those who know blofeld know that this is the superstar in this video . 16CH multitimbral matrix synth. It is still an underrated oldschool power machine.
The first song is an absolutely amazing song, the vocal samples, chord progression and drums are so emotive. Definelty my favourite all hardware performance on YT, thanks for sharing.
Dude this is simply great. 5am I sat here and watched the whole thing. I love the video as usual but the music is Where its at. Beautiful organic drum&bass feel
can you do some kind of workflow overview with the octatrack? your style is maybe my favorite and i think it would be really interesting to see what exactly the octatrack is doing here as far as composition, effects/mangling, sound design, performance functions. as far as i can tell, the most compelling pieces of non-techno on youtube octa performance videos are just pre loaded samples being played back on static machines with some transition scene locks also, you aren't pitching/heavily editing those vocal chops on the OT are you? i find that extremely difficult and usually just end up trying to do it in ableton. but i could just suck at the octatrack
well its a bit out of the scope of a youtube comment but i dont really have a golden rule, sometimes i do a lot of chopping / editing on the OT cause i actually like editing there and it takes me to unexpected places and sometimes i use longer samples (mostly for vocal phrases). in general i dont consider the tracks i put here to be spectacular in terms of performance. since the OT is my main tool of composition what i attempt to do is to compose a piece of music and play it until i feel its ready and then record it - i less want it to feel like a "synth jam" in terms of fx i use the plate reverb, delay and comb filter of the OT alot, i do master EQ / compression / limiting outside of the OT. the scene thing is tricky, on one hand i love it (like everybody else i guess) and the idea of bending everything with one fader, on the other hand its very easy to overdo it and sometimes i realize that its not really making my music any better so i try to restrain - in other words, i try to put composition before performance hope this helps
@@ylvatrax i meant a video overview, i dont know if you do those or not, but i thought i saw people commenting that you do show the process at some point. thanks for the answer though. i definitely overdo the scenes. that's very good advice. i appreciate the insight
unfortunately i dont think id be good in these kind of videos, ppl do ask for this but i believe that there are great tutors out there that will do much better job at this than me
amazing... do you use blofeld multitimbrally here ? i'm curious if seitching pattern on octatrack switches performance on blofeld - i'm considering to purchase blof to pair with digitakt's 8 midi tracks, and wondering if it is possible to switch presets on blof when i switch pattern on digi automatically
thank you. i use the blofeld in multi mode and sequence it from the OT, you can send program changes to the blofeld if you want (altho its not how i use it)
@Eve urloader hello, the multimode is pretty easy to operate, the only thing is to remember to save it every time you change it, otherwise you loose everything on next boot, here is a good tutorial to start with ua-cam.com/video/VluukuJ0CZw/v-deo.html
Everything you post is fire. Do you make heavy use of multitimbral mode on the Blofeld? I use it with the Digitakt but I have yet to dive into the multitimbral depths.
I bought an OT Mk2 literally 30 minutes ago and this makes me soooo excited, anyway amazing work as always!
looking forward to see you with octatrack Aldo
Can't wait to see what complex sequences you incorporate into your jams Aldo!
Serieux tu vas en avoir un ? Oh trop cool je suis sûr que tu vas faire des trucs super avec :D
@@Val_Cla Thank you so much guys! & oui j'ai trouvé un bon deal sur Reverb aujourd'hui, trop hâteee. :)
Aldo, I enjoy your stuff. I'd actually like to see you work with the OT and the Blofeld!

So each of the octatrack midi channels could play different notes and sounds on the blofeld?

That's it, I'm buying the full discography from Bandcamp! ❤
i keep coming back to all of your trax. heart music and brain music at the same time.
I'm here for the hands
and stayed for the j4m5
me to, them gloves strike again!
Really nice music, man! Your chord progressions are so melancholic but hopeful, I love it :D
Whoa, so good! Especially loving "glass wave"
You should be world famous. If you are, you should be more famous.
I absolutely love your Channel !!!! I play in the background when working and hanging out at home 🙏❤️ the backgrounds and colors are stunning.
6:00

glass wave - amazing!

Love the vocal stab/swells really nice texture. The rhythm is crazy cool
i think theres somthing on your hands lush beats btw
Damn good tunes. Very well done sir.
You should do a tutorial on idm beat via octa sometime :)
Great EP. I hear some Machinedrum and Burial influences in there ;) Nice low end emphasis and control.

5 am is where its at my friend 🖤🖤🖤
really incredible. Wow.
This is me, back to reiterate how emotional 'rush' is. It moves me.
solid! glad I stumbled upon this!
Incredible
I'm glad you put these in bandcamp ;)
thank you, friend
still amazing!
great, mate!
Best tunes I’ve heard played on a Sunday he Octa. If you made some tutorials on your process, I’d Patreon the shit out of them.
thank you my friend, unfortunately im not good in making tutorials, there are many very good tutors out there though...
amazing! loved every minute.
6:00 is awesome, I love this
beautiful stuff
that last track is dope!!
Fantastic!

So good as usual !
these are all fucking incredible but Lean is insane
Amazing! So good!
this is sick!
Very good job.
Jävligt bra!
Amazing as always! What is the device to the left of the Octatrack?
DOPE
Nice

Dude.
ot is sequencing the blofeld? you rock hard man
Love the voices on the first track... where are they from?

Finally something that sounds good on this machine 😅👍🏻
How do you sequence the blofeld like this from the oktatrack, sound amazing by the way,
thank you. i use the multi mode of the blofeld and send different midi channels to sequence the individual voices

I was going to ask the same question as her, thanks heaps, I’ll check it out
Just bought the ep too keep up the nice tunes
Lol this is gonna make me late for work
Everything you post is fire. Do you make heavy use of multitimbral mode on the Blofeld? I use it with the Digitakt but I have yet to dive into the multitimbral depths.
thank you 🖤 i usually use it with 3-4 timbers, ive found that more than that is causing it to be very unstable
please explain the 2 knob controller...?
its a simple midi controller, use it to make performance macros across the machines
@@ylvatrax I was asking this same question in your other video which you released recently. Now I know the answer...
By the way, how do you like using the blofeld with the octatrack? Isnt the blofeld multi-timbral? Can play on different tracks?
hi, yes, it is and thats how i use it
This is brilliant. What's that box on the left?
thank you, its a simple diy midi controller
Is that arduino based? Can you choose midi cc values from the midi box?
Are you using the Arranger on the OT?
Nevermind, I see you changing patterns now :) You're so quick I missed it.
