- I hesitate to show this on a video as it's just gonna drive more and more people to annihilate lobbies, but here we go again. Darkmoon Lobby + Elise is pretty much a GG if you live past turn 12. It's basically Friend of a Friend meta all over again... infinite over 2 turns and hundreds if not 10's of thousands of stats on board in 1 turn.

23:10 you do in fact need Brann to be competitive, it makes your exponential stat growth twice (thrice for golden) as fast and it’s important if everyone does the same thing and you need to outscale other people. Everyone has similar shitty experience of waiting through animations and APMing and with finite time per turn you gotta consider ways that make ur APM faster
yep, when the game is stable and it's about scaling. Doing so when we talk about it is bait since nobody else is pushing stats (we check) and we need stability first then we can level later and get bran (which we do). :)
Time and a place.
Bofur did a remarkable job of remaining calm and diplomatic when you can tell how bored he is of this meta. I am one of the casual players that will go try this out to see if I can find an Elise based on this video.
As of 1 PM EST today, Elise has been removed from the game in this anomaly lobby. Props to Blizz for nerfing this shit super quickly. It was getting out of control lol
Glad you made this video. I feel like Blizz probably (hopefully) knew about it and just wanted to let us go crazy with it for a lil bit before they take it away. Makes for fun highlights if it only lasts a couple of days.
Honestly, If anything is gonna change in the next update it better be the damn shuffling minions and the game calculating for 2 hours when you try to buy a card. Honestly how does a huge company as blizzard make games work than indie companies it's unreal
there's a big difference here between "you can possibly beat it w/ a perfect setup" and "you're playing optimally to get the best placement". Saying you need to dc to be competitive is referring to the later.
earlier i was in a losing position in the top 4 with a quillboar highroller in the winning position. managed to golden a braggart with moira, rylek and two birds to dupe the highest stat off of the enemies board onto my braggart a billion times. a rare win i was proud of :)
It just occurred to me that bofur is one of the hardest INTJs I've ever seen
haha I had to google the classification but that does seem somewhat fitting. Or at least the way that I approach playing this game ;) It's always interesting to see how people perceive you though a different medium (like UA-cam) and irl!
Clown car builds on golden lobbies are pretty fun
Pretty much everyone has uploaded one of these games, reminds me of friend of a friend plus bran, infinite with stats as big as billboards

The one Dog uploaded ended with him, a Scabbs, and a Tess (Slysssa) all doing this strat. His were really large (due to some skipping and golden Brann) and he tech'd double golden bramblewitch.
yep its just a silly anomaly setup atm. Funny to highlight and it's patched pretty quickly. Someday we'll look back and laugh at this being one of the most imbalanced states, similar to FoaF or Eudora 4-proc, etc.

I am so happy that I got to play three games with this anomaly before the patch. So dumb and toxic I love it😀
I had a game vs the copy left card in hand hero and he had infinite ice blocks with golden ended of turn effects, vs my full golden braggart build and we went 30 rounds till he gave up
I hate playing through this strategy hoping to go 5th even though I know how to do everything. I just can't apm fast enough. It really doesn't feel like that level of speed should be part of an auto battler. And I know bofur has sad the same even though he's good at it. On the other hand it makes for good content on UA-cam!
Yeah this will be out so fast. I've even pulled it off myself, and I am only a 7-8k average player.

Argent going from 1 drop to 7 drop is also omega toxic, makes scam impossible to build up in those turns
Listening to you get upset that you haven’t gotten anymore of the battle cry dudes after getting like 700 of them is hysterical. First world problems at its finest, but I like it
I played my first game of this without knowing about the line. At low MMR, (almost) nobody else knew it either. I played a pretty solid murloc line until the top 2, and I hadnt faced the other guy yet. When combat phase revealed 6 8000/8000 argent braggards with divine shield, I thought people had figured out how to hack battlegrounds. Blew me away.
The first time I got oops it's all beasts, I tried to hit banana slammer asap. I didn't hit, and just conceeded. It was boring and toxic since the start xD
yeah that's a rough lobby for the long-term. Funny novelty the first few times but it'll get super boring... soon. Or already ;)

I can already feel how annoying this Anomaly meta is going to be after a month
I like the concept of rotating some anomalies out over time as they continue to add new ones each Tuesday. Whichever ones are generally considered less fun will rotate and new ones can take their place.
@@bofur if they can keep it fresh I'm all for it the idea itself isn't bad just some of these make every game feel the same
at 27:35 you divine shield brann and elise, wouldnt you want them non divine shield so they can soak a poison? since any issue of stats gets resolved by big bragger?
fair thought. I suppose it's a tradeoff between having a poison soak + shield vs that immediate poison soak. If you know all minions are bigger than brann and there's no reason to bump divine shields nor hit twice (or maybe that a taunt is venom) then it'd be a nice option.
I feel like the main thing that needs fixing is the "reduce minion costs" reward. Just cap that one at "but no less than (1)" and we should be golden, no?
it'd still be very achievable w/ a simple brann or recycling wraith on board to go infinite as well.

You keep skipping the dragon that triggers battlecries, doesn't that work on the golden Braggarts on the board? Not that it really mattered in this game lol
It's a faster way of renewing a small golden braggart, instead of rebuilding it again
help i still dont understand why turn 12 specifically is the turn
Turn 4/8/12 are the turns you get access to the next tier of darkmoon prizes. Turn 4 makes them equivalent to the turn 8 prize, turn 8 a turn 12 prize, and turn 12 a turn 16 prize.
We need access to the spells from the turn 16 darkmoon prizes.
I literally cant get into hearthstone anymore. I took a break for a couple weeks because the game was a little tilting, and when I came back it felt like every game was ending on like turn 11 during peak quest meta (the one that just ended). Now it feels like the games are EVEN FASTER for the brain rot apm addicts. I dont mind watching other people play it, but I guess I'm just remembering when a 100/100 was fucking massive.
we're all facing this same problem right now, so I wouldn't be discouraged. It's literally day 3 of the meta. Nobody knows how to play well yet ;)
Yeah so glad this one is gone now. Did this exact strategy and I was Reno so I only needed one Elise for easy top 2.
if blizzard has no issues with skipping combat they need to put in a skip combat button
I thought the same but… If they do a lot players will skip games and it will become required to be competitive. Doing it now is annoying and can lead to bugs so you only do it when it is needed. Watching the combat and hoping, is an important part to the fun of the game.
@kustow.967 I agree, in my opinion it's an issue and should be something that's not rewarded. So if they aren't making it accessible they should have a set turn length, and show "waiting for combat to end" or let people spectate between fights and the shop.

so far that's what they chose to do. As of this afternoon Elise is banned on that lobby.
These anomalies are about as fun as diablo except diablo is only in for a few days. Sad!
def not the best one in the bunch. overall they are fun for now, but there'll always be some abusable stuff that needs nerfed.
Let’s be real everything they add to the game kind of breaks the game lol: some heroes have better buddies, some quests on some heroes win the game. Anomalies are no exception, this mode is one of 50 possible modes or whatever and not everyone plays BG’s like 8 hours a day lol, it’s just meant to be a random fun thing. And while it is broken and probably feels stupid to someone trying to compete at a high level (and I agree) I also don’t really see why it’s such a bad thing to be honest 😊
