Although I wish the automatic one was the same size as the large version of the other one but still seems cool to me in st wish I'd find a flvideo review of it the clone versions n I mean
The new ones fire so much faster than the originals! The originals were a lot slower but that heavy blade sure made them kick. That's a great looking knife.
Man I love this knife, It is a beast, I bought the original adamas years ago, loved it instantly and bought the fixed blade, this is where my love of knives started to really take off, probably why picket tanks are the ones I love the most. Thank you Complex! I just gotta pick up the new auto Adamas and I'll have the whole Adamas family.
So wild seeing this comment. My love for knives started almost 10 years ago when I bought this knife when it was originally released. I quickly bought the fixed. I was recently in my local Gun shop which is a benchmade dealer and picked up a cru wear model. I had no idea they updated it and was blown away how much lighter it was.
THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO MAN! I really appreciate the SAFE AND DANGER FREE content you provide us with! lol really though you’re awesome and we love you! Everyone, if you aren’t a patreon or if you’ve been thinking about it, the time is now!
Love my full sized Auto Adamas. They are truly TANK knives. I wish that CRUWEAR was available when I got mine though. Tungsten is my favorite finish of your lot.
I like the hard opening/fast opening actions not bc I need it but bc it makes your knife feel way more premium. Just like having an auto over a manual, I don’t prefer one over another for function, my zt is manual and I have a barrage auto and a Kershaw launch that also fires out really hard especially for the price but now I really want to get an auto adamas hahaha. Idk why people hate on benchmade so much, appreciate the positive vid doesn’t seem like any punches were pulled looks like a very nice knife
Maaaaan you make it hard to choose auto or manual!🤣 Thanks always for the footwork that may assist those of us in the community, who may not have readily available access to handle product!
I started to order on but was like Id be using the axis lock for a deployment method Naw. But then I noticed myself subconsciously using the bar lock to flick my m4 bailout open at work when I had one hand tied up , so its no different. Im definitely getting one. Auto for sure.
Great review on a very cool knife. I almost got the manual version years ago, but opted for a Cold Steel Counterpoint XL. Quick question.. Why do some people hate on assisted open knives while thinking the action on something like this Adamas is fine? The only slight difference is how it's actuated. One more thing, MC. I have a SOG Quake XL that reminds me of this. Lemme know if you want to review it.
In your comparison section, why not compare the Adamas to the Microtech Socom Elite auto? The Microtech is much closer in philosophy of use to the Adamas than the Spydercos or other Benchmades.
I have beat the mini to well not death cause it’s still perfect… but as a lineman using it everyday for some pretty harsh things like skinning wire. Cutting riser off poles. All kinds of stuff it is an absolute beast of a knife. And just right. Full size one though? Just don’t need it. But absolutely yes if they make a mini auto sold that minute. Why not. Love it. Oh and that coating? It fking lasts. It smooths out a bit especially skinning wire and running the length down twisted copper but it absolutely is still there. Best coating I’ve ever seen. So yea where’s the mini auto benchmade??????
Benchmade will replace any blade on any knife they sell even if you got an old knife and the steel was upgrade. You have to pay for the new blade and the shipping and handling. I know they will replace the 154cm blade on the 940 for a satin s30v blade for $25(or $10 more for a dlc blade).
Thanks for the review, had a few brews last night and was watching videos of this knife and ran across yours, well after a few more beers I pulled the trigger on this from SMKW, I'm only 20 minutes away from their store here but I don't need the wife catching on, easier to have it shipped , anyways thanks for the review, can't wait for it
I've never had any luck with BM autos..... My springs always go out in the first few months of owning it. Then I have to drive an hour to the dealer....both ways....pay shipping.....and wait. Then go get it..... I've quit buying them. When my omega springs went out on my bug out...and they wouldn't cover shipping......I went to the hobby store and got some memory wire and made my own. Then sold them. Shame too..... I wanted to love them.
I hade a issued benchmade auto presidio a I got it from a army mechanic who melted the tip on a hummer battery , benchmade did not have that model anymore so they gave me store credit enough to get the new current model
Axis lock autos just do not make sense to me. I tried the 407 "assist", and it's just awkward how you have to position your hand to open and close it. Give me a regular axis lock and I'll be able to open and close it faster than any auto. With greater ease.
Thanks for doing what ur doing even as the evil overlords screw u over for no reason at all I'm eternally grateful that I choose to keep providing us with great knife content
I just don't understand why reviewers spend so much time measuring and weighing knives when you can literally go on any retailer's site and read those specs in 5 seconds.
Hard to say, my boss has a Benchmade Presidio II Auto which he’s had for some years. The auto broke, I put a new spring which cost me $3, and it’s auto again.
@@metal_complex there better be some kind of mistake, you don't even cuss for crying out loud. Some of the crap I've heard or seen these """youtube stars""" say/do is bananas and definitely not appropriate, and YOU get demonitized? UA-cam = BILL

@@metal_complex still waiting for an actual review. The algorithm is helping you by the way. It just seems like you have two videos that are unboxing videos.
I just have no love for Benchmade's axis lock, the knife may look hard use, but its fragile lock is ridiculously prone to breakage, more importantly after two decades Benchmade still has not improved upon the use of those two dirt cheap pieces of ultra thin spring wire named omega springs, nor as I can tell even tried! There has to be a way to improve that design with a pair of infinitely stronger coiled springs, as Wolff did with the Beretta 92FS trigger return spring! I just don't get why folks put up that type of design flaw, especially at $300.00 a knife, just an indefensible price point for such a troublesome mechanism, if they fixed the issues with those cheap omega wires, they'd have a whale of a lock, until they do I will never send a dime of my money Benchmades way....
Ya... there's way too much evidence on UA-cam, bladeforums, Instagram etc of Benchmades holding up to serious abuse. Idk what your story is man, but I'm just going to dismiss this as an unfortunate viewpoint. Sorry.
@@rossray9262 Ha ha, I simply speak truth of the thing, the omega springs are a source of concern that just should not be, they break all the time, particularly on the manual folders which are used as toys more than tools by the fidget crew. The reason for that is the amount of torque imparted to the mechanism via the most popular mode of operating it, forcefully flipping the blade open and closed, vigorously, over and over often in rapid fashion! Likely, at least in theory, this should be less of a concern in the auto's as they simply do not receive the abuse that manual folding axis folders get. Nonetheless, they routinely break, which is precisely why Benchmade's late great "Anthems" possessed a striking innovation within its integral body, a coiled axis spring! Curiously, both the knife, and that particular innovation have vanished in puff of smoke, why we can only speculate, perhaps they did not like the added complexity of a coiled spring, perhaps it was due to a letter of cease & desist courtesy of Spyderco, regardless it has disappeared and that is to damn bad. Keep in mind that the Spyderco ball bearing lock runs on a coiled spring, and as a consequence its much more reliable than the omega powered axis. Its just a matter of engineering fact, coiled springs are far tougher, and more reliable then singular piece of spring steel unless that singular piece is substantially dense!
Hey Chris I was just thinking that if you already have a preconceived opinion of not "having any love for Benchmade's axis lock" then why would you even bother yourself with watching and having a crappy opinion of the axis lock that is obviously on this particular knife to begin with. I don't particularly like cats...soooo in my common sense brain I would not purposely watch cat videos and then rag on the fact that in my opinion cats suck as pets...just dosent make sense.

Thanks for your excellent review! I just bought one today and love it! This thing is a beast!
They don't cover broken blades but you can pay for a reblade. I believe you can even ask them to change the steel on a model with multiple variations.
Every time I hear the name of that knife I want to watch Battle Star Galactica
So say we all!
Speaking of related tv, someone else commented that they'd need it to have the whole "Adamas family" (snap, snap!)
Any ideas on when Benchmade will make this auto with black g10 handle?
I wish it was easier to send back autos back to benchmade for service.
Cru Wear was the only logical choice for this knife. Seriously. I want one, bad. If they do a mini adamas auto, I will sell my soul to get one.
Same bro!
I wanted to ask if the model number 275FE-2 is that automatic or if that is the manual ,I am more interested in the automatic opener for a pack knife

I just ordered one off knifejoy. The fde on fde, the manual version

The "blood grooves" is longer on the newer knives. I'm guessing that's where all the weight loss is at.
Hells yes!! I would rather have the manual. But anyway you sent that up it's sick
I wish it had a thumb stud like my old mini barrage
I'll never understand why people hate on knife size. Don't like it don't buy it. Same for auto's vs. manual
if you can, also review the Benchmade Claymore. It's surprised me in all the ways an auto could.

Are these California legal
Nothing is California legal. Not even air or life.
Enjoyed video, thanks MC , good luck with youtube , is it possible to do a full video in the civivi fan boy voice ?
Oh boy, morning
That is amazing. Love Benchmade but one problem...price. But on the flip side, second to none customer service.
Same of the best warranty’s you can get for the price point.
One problem this knife has is that it opens while taking it out of your. I just bought one.
