This was a genuinely interesting experiment, really fascinating to see the guns through this perspective! Didn't realise the MP5 was so old, either! Brilliant work as always with the editing and music choice!! :)
Yeah the mp5 is pretty outdated and sees little combat use these days. Thats true of most SMGs. Short barreled rifles have pretty much taken over that role because they hit so much harder than pistol calibers.
The Mosin-Nagant is a working class gun. You must go into raids almost naked to unlock its full power. Go in over-geared, and the rifle will be stubborn to do what you want it to do. Go in screaming, no armor, absolutely greased up on stims, you will kill the whole lobby.

the kris vector has zero recoil due to a thing called "Kriss Super V which allows the bolt and an inertia block to move downward into a recess behind the magazine well. Genuinely i have 0 issues with the mosin, especially with iron sights, but props to you for sticking it out so long! Brilliant video man and definitely got me wanting to try the VSS and vector now.
If only Tarkov showed some of the major problems these guns had. For example Sig Spear has a problem where if you reald TOO the mag can go inside the gun making it unoperable until you pull it a bit back down or how it has 2 charging handles, with the rear AR style one being redundant and super stiff which is only there due to US military was too scared of the gun having the charging handle in a different place and it causing training issues lul.
I hate to be that guy, but the mosin in tarkov is the 91/30 and the m38 carbine, and the 91/30 PU sniper. All of which were modifications to the original m91 and actually made in the 1930s
the problem with games and ironsights is that the don't work properly if you engage at anything over 30yards or so. If you have looked down the sights of a firearm in real life, your target will appear far bigger in your field of view than it can appear in a game (at a specific range) unless you have some giant wall sized monitor or play at like 20 FOV. plus its far easier guiding your aim with your arms and tracking a moving target than it is using a mouse to follow a target left to right.
I've used, maintained, and handled a Steyr AUG that was given to me by my late uncle. The Steyr Aug that you've used in the game is the A1 version which is the first Aug to be produced. The initial recoil is more controllable than the M16 or the AK which was the competitor of the AUG. The bullpup design also makes it shorter, useful for CQB or urban combat, you can just also remove the barrel by just twisting the foregrip allowing for an easy maintenance. The problem with the AUG is that since it's a Bullpup, the Trigger is much clunkier than the conventional triggers such as the double action trigger found on Glocks. Because of it you might feel a small delay between pressing the trigger and the gun firing. Fun fact: The AUG means Armee-Universal-Gewehr, or Army Universal Rifle in English.)

Love this. This has kind of always been my argument against the flea (it's here to stay, I'm over it) - the game with freely available attachments and whatever gun we want is an entirely different game. A couple attachments and the same scope we use on every other gun tends to be the more common approach and it's just so samey - much more fun struggling with irons or some random scope we found in raid. Like an OG PUBG, everyone loading in with melee only or a pistol with a single mag and having to find their kit would be a hell of an event. MP5 coming from the 60s still makes me chuckle, it's the iPhone (purdy and branded) Sten lol Edit: War Movie M4 bestest M4! 2.5x Prism or the 4x for the DMR experience - and shoved half a foot above the barrel on that carry handle.
Acog for a 90s AR is a no but I like your thinking. Most AR’s issued in the 90s did not have optics and the ones that did largely had red dots only. I think this would have felt like a downgrade after the aug (which was very ahead of its time) so I can forgive it
Think you could have gotten a kill with the Mosin much sooner if you kept the intended engagement of medium range. You keep dying when you pushed into CQB where the Mosin is completely outclassed. Even if you miss at range, you are far enough to get adequate cover and time to deliver follow up shots
It's crazy how much ammo availability effects a guns lifespan and utility. The mosin is actually a far worse design than dozens of later bolt action rifles but because the Russians still use 7.62x54r PKM machine guns they still make the ammo for it! Any of the old Mauser designs are better but basically no military keeps 7mm or 8mm Mauser.
the mosin nagant 91/30 was a modernization of the 1891 rifle. The barrel was 2 inches longer had different iron sights with a different graduation. So you arent running it as it was in 1891 you are running it as of 1930.
I feel like your chances of getting the Mosin kill with the second bullet are a lot worse since the recoil changes. You use to be able to heavily aim slap someone or the sudden bullet jump / camera shake would allow a second chance but some of the guns can spray from pretty far now. (And didn't they change thorax health to stop a mosin one shot a while... like a few years back?) It's funny to see how much something that is meta or viable can change from patch to patch in Tarkov. I was using a slightly modded out veper-136 and got three hits on and unsuspecting MP7 player yesterday who still turned and put more bullets into me than my recoil would ever allow me to put down range and was about 50 meters or so, not really that close for 1x scopes.
YOu need to start believing in yourself ramen . You keep saying you dont have good aim but you have one of the best aim right now, just like that nasty one tap with the AK.
I'm having a rough go at really learning the game. I've been playing on and off for a few years, but I've never played through a full wipe. I would often get burnt out easy because I don't know what I'm doing half the time and lose a lot of gear. I've been doing a ton of research after hearing we're getting closer to wipe, so I can come into this one with a fighting chance. Any tips to get me on the right track?
When using a Mosin iron sights or ANY iron sights on ww2 rifles DO NOT GO AGGRESSIVE, the enemies can easily take you out with their full auto and better sights, its good to hold an angle and wait 😊
looks like you were consistently aiming too high with the Mosin - sighted at 100m (Arshin, technically, which makes it about 72m at combat zero) it would make sense that your bullets would be giving dudes haircuts that close up
Idk how different the mosen is in tarkov to arena breakout but I mostly run mosen with no scope in arena breakout when I do missions and just want to farm gear😅

The mosin is built/sound effected like ass in this game. Very powerful rifle, very sleek for its time
I'm having a rough go at really learning the game. Any tips to get me on the right track?
play on customs, learn customs extraction (google the map), find ppl to play with
When using a Mosin iron sights or ANY iron sights on ww2 rifles DO NOT GO AGGRESSIVE, the enemies can easily take you out with their full auto and better sights, its good to hold an angle and wait 😊
lol as a timmy i remember killing a guy with my noob stick and getting the mdr for the first time. it really is easy mode. jesus.
7:50 scooby doo ah fight
you could have done 1911 after mosin
looks like you were consistently aiming too high with the Mosin - sighted at 100m (Arshin, technically, which makes it about 72m at combat zero) it would make sense that your bullets would be giving dudes haircuts that close up
Shouldn't be the 1911 in this video? Between the mosin and the svt
do this but wearing the kit of that era 😂
Idk how different the mosen is in tarkov to arena breakout but I mostly run mosen with no scope in arena breakout when I do missions and just want to farm gear😅
Should've run factory and just sat in a corner, the ol Russian Ambush.
