Taiwanee Reef is submerged, around a 15m decent. Quite a strong current down there. We were near the top of the rocky out crops. No sand that high up to get kicked up.

Wow Marc that is an exceptional video, loved it! It must have been great to see that first hand. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. PS I don't know how anyone could give this video a thumbs down, maybe jealous people
Great! Had no idea there was a reintroduction program going on! Is this a common thing? Any ideas how you could get involved in this? Wouldn't mind volunteering for next holiday, got my diving licenses ect
It's a very long distance from where they're bred lake side, Kambiri Point, southern arm of Senga Bay. Also the releases need to be documented. The Saulosi already on the reef and those being released are recorded.
awww so cute!! wonderful work . Dose that fish farm raise fry and sell them to aswell as donation to the wildlife program? what river did you release the baby's into? thete freshwater right?
This is something I really like to see, it is hands on and trying to do something. Unfortunately I do not believe it will do much to change anything. I still love the effort and seeing it. All the best!
A like for you guys for protecting, re inhabiting a vulnerable species....and more for educating fellow hobbyists. It would be nice if people refuse to buy wild caught endangered species and professional breeders to come forward to save them.😀😀
I think whatever we do to help nature it doesnt make a big difference bcoz the nature alters itself...its like a video game once u die u respawn, it happens in the nature...
Maybe we baby our fish in the hobby a little too much but that looked like a stressful release in places to me. A lot of bag flapping and stressed fish. :( That said, I've not released any fish in a crocodile infested lake in scuba gear!
Sweet vid Marc. The lake looked much clearer in this vid. Glad to see people trying to make a change for the lake. Your the man.

Awesome video! Why does it take so long for them to release the fish?

What are the others cichlids with spots on its body?
Why are there numbers going down? Over collecting? Introduced predators?

I wonder how is the situation now in 2021. Did they rebound?
I was expecting to see a few hundred being restocked into the lake. Do half even survive to breed?
Unfortunately a few hundred were lost over the winter period
I love this video. Thank guys fir giving back rather than taking
What do you think guys, can i keep Ps. Saulosi in 250liters ?
BRilliant work
Love what u guys r doing but how many gets eaten up by bigger fish....
Will they survive, because of the pressure?
Great video Marc.
Thank you Andy
Am supposed to be doing a water change right now. Great footage.
Are those yellow lab fry?
No, they're Saulosi
Is this artificial lake or lake Malawi itself?
Great video. Greatings from Poland
Great job helping out this fish by reintroducing it back into lake malawi.
What was the semi circle at the reef?
Do you have a time in the video Adam?

Wild caughts are pretty common in the hobby. Run a quick google search and youll find plenty for sale
Will be nice if they can do this to lake tanganyika too. For certain endangered cichlid species
The release, such a cool thing to see, great job everyone.

Why Release ? because Saulosi empty in Taiwanee reef ?
Check the video description for links that will explain. Thank you
Should of acclimate them first and never mix the water in the bag with the lake.
Sushi Prince the breeding tubs are directly connected to the lake, the water from the lake is pumped into the tubs

It's not every day you get to practise releasing fish from bags at around 15m deep under a lot of water pressure.
