- Waqar Younis bowled a brilliant spell that helped Pakistan win that match and Waqar took 5 wickets for 52. This was the fifth test match between Pakistan and England in 1992 at the Oval ground. This was the Pakistan's tour of Engand. Young Waqar Younis was bowling with great pace.

Such a thing of beauty to watch. Such a pity, the stress fracture. I watched this as a boy in India, and couldn't believe my eyes. The smoothness, the pace, the swing and pride of it. Legend.
this is after the first stress fracture.
His run up and action is the greatest ever to this day next to Michael Holding's
I second that !
He was better bowler then holding in his prime infact one of the greatest
@@deepchatterjee3701 his prime record is unbelievable
@@danyalparacha1761 yep that’s what I also mean still if you see his odi record he has the maximum number of 5 wicket haul in odi as fast bowler
had a smooth run up but the thing that distinguished him was the late swing. See many deliveries how late they swinged. I have not seen many or rather any bowler swing it that late. How he did it was a surprise.
That is the reason why the accusations of "bowl tampering" began to surface when Waqar Younis started swinging it so late.
What so many people don't understand is what a fine batting line up England had in the 90's.
Alec Stewart, Mike Atherton, Graham Gooch and David Gower is wonderful batsman, and Waqar ran through them like a hot knife through butter. Extreme pace.
Plus Gream Hick and Rabin Smith.
Alec Stewart and Atherton were wonderful batsman? both of them were average Batsman.
@wonderwall S Alec Stewart is one of the finest openers England ever produced. He averages 40 as an opener in bowling friendly conditions. Most Subcontinent openers average the same or in early 40's with the exception of Gavaskar.
@@Warlock786 ever produced? do you know what ever produced mean?. His average is less than 40. Do you know what an average of 40 means in a test match? It means 20 runs per innings. this is not considered best through any specs.
Also why did you compare ones home ground stats with other batsmen away stats?
@wonderwall S you clearly haven't seen many matches that took place in the 90's' nor do you seem to know the role of an opener.
Opener is the hardest position to play is often times openers have the lowest averages. That coupled with batting in bowling friendly conditions against the greatest bowlers who ever lived. These were not Indian pitches that give almost no help to fast bowlers.
There were finer bowlers who peaked in the 90's than at any point in history.
My fav bowler. Waqar Younis. 😍😍
Wasim and waqar combo was the most devastating in test history. Swing, Genuine pace, quality, even on dead surfaces
Drugs.. drugs ..
Ambrose Walsh better than them.McGrath lee also
@@harrykumar7795 not in my opinion. Wasim waqar imran were quality in all conditions
Greatest strike bowler ever !!
Waqar Younis + Wasim Akram = Magicians!
Curtly Ambrose + Courtney Walsh = beasts!
Magicians keep beasts in their hats
He was the greatest of all times if lived with the same vigour without shoulder injury...
Waqar’s magic is also complimented by Richie Benaud ,Geoffrey Boycott, Dickie Bird and David Shepherd. Super classy commentary and umpiring.
I remember watching Waqar and Wasim as a kid and being in absolute awe of the speed and movement.
My favourite bowlers waqar &waseem Akram & Shoaib akhtar
Ran through such a formidable top order with the new ball and then the typical late swing with the old ball to get rid of Malcolm.
Absolutely marvelous bowling !!
Brings back happy memories Wasim and Waqar at their best whilst the world looked on in amazement and also suspicion.
and also fear!
Wiqi, a real Legend.. One of my favorite attack bowlers.
Now everyone who has been fortunate enough to have seen this guy in his prime. You will all relate to his genius talent and speed. People talk of the Shoaibs Lees and Stayens. This guy on song was express and absolutely fast back in 92. Even though he already had a stress fracture of his back. To me if they had used speed guns then this demon was clocking 97 98 99 or even 100 mph then
Absolutely spot on with your comment 💯👏👏👏👏👏
Agreed. He was easily above 150kph before 1992
A speel to be remembered and a lot to learn for youngsters
They were really the 2 greats of cricket for Pakistan 🎉
Sight for sore eyes. The perfect speed mechant
Remember David Gower commentating in 1992 World Cup after retiring from Odis. This was the last Test of Great Englishman.
Waqar and Wasim missed out on many wickets as there was no DRS those days.
Had DRS been available, they would have picked up many more wickets
And not forgetting some blatant bias from English umpires.
In sharjah umpiring biased.Akram waqar got more wickets in sharjah
1989 -1994 Waqar used to the most fastest and with old ball, almost unplayable.
He continously bowled above 150kph in this time
Waqar was absolutely express/rapid as quick as peak shoaib in 89' to 93
USIAN BOLT HERO WAQAR YOUNIS
start of the real golden age of pakistan, talent-wise. They were the team to beat (on paper) until 1999.
Waqar & Wasim were formidable.
2 Magicians - Younis & Akram
waqar the great bowler❤❤❤
late swing at pace - devastating. made top batsmen look like pub team players with no clue. what a bowler.
Waqar the great 👍 💕💕 1.Deadly Fast too....
Greatest bowler of our legacy of fast bowling
Agr coach na bnty to Pakistan Waly zyada izzt dety
Great fast bowler Waqar Younus❤
One of the best bowlers.
All his deliveries were like a homing beacon. Dead on point esp the "banana yorkers" and the lethal "toe crushers".
Greatest fast bowler of all time.
Outstanding amazing and last wicket was awesome yokar ❤❤
great players and great matches
Our first love in cricket
The only batsmen duo who broke the code (Waqar/Wasim) was the Australian legends duo (Adam Gilchrist/Mathew Hayden). Rest all around the world were made to rest in peace by Waqar/Wasim 😁😁
They both came at the end of their career otherwise 😂😂
Waqar and wasim gave Pakistan absolute bragging rights in the 90s
clean bowling action superb bowler waqar
Nice video 📷
Great swinging bowler
Fitness of Waqar younus
❤love u waqar
Legendary waqar younis
you don't see this anymore, no wonder the magic is gone.
Sultan of reverse swing
brutal younus
Great bowler
Kitne pyare din they,,,
Legend
World veteran bowler Waqar Younis
Last ball was the absolute beauty
if speed meter was in that era then what is the speed of this guy
Waqar you beauty, by all means
Reverse Swing is Ball Tempering if other's does it,but it's an art if White Cricketers does it😂😂
Legends
Boycott said in the press after that series that Pakistan could have bowled England out with an Orange, they were that bad…
It was a thore for betsmans
Botham, and the south african Alan lamb along with the biased English press called it ball tampering. Yet when jimmy Anderson bowls and take wickets it's called reverse swing.
Waqar did tamper with the ball a known fact. He was called a cheat by Mohammed Asif the best new ball bowler Pakistan produced up until now. Waqar used bottle tops used his nails scratching the ball transferring the weight of the ball helping it swing like a boomerang 🪃.
@@mohammedjamil2277really so Asif said that and you believe that 🤣🤣🤣 use your brain safraz nawaz learnt it first / he then passed it on to Imran Khan who then passed it on to the 2 W’s !! Even Boycott said it’s an art along with many professional players but Asif said that he’s a cheater and you absolutely believe that ludicrous comment !! So enlighten us all did Waqar and Wasim carry bottle tops in there pockets ? With all the crowd watching cameras all around the world telecasting the match surely would have picked it up right ? Next time don’t go by what jealous pakis say about each other it’s a common practice in Pakistan’s team politics
Way better than akram
Rashid lateef first test?
3:33
👍👍
Most of the time the left hand bowlers do to right hand batters now a days
First two decisions wrong by dickie bird ( who i like btw ) ..stewart wasnt out ..atherton was ..
Yes I also noted that
Sad he cudnt play for the 1992 world cup
England got wackered!!
He was deliberately dropped out of WC 1992. Otherwise, he would have been the man of the series. Everybody knows he is better than Wasim Akram.
World best one and only akram
Lower back stress fracture
Really deliberately dropped ? 🤣🤣🤣 chutiyaa he suffered 2 stress fractures in his lower back/ he was fortunate enough to recover well but he also lost his pace due to the severity injury/ most players never recover from 1 lower back stress fracture let alone 2 stress fractures!! Please do your homework properly before commenting absolute rubbish
He is. Wasim ruined his career.
🕋
This was the era Pakistanis ball-tampering, cheating match-fixing was its peak. As the camera quality improved, Pakistanis started to get caught one by one.
Typical jealous and chutia Randian spotted
now say this without crying 🤣🤣
@@salmanshah3846 brother-sister marriage causes retardation, as displayed in your comment.
as the camera quality improved it became apparent that have always been an idiot
@waqaskhon Only when Afridi eats balls. Pakistanis does ball-tampering and cheating even against Zimbabwe 🤣😂😂😂🤣and it shows how desperate they are to cheat in 2023 even with all the camera angle progress.
