here. :)
These traditional rides are so very important for English Heritage, I think they should get a large grant from Lottery funding or English Heritage. It would be a real shame if it dwindled away.
It’s sad to see Carter’s going. In the meantime, make sure you and Charlotte get out there and keep on riding as I will see you on the Thorpe Park one before you are abroad.
Would be great if somewhere like Bressingham Steam Museum in Diss or Beamish, Black Country Museum or Blists Hill Victorian Town Museum bought this fair.

The looping group could do with spending £2.5m and putting all of it inside pleasurewood hills. They have so much dead space it would fit a treat.
