This is a very good channel with very good content, keep it that way. I am a SAP MM Consultant and was inspired by you to create my own channel, related to SAP Material Management topics.
as i m new to sap, so i hv lots of doubt i want to ask that can we use sap erp without any database software i want to know that why DBMS is import for sap
Interesting. There is some doubt it can perform as well as Oracle In-Memory however SAP is not certifying Oracle for S/4 for example. There is anecdotal evidence that Oracle in-memory outperforms Hana. Hana is being promoted by one of the largest software companies and can therefore afford to drown out any criticism by virtue of its size and volume of promotional information. However the truth is SAP is using its monopoly in the ERP market to sell a database without allowing any other database to compete in the same arena. Sounds a bit like monopolistic practices to me. I don't work for any database manufacturer or software vendor. I know a fair bit about SAP.
Although you have provided no anecdotal evidence that Oracle in-memory outperforms Hana, and the same argument could be made about Oracle products and services.
HI Shankar, Great question and sorry for the delay! Here is what Bradley had to say: SAP HANA is an ultra-high speed in-memory databased designed to work as the back end for a number of different applications: ERP applications, Business Warehouse applications, CRM applications, and others. Product suites from SAP like S/4 HANA and BW/4 HANA incorporate the applications themselves along with the database, allowing companies to have better insight into their core ERP and BW data. So, while HANA is similar to a Data Warehouse, it's designed more for real-time intelligence than a traditional data warehouse would be.
The worst name ever ... and it hasn't gotten any better SAP S/4HANA sounds like an algorithm Im not sure how anyone would deduct SAP HANA is a database. As far as naming products this is right up there with AWS's Cloud services.
Wonderful demonstration in limited possible words and great board description. Thanks alot sir. Very informative.

Quick question, does the collaboration with SAP HANA cannibalise in IBM's Database SW like Db2?
Amazing demonstration
Net Weaver is amazing! I can dev an application and integrate it with S4/HANA? I can’t wait!

Can a mechanical engineer pursue HANA with MM module?
one my dad's friends got a bachelor in electrical engineering and he does hana
Isn't it similar like our simple traditional 'Data Warehousing' Concept with some extra Features ?
