You found my snare. I literly lost that about a week before you came down and shot these videos. I ended up losing 3 if those and a hawk that day.
Yup, be mindful of the drop off, pull faster before the hawk reach the bank of the drop off. I use crab max on a big rod, seen a few folks lost their traps, caught 55 Dungeness in 5 days two weeks ago.

You and your bro, (and the ancient of course), are the best fishermen on UA-cam. These videos are the reason I started traveling to other places to fish. Keep at it bro!
It takes about 5 minutes for crabs to die in boiling water, grabbing them by the legs and smashing their carapace on something solid is the fastest way to kill them, then you can split them in half down the middle, it's also more efficient because you can probably fit about three crabs in instead of just two.

Noice dungys. We catch them in Monterey Bay . 15 traps, soak Wednesday until Sunday, and then Sunday until Wednesday. Always limit at 10 a person, usually five of us on the boat, always have crab on thanksgiving. I so love watching your videos, Micah. Awesome that you’re doing this on your own and still killing it. Oh, and we would use cut up Humboldt squid we would catch from WAY deeep. I know, different, and it’s not commercial or even a brag, just different. Love ya’ brah!

I miss Oregon. I moved there for about a year and a half in Sheridan near Mcminnville. I just couldnt handle the politics. I really couldnt handle it this past year. Loved going to Lincoln city to fish and Newport. Glad I'm back in a red "free" state.

Yeah the "seal blob" was a bunch of California Sea Lions. Our is LOADED with them, especially in all the main bays. Those were also them lions of de sea! Siletz Bay is, as every other place in Oregon, an instant stand out, with nowhere at all else in the world that is the same. Those "clams or oysters" are Mussels. It's painfully common to find their whole shells all up and down our coastline. I see that 3D motion text there! My man Micah's leveling up! haha

beautiful cakes dude, and that crust you are talking about is called the maillard reaction. It's defined as a chemical reaction between amino acids and reducing sugars that gives browned food its distinctive flavor. Seared steaks, fried dumplings, cookies and other kinds of biscuits, breads, toasted marshmallows, and many other foods undergo this reaction.
That was a great video. I'm kind of shocked that you didn't have anything to dip the crab cakes in. Maybe that was because they didn't need anything they were just perfect like they were which is really cool I don't think I've ever had a crab cake so let me know did they need something to dip them in would you have rather have had something to dip them in? And would they be good with coleslaw on the side or is it a meal in itself just how they are? Another great video though God bless you and your family can't wait to see more.
Thank you for using the same water you caught the crab in to cook it with. I see so many videos of people using fresh water... Also, bays seasoning is the beezneez when you dump some in the ocean water you're cooking them in.
Look for the little J hook marks in the sand, right on the shore dig maybe a foot, and you will find those sand worms, i grew up in gold beach...thats how we always cought them..works great

I was raised in southern Alabama and we did the same thing only with Blue claw crabs, and YES, they do make an outstanding meal!!!

dude if you like those you should try them with trout! I know how you dig your trout. just replace the crab with trout and maybe add some dill. friggin bomb. throw it on a toasted bun with some sauce and tomato. Boom,
I find cleaning dungee's is way better when they are alive smash them backwards in half like on the side of a sink on the sharp part of your truck bad or even a sharp rock they will bust in half rinse them the guts fall away and all that's left is the meat ..uncooked crab muscle sticks together when it's raw so it's way easier to do this then you just have two halves of crab with pure meat ...there is many a UA-cam video showing this method then when you steam them it doesn't take so long and the meat is more.white since the guts are not getting cooked with the crab

Tie .... then you wont loose your bait ever ... and you can attach them to a pole with 50lbs test or more , and cast out set your pole , then reel them in ..!!
If that bay runs into the Columbia River bar, be safe in a smaller craft. The mouth of the river into the Pacific is extremely treacherous.

Micah your are very talented and very good at fishing and catching crabs and fish and all other sorts of animals. To be honest idk how he does it I would just eat the chicken he is using as bait he is so entertaining as well!

Dude I live there we're one of those cities that it snows in the middle of summer it's 80 degrees and sunny in the middle of winter
You should try using your sturgeon rod and cast them instead of throwing them by hand. Also you can add a weight to the bottom of the trap to ensure that it lays flat on the bottom and also adds distance to your cast

bring a little net next time for the fallers . also you can also use cat food and just put a little hole in the can. cheaper bait. great video tho
