Been loving your music since I met you in 1981. Anisa is still devoted to mother Africa and I’m not sure any white boy in America has more respect from the indigenous people than you do 💖clave and shekere and bloc and ago-go are what I learned to play in the eighties . I was always at multiple of your gigs. Remember Anisa Gamal? I’m in the Pacific Northwest now.
Great video and playing obviously but about the product itself - i have one and i ilke the sound but i haven't been able to use it for anything more than just playing quarter notes. you can get an up hit by releasing the pedal but it's pretty hard to do so you can't really approximate the feel of a real shekere player. has Mike developed it's technique any further since this video?
That's some pretty killer independence and a very authentic approach to these great rhythms. Mike is the real deal!
Hell yea Mike! Inspirational as usual.
