Im Filipino American and I've unfortunately forgotten how to speak Tagalog at an early age seeing as that I was raised in the U.S. but watching this commercial I cant help but be moved despite the language barrier. it speaks in a universal language through the heart that most can relate too even if the words don't quite make sense. Its this humanity that gives us eternal optimism for life and the people who inhabit it even when something as bitter sweet as meeting your first love's family occurs

Same, I was born and raised in the US but could only understand Tagalog/Filipino.
The story goes:
Boy and Girl grew up together and became the best of friends until high school graduation. Boy is in love with Girl but is too scared to tell her. Girl is popular and gets asked on a date every once in a while. They had a falling out in College since Boy went to this University while Girl went to a different one.
Fast forward and they are now grown ups. Boy decided that he is ready to tell Girl that he's been in love with her when Girl asked him to meet up in their favorite place because she has a surprise. He is then momentarily heartbroken when he realized that the surprise Girl has been raving about is her having a husband and a kid.
Nevertheless, he is happy to see that Girl is happy with her life. When he did that fries and sundae thingy, Girl looks at him and realizes that Boy may have had feelings for her. Cue sad smile from Girl and an 'I'll-be-alright' smile from Boy.
The End.

I like this one than the Jollibee commercial.
There isn't a long, cheesy monologue, or slow-mo flashbacks. The affection between the guy and the girl is told through actions, just showing how close they are. And the look the girl gave to him in the end holds various meanings like who knows, maybe she harbored some feelings for the guy but due to certain circumstances, they never had the opportunity to explore that relationship and she ended up moving on from these feelings, finally meeting her husband.
And the guy was okay in the end. He moved on, though he still holds some degree of sentiment. Plot twist, yung Mcdo fries dipped in Sundae talaga ang first love nya, hindi yung girl (jk)
Maybe because this commercial has Eheads :P

I think this is a happy commercial. It shows that they could still be the best of friends even if they didn't work out as a couple. How come the U.S. never shows commercials like this? =(

ella elizabeth ako naman kay Miley Cyrus nong 2008. Nabasa ko sa magazine datinna fave nya magsawsaw ng fries sa ice cream and then coffee bean and tea leaf fave nya na frappe. I don't know if fave pa rin nya until now. Nabasa ko lang nakan yun sa mag dati.

The commercial itself is loosely based on a song called "Ang Huling El Bimbo" or "The Last El Bimbo" or simply "Last Dance" by Eraserheads, the song featured in this commercial.
The song tells the story of a guy who liked a girl for a long time but failed to confess his feelings and later, found out that the girl he liked had a tragic end.
My favorite part of the song goes like this: *Many years went by and we never saw each other again. I heard that you had a child but there was no father. I was told that you worked as a dishwasher. Then one night, you were killed by a car in a dark alleyway. All of my dreams suddenly shattered. Now, I can only with you in my dreams.*

The part where she got killed in the alleway "nasagasaan sa isang madilim na eskinita" the translation in English maybe got hit in an alleway but it is impossible because alleway is too small for a car. The hidden meaning is the word "nasagasaan" is censored for "nagahasa" which means rape.
