By far the best knot. Yukatan knot easy and super strong. I use a 4 wrap surgeon knot when I only need around 2 to 3 foo leader. Good luck tying all these knot FG, Alberoto (although nice) out on the surf with winds. Thanks this is a great knot and used it many times STRONG!

Fg is easy people over complicate it . Literally over, under, over ,under yada yada 16 ,20 wraps whatever floats your boat then a couple half hitch’s easy watch salt strong he shows it well
The FG Knot is crazy thin and works even with micro guides. Not sure why you think otherwise. The knot he demonstrates here is about as easy as it gets, but any time you have leader material that is bunched it's going to be bulky. Regardless, it is definitely cool that you found the right knot for you! I am just curious how you landed on the FG not being a thin knot.

Yea, nice looking knot but the only problem is that the tag end of the floro/mono will catch in the guides. FC knot is the only slim connection knot that I know of that doesn’t!

You're exactly right....I just did this one with 30lb braid to a 10lb mono leader and it slipped out very easily.
@@razorbak6783 , I think the braid with fluorocarbon may work. But it's real expensive.

I tried tying this 3x and every time it slipped using brain and Fluoro leader when pulling hard. I will use an FG knot but thanks
RP knot is great for braid to mono / Flouro
Try it the other way… form the loop with the leader. It won’t slip.
@@johnsonc8 agreed, allows the braid to “bite” into the mono.
I stick to the double Uni. I know and trust it with all types of lines together.

Joining braid to flouro or mono it fails I will stay with the FG knot. Its a pain to do but it works. Cheers.

So it’s the Yucatan Knot and the forward facing tag end of the leader rattles through the rings on casting. Better leader knots out there.
