The refs never made the difference. The Lakers beat teams they are better than and lose to the teams that match up better against them. People just assume they only win because of free throws when a better team is gonna beat them regardless. The Nuggets been beating them for that reason

Alan & Greeny have a point from a spectators’ analysis standpoint, but as a player its ridiculous to try and do something like that , def takes a hit to the expectation , I.E. Clippers when they lost to Mavs.

Even outside of not losing on purpose on principle, it's probably better to face the Nuggets early, anyway. If you want the chip, you're probably going to have to beat them regardless. Maybe some teams get "a bite" taken out of them along the way, but teams like the Nuggets usually heat up along the way. This is probably the easiest version of the Nuggets they were gonna get to face this playoff.
