Some games let you get away with it once you're skilled enough though. In Gothic even the simplest enemies can kill you at the start of the game, you need to learn how to time swings, etc to fight properly. Once you have, you can start from the beginning and take on a Troll, ok it's going to take several minutes, but if you have the skills, you can do it.

I don't have that problem. I'm good with racing games, and grew up playing CTR, GT, and MK (Crash Team Racing, Gran Turismo, and Mario Kart, if you don't know,) and overtaking an opponent as they brake works for me. Just stay on the inside of the corner, and you'll push the other cars out of the way as they keep you in the lane and overtake them. Just make sure that you actually can hit the car, or you *WILL* be sent flying. Although, you can just drift in MK and CTR.

Yeah I don't consider games before the first Xbox or Playstation really true video games, the reason is because anyone can play them at their maximum efficiency. Spend all your in-game gold/money on cosmetic items instead of Weapons/Potions/Attacks, ya know, things that you actually need.
We've all been there, you've just spent the last hour or so grinding missions or random encounters and have a nice little stockpile of gold burning away in your virtual pockets. You've made it back to a merchant or shop and take a look at the items. You could, and most likely should, be grabbing a few heath potions, eithers or in the case of JumpForce, a new flashy, more powerful attack. But instead you scroll down to the new costume options.
Sure, some games actually incentivize a costume change with new abilities or increased armor stats with elemental resistance. But you don't care, look that one comes in all black and has extra zippers on it.
We all want our protagonist to look their coolest during the in engine cutscenes, so why wait until the end of the game to get the coolest looking option? "I've got plenty of health and ammo" we tell ourselves, "I can get that ability later". Until we get to the next mid boss and they totally wreck us because we were ill prepared.
But we looked cool doing it.

#4 is not something that shouldn't be done, it's a challenge that we gamers must overcome. DON'T settle for the boring win, git gud and EARN that awesome win.
Would Ezio cheese his mission with a bunch of throwing knives, or would he methodically sneak past ALL the guards and find that PERFECT perch from which to dive down for that AWESOME air assassination? I think we all know the answer to that.
Would the Monster Hunter hide behind his huge shield and noob poke the Elder Dragon to death, or would he charge in with a flailing greatsword and barrel bombs to land that final hit that will explode both bombs in the sleeping monster's face? Again, we all know the answer to that as well.

#1 To see if you can: swim, sink or drown in water.
#2 Choosing the wrong subclass just because their gear looks better. ( like choosing warlocks when you know you are better at head on combat )
#3 trying to delete your data off the console so you can start your game again ( Xbox people know what I mean )
But if it happens to be a Ubisoft game- you'll never get rid of saved data! And have to use a new account. Meh.
#3 outrunning mpc's to the fight site. They often walk too slow; and even though they are explaining you simply have no patience for the chit chat.
#4 quickly pausing awesome scenes to screen shot! Then you set it as wallpaper as you have no friends to otherwise share it with.
#5 Trying to look up. ... Trying to look down. In some games you simply can't.
#6 Buying the sword instead of the healing potion and regretting it later.
#7 Beating a bigger boss by constantly running off into the bushes until your health reloads - haha ( I'm the king of that ) aand it could sometimes genuinely take 2 hours.
#8 opening engrams too quickly in Destiny coz you have no patience to level up and get better gear!
#9 mimicking mpc accents when off the console in everyday life. Or good cutscene punchlines. Or any dialogue- making people think that you are crazy.
Ahh I could go on; I grew up in front of video games!
