Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr D and yes sir, them possums can do some damage on ones property BUT they're useful in so many other ways!!! Y'all have a good Sunday sir!! Dan
Hi my FRIEND! You are welcome to come visit us at The Ole Church 5 Acre Homestead as well! We have lots of wild rabbits, owls and grouse! There are bears and moose too! GREAT POST…hope you solve your Opossum Problem!
Oh Dan I'm a bad one I no longer relocate I have three sizes of have a heart and I really like the new mechanism one thing I do is I set the bait right next to the Back of the trigger I have found that if it's all the way to the back they will reach through the bars and take as much as they can
Maine, in the 30's tonight, we have a fox and an owl. I chase the fox, he is just hoping to get me off guard when I let my chickens out of the coop. For the past 2 years, I kept him at bay. Our chickens have a run now, with 1/4 inch hardware cloth around it, and it is skirted out. So far, so good. It was worth it. They are venerable when they are in their fenced in area outside the coop and run. I wish I could catch a fox or an owl in one of those! lol
Thank ya for watching mam and you can catch a fox in this trap if I'm not mistaken, may take some time to do so tho!! You have a good Sunday over there mam!! Dan
Hello PynkPanther, welcome to our community and the channel!! If I do catch that possum, I'll probably bring him out to a friends land that's several miles from me and set him free. Possums are good for eating bugs and small rodents around ones property, just can't have them eating my chickens lol!! I thank ya for watching and commenting, have a good weekend!! Dan
When I was about 10 we had a weasel kill 3 chickens. One winter (real winter) day I was feeding, watering and collecting eggs when I spotted it on a high ledge. I grabbed a pitchfork and was trying to send the weasel to the dirt nap hotel. On a stab that missed it ran down the fork handle, up my sleeve, across my throat, down the other side of my body and out the door to the coop. Being a kid I wasn't too keen on going back to the coop but I think he was even less keen on going there as I never saw the weasel or lost a chicken again.
My neighbor is originally from West Texas. He calls them CHEE-kins. Opossums are beneficial unless they develop a taste for the Chee-kins. Hope you're well, Sir!
That might have happened when I first saw that joker trying to tote of one of my chickens that night lol!! Thank ya for watching Mr Bill, have a good Sunday sir!! Dan
I am behind again . Butt promise you I will catch up on your videos. Dan the guy across the road from me lost a chicken and Two kittens over the past 3 weeks . I have seen a possum and raccoons here the chicken just had his head torn off but not the body. The kittens where just gone . Do you think our problem is raccoon or the possum. Thanks my good friend and I always enjoy your channel
Ain't no problem J B, things happen my friend!! I have a big possum over here as I actually saw him in the coop lol!! Thank ya for watching and commenting, have a good Wednesday!! Dan
🤔 every time them chickens get to fussing you gotta investigate it with a shotgun, 22 or something else in in hand. Gotta put some wire mesh around the bottom of coop and put on new boards to replace the damaged ones. Getting a decent sized dog or two like a Shepard, Rottweiler or Catahoula or the like will help deter possible threats as well. Adding a motion activated light to the front and back of the coop will notify you of a predator and may chase off the predator as well. Anyways good luck with that. And good luck with your channel.
Thank ya for watching and commenting edwardsdeacon, welcome to our community and the channel!! Good tip on the motion activated light, I'm looking in to a few right now lol!! Preciate ya stopping by the channel, have a good Friday!! Dan
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mrs Karen and yes mam, I have one if not more possums getting into my chicken coop lol!! Have a good Sunday mam!! Dan
Dan, I respect you very much but you should never go out to a disturbance in the dark without a good light and unarmed. Never. That could just as well been a wild dog who would attack you in a second. Have a heart is what makes you good fellow. But you catch one and there's 10 others right behind him and they'll cost you a lot of money in chickens so I'll agree with Toni Napoli, take care of it one way or another. 😃
Thank ya for watching and commenting Mr Thomas, reckon it was just one of those things, grant it, I wasn't far away from a sidearm but I do agree with ya!! You have a good Sunday my friend!! Dan
Hate you lost some chickens Dan, but hope you catch the possum. 👍🏻💪🏻 Those Have A Heart traps are really good traps. Watching from South Carolina!

Relocate my butt, time for a dirt nap.
