"This could have been a emai- state of play." I think there are a lot of individually cool things here but as a presentation it was less than the sum of its parts.
Games not appearing in this Showcase are .. .. Also many more Launch Trailers Posted the day of or after.. Would any of these raised the grade if they where in the showcase most likely not. Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless - October 3,2023 Bish Bash Bots - 2023 Sky Ocean : Wings for Hire - Soon PS5 Blood Bowl 3: The Lizardmen June 22,2023 Season 3 Pack 1 Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin Beta /Gameplay June Aliens: Dark Descent - June 20,2023
Kept seeing people talk about how great this was. Feel like people's brains have been so poisoned by gaming conferences prior to 2015-ish that they think any event that's just a nonstop reel of games is an automatic 10/10.
Better than Xbox show 4 games over an hour and 17 minutes lol at least Sony and Nintendo showcases/directs despite how boring people might find them for lack of "good" games they at least show games and keep the talking to a bare minimum if not at all! So there's that perspective
This show was not good. Indies, VR games and a movie in a Showcase event? I expected those in a SoP. Not to even mention the lack of PlayStation studio games. We got like what? 2 maybe 3 in a full hour? Nah
Yet there are some that will complain that if they do show surprises that are a few years out than what's the point of showing them in the first place. When they showed GOW Ragnarök & Spiderman 2 it took 2 years for those game to even come out. Most of the games shown in the showcase are this year & at most next. Besides games like Rebirth or Persona the respective publishers probably want to showcase these on their own presentations.
Wish I was able to watch this live but I had a closing shift so I've just been watching the vod on twitch. TBH, I would give this showcase a c+. There was a few 'eh I'm glad someone's getting something/I'm sure someone will love that' moments but the things I was looking forward to getting announced was nice. Like sure we knew that Dragon's Dogma II was coming out but seeing /something/ out of it was nice even though as ya'll said there could have been more. Also Bob saying "play the song!" was a real mood. I'm sure it would be a pain to get the rights again for that but if that was something that was in DDII I'd get it day one. I need to be the dangaaaan
pretty much, the encroaching viewpoint of live services over their first party is a worrying sign spidey is just spidey so its fine no matter what Dragon Dogma II was a godsend of being just Dragon Dogma but running well, also shows u can make platforms with magic just not explicitly told in a your face kinda way the worst is the meaningless trailer designs that do nothing than to say they exist for shareholders at most and PSVR 2 is just a pointless revision far too soon in VR life to retire the last one
@@etchyasketch2851 Not precisely, which is intentional. It's supposed to be a mystery that unfolds over time, which we are starting to see with a new quest that just released. If you want to spoil yourself on it,, a bunch of stuff about it is currently leaked that will be properly revealed as time goes.
The games they showed were fine, but I definitely expected more first party Single Player games. Not terrible but not great either.
Yo I popped off when they made the Marathon logo with the planet.
Like I know it was just a CG trailer but something about it just hit me.
I keep seeing outlets talk about how great the earbuds look like. Imagine. A whole hour of games and earbuds are the standout showing
That way it won't look strange when they don't talk about Xbox games either (because there are none)

GRUFF ANGRY PETER PARKER!
MAKE HIM SAY "SHOCKERRRRRR!!!"
Sony deadass looked at the wii u and was like "We want THAT!"
I bought a PS5 the day before this showcase, and nothing shown has made me want to not play more Tears of the Kingdom...
everyone who's glad that e3 is dead, remember that Summer Game Fest has been mid 2 years in a row

It was fine but this being the first Sony show after so long made it feel very unsatisfying
@@omegasmesh Yeah it wasn't terrible, but it was also not the big blowout after 600 days you'd expect.

This sure was a playstation showcase
The Delta is a trap, I'm putting it out there they might be doing a Final Fantasy 7 Remake with this Remake of MGS3.
Games looked alright, but zero surprises after two years without a showcase gives them a failing grade... Horrible

The people mad about Lightfall's story are about as mad as they are illiterate, so I wouldn't put much stock in it, frankly. It was fine.
Can you tell me what "The Veil" is?
