Same. Actually, I’m trying to start my Lophophora collection. Hopefully in the coming years I’ll have plenty of Lophophora. I also love their fluffy hair.
Yes Sir tagal kong di naka panood ng video...you are the one who inspired me to collect astro's, I have some and I want to collect more, stop muna ko sa succs🥰✌....dami kcng nategi last summer😪...balik loob na po ako sa astro🥰
Thank you po! I can relate po. Most of them died po noong summer last year dahil naging busy at napabayaan ko po. Right now po focus ako sa mga cactus like Astrophytum, Gymnocalycium.
what a collection, wow. wish I had a collection like your, just start to love astrophytum my self. and I do like ypu do, buy it small and watch them slowly growing is very satisfied me. thanks for sharing and giving us an educations
You have a massive collection of Astrophytum cactus. I only own one. It is small. I don't know how long it will take to bloom. Most of my cacti are Gymnocalycium....I mainly grow cacti for the flowers. Looking forward to seeing many more of your videos.
I don’t think that’s the right way to reforest since most of the Asian Astrophytums are highly hybridize and not pure species. I also believe that not all Asians are to be blame for pouching. I haven’t seen any Astrophytums for sale here that were taken from the wild. I am sure that Filipinos and Thais haven’t pouched any.
Wow, you have the biggest Astrophytum collection that I’ve seen. Very impressive! Lahat sila may “Wow” factor. Looking forward to your care video. My Astrophytums won’t flower. 😭😕
Hi 👋🏻! I'm a fan of your UA-cam channel. I've been watching your channel since 2019 po. You're one of the reason I started collecting other genus of cacti. Nakakainspire po 'yung mga super bloom niyo. Astrophytums are so popular here in the Philippines. Almost everyone po mayroon atleast a dozen, maliit na collection lang po 'to compared to other collectors. Thank you po for watching!
Just came upon your page while looking at reels on Facebook. I'm am new to succulents and find that the cacti you grown very interesting. I think I will expand my small collection of succulents to include some of you cacti. If you have any advice on which to start out with, it would be appreciated. And you mentioned something about selling some of your own cacti. How would that be available to us. Really enjoying your videos. (Angie)
Hello Angie, I'm glad that my videos make you want to buy cacti. Cacti are very beautiful plants, especially when they flower. I suggest starting with a simple and small Astrophytum asterias, then slowly buying more expensive cultivars as you learn more about their care. Make sure to provide the cacti with a well-draining potting mix and lots of sun. You can check my other videos for more care. Unfortunately, I only sell cacti within the Philippines
Wow you have an amazing collection.
I’m totally impressed with your massive collection of this beauty. They are Immaculate 👌 I should have your talent one day. I’ve only just begun my own collection of various cacti, but the astrophytum myriostygma was one of my first. It survived and grew in its original 3” plastic pot with practically no help from me. I couldn’t help but impressed with this little soldier(:
Good luck with you cactus journey! Cactus are impressive plants. They can thrive on neglect as long as they are stable and healthy. Anyway, happy gardening!
Hi thanks for this great video love all the variety super amazing collections you got, I learned so much lot. I recently started collecting Astro. I actually started last year with succulents only but now...am slowly learning to collect as I learn more. Wishing you more success with your collection. Mabuhay Kabayan.💞
Thank you for watching. I am following you on IG, you also have a nice collection. Hopefully, you can add English subtitles on your UA-cam videos so we can share our knowledge and experience in growing Astrophytums.
Hello, I loved your UA-cam video, I would like to know if you can help me with some questions. what is the origin of astrophytum cacti? what is the genus? what is the scientific name?
Hi thank you. They are from Mexico. Genus is: Astrophytum. Astrophytum asterias Astrophytum myriostigma Astrophytum capricorn Astrophytum coahuilense Astrophytum caput-medusa
When did your variegated astrophytums started to show variegation? I'm frying to grow some myself, and i already grafted an albino one, but others seem just green, they are 8mo
Hi! I will be travelling to Thailand next year. I just want to ask how did you pack/transport the cactus through your flight? Is it allowed on the check in baggage?
I'm still new at cactus and succulents that time, and I didn't knew plants were not allowed in flights. I just uprooted and put them on my check-in baggage along with my souvenirs. I just found out that plants were not allowed on flights when I posted the cactus on a group. I don't recommend what I did, it is safer to acquire the required permits if you want to buy plants from Thailand.
Are you selling seeds of astrophytum ? I'm from India, and if you do so, i would like to buy. I want small amount of mix seeds for my own collection. Thank you 🙂 and you have really insane collection 👌🏻
Hello and welcome to my channel, I have other cactus such as Gymnocalyciums, Mammilaria, and other. I also have a few succulents, and Aloes. But yes, I mainly collect Astrophytum.
Nope. I only used akadama as a topper or top dressing. The soil mix is a mixture of pumice, perlite, vermiculite, akadama, cocopeat, peatmoss, and carbonized rice hull.
I made a guide on how I water my cactus. Hopefully it will help you. You can check it here. ua-cam.com/video/EuCutWNDKfw/v-deo.html I'll try to make an Astrophytum care guide soon. But basically: • Use a gritty soil mix 70% inorganic and 30% organic • Give them at least 6-8 hours of filtered sunlight. • I don't have a schedule on watering them, I just water them when the soil mix is dry.
Hello po, cactus price have already significantly dropped.
