Car made 460 Rwhp / 431 Ft/Lbs
Tuned at G-Force Motorsports in Pearland, TX
I would have never thought a stage one would sound this good 😂
😍
Stage is subjective, this stage 1 cam is very similar to BTR stage 2 (which is a more popular cam)
@@unknownstudd69 was just going to say this! I was just comparing these specs to the btr cam. Pretty aggressive cam specs for a “stage 1”
You can adjust the idle timing correction parameters in the tune of LS cars to give the idle rpm a wider under and over range so the rpm can oscillate more before the computer tries to correct/smooth the idle, thus giving it a firmer lope like in this video. It will change it from a messy lope to a solid thumping lope like in this video. Basically you let it lope like it wants to, without the computer interfering and attempting to smooth it out.
All in the tune
Bro it sounds so good... fingers crossed ill be cammed soon
\../ it was worth every penny!!
That doesnt sound like a stage 1 cam. Very nice sound indeed.good job
My car is in the shop now for a cam upgrade, I’m excited af man. This thing sounds amazing!!!
reading through the comments and i read this one. i just dropped mine off monday for a tsp stage one cam install i cannot WAIT to get it back
@@kasonmerrit3235 it’s nothing like have a cammed Chevy bro 🔥🔥
@@Race_Ready_1320 I have borla ataks, long tubes with cat delete, x pipe and cai, so hopefully it’ll be pretty healthy
@@kasonmerrit3235 yeah it’ll sound crazy with that setup bro
This video is why I also got a stage 1 on my 14 SS
Hell yea dude glad to hear that!!!
Been thinking about getting a cam for my ‘15 SS.
nasty bro very good numbers too
Holy shit that gave me goosebumps
I want to do a cam like that in my 2021 6.2l Trail Boss. I will have to delete DOD lifter and do a few other things but with that 10 speed and tune it will scream.
How’s the driveablity with this cam on the street? Stock convertor still?
Stock converter.. little jumpy at idle but nothing you arent able to handle.
sheeeesh, sounds really nice. i daily my camaro so idk if i should do stage 1 or 2
Either one would still be daily friendly. But a stage 2 I’d recommend a higher conveter with it
What made you convert to LS3 I’m thinking of keeping VVT and going with GPI
Man i just felt like maybe it was simpler just to cut it out and go traditional cam. The VVT seemed intimidating as far as install but ive heard they put down some really good curves.
I was thinking of same thing Ryshan going with a stage 3 GPI cam with a 3600 rpm converter
Does the manual Camaros with the LS3 engine already have the LS7 lifters?
Yes
Would a TSP Stage 1 N/A LS3: 225/236, .629/.615, 114 LSA chop the same ?
How is it to drive? Was thinking about a stage 1 but it’s my daily currently, worried it will be harder to live with in traffic.
I’m looking to cam mine as well. I heard that the stage 1 is very daily drivable👍.
Its super daily driver friendly. I like to keep the miles off it it in the long run but if you were stuck driving it M-F it wouldn't even be a thing.
@@Crisko591 thanks!
What Texas speed kit did you buy?
Was the idle tuned to make it chop more than normal?
They did set it up at 750 rpm. I believe stock setup is around 550 but it’ll barely stay running with a cam at that idle 😂😂 I wouldn’t say it was tuned for more chop I just made sure I picked all the right numbers on the cam. This one had a 112 LSA. Tighter the angle better the chop.
What all did you need to buy for this cam because I want to get my dad one for Christmas
I added in Phasteks LS3 conversion because mine was the auto with the AFM/DOD lifters because they are prone to fail under even normal circumstances.
stock stall ?
what were your gains from the cam ? those are some nice numbers
Overall it was about 90+hp. Converting it from the DOD system to a more true LS3 helped in part. This motor in stock form only puts like 330 to the rear wheels
Is this whp or crank?
@@mrspinyablock6936 sorry for the late reply. That’s rear wheel. It was around 370 rw with just headers and the 460 after the cam.
How much was the tune and if your tuner does it by email can you send me his info please
@@andycastellanos366 I think like $450 but it was a little cheaper since I had gotten a tune with him and I’m not sure you can look him up Clint @ American intense racing here in Colorado
Do you have to replace springs and go to hardened push rods
Yes I did the steel double springs and the hardened 7.400” pushrods.
@@Crisko591 did you notice quite the difference?
Removed cats or high flow cats?
High flow
How much horsepower u making
460 rwhp / 432 ft/lbs
Brooo whats the exhaust u got on as well?
Sorry for the late reply. Bbk long tube headers, mid x pipe and borla atak axle back
@@Crisko591you good preciate it 👌
What is your idle set at?
About 750 rpm
@@Crisko591 nice, thanks! Did you drop a base tune to get it to the tuner, trailer it, or just ftw drive it there?
Noooo way, tell me all your addons and specs
Just the cam and the LS3 conversion to delete the AFM/ DOD. Swapped in LS7 lifters. All running on the stock converter.
Hey bro I’m wanting to cam my Camaro as as well and want this cam! Could you give me the link to it or the exact name of it? I spoke to a Texas speed representative and he gave me the LS3 cam kit is this the same one? I would love my Camaro to chop as hard as yours
It’s Texas Speeds Stage 1 Cam with I think a 113 LSA (i went 1 degree tighter than the default which I believe was 114) but other than that it’s off their shelf stage 1 cam. Actually here it is lol
www.texas-speed.com/p-5760-tsp-stage-1-ls3-na-camshaft.aspx?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAi6uvBhADEiwAWiyRdkPzGh3K34UW0zCUFY21K0qBgVGEyPBbiAb2BXEiB2ah7BcT8rCSihoCUFcQAvD_BwE
Mine was an auto so I did the VVT delete kit, got 7.4” pushrods and did the trunion update for the rocker arms to reinforce them. Along with lifters since the vvt lifters are no good. If yours is auto get anything EXCEPT LS7 lifters. When I traded in the car the guy that bought it found me on here and told me the lifters let go. Just some extra Info lol.
@@Crisko591 yes mine is auto planning to delete the vvt and dod as well. What’s so bad about the ls7 lifters? Any info helps!
@@coronavirus6735 apparently they don’t hold up as well. Like they have a high chance of collapsing or something. I was told back then that they were beefier but from what I can tell they aren’t much different than the LS3 so if I did it again I’d go just stock LS3 lifters.
Where can I find the kit for the l99 to ls3 conversion
I bought mine from Phastek. Looks like they’re out of stock. But I see Gawtney Performance you can search the cam kit and pick each item and build out just the AFM delete (same thing) and it’s around 900$. Head gaskets, lifters, valley cover, head bolts, timing cover, etc.
@@Crisko591 sweet definitely gonna check them out I need a cam already your sounds so good 🔥🔥
Are stage 1 cams more reliable and last longer?
They aren’t more reliable per say but they keep you from having to do the other supporting mods like torque converter so it’s just less things you have to buy. Aside from changing valve springs because of the abuse the high lift puts on them it just continued to rack up the miles like it didn’t care lol.
@@rynechristesen2392 how much is it per year for a cammed car? Lol compared to non cammed
@@mikehogan5087 I’d say your fuel cost increases about 30-40%. I did a trip from houston to FL and had to stop for gas a couple more times than I would have when it wasn’t cammed. The only thing you have to plan for otherwise is valve springs every 15-20k. Unless you don’t beat on it then you could Probly push that window if you had to.
@@rynechristesen2392 how much are valve springs?
@@mikehogan5087 I think they’re around 250$
So is this the l86 vvt 1 cam?
Nah I converted to the traditional 3 bolt cam.
What is the LSA?
Their stage 1 is 114 I believe.
Their standard is 114, I opted for 113.
Great sound but I also wanted to hear you rev it once or twice!
Ahh damn lol good point I shoulda smacked that limiter a couple times 😂
Straight pipe?
No. Long tubes and high flows. They really let these engines sing.
@@Crisko591 e85?
Choppin 🪓🪓🪓
Wtf sounds like a stage 3
I had them give me a 113 LSA rather whatever the standard it for their cam. Helped it out a little
Info on cam?
Texas Speed stage 1 LS3 cam. .629/.619, 225/236 dur on a 113 LSA
@@Crisko591 I just got this, did I fuck up..... I want mine to sound like yours in my c7 lt1

5 LT1 VVT-1 Camshaft w/ +32% Fuel Lobe: 227/231,
.635"/.635", 116 LSA, 110.5 ICL
@@Jesus-warrior mm i would assume with that higher LSA it might make a little more stable idle rather than choppy. Id actually be curious to see the power numbers before and after with that VVT setup.
@@Crisko591 hey bro i know it’s a little late but i just got this same stage 1 TSP LS/LT cam and i’m .629/.629, and a 223/233 duration on a 114LSA. so on my 13 ss will it sound similar in comparison to yours i have the lifters all that etc same setup you got basically on my stock converter
All the ppl saying a stage 1 can’t sound that good…. U can make any cam sound like this . That’s fake chop done by modifying the spark and shit . There’s natural lope and fake lope
This is pure cam chop based on its specs. Unless you’re just referring to that ghost cam crap everyone does lol.
@@rynechristesen2392 no I was just saying in general for the ppl saying “ no way a stage 1 can sound like that “
@@greggrant4080ahhh gotcha lol my mistake. Yea I had a couple ppl completely call me out saying ain’t no way 😂
Lmao no way you pulled 460who out of an L99 with a stage 1 cam
Says in desc its converted to ls3 and that's a pretty aggressive stage 1 cam I'm sure it's around 450
@@The412Devil yea I've done the same exact conversion on my camaro. It doesn't matter it's still an automatic which is gonna result in more drive train loss and lower horsepower numbers. I have a stage FOUR GPI cam, 3600 stall, ported intake manifold and im pushing 470. He either has a lot more done, running a bigger cam than he says he is of he's lying about his numbers
@@ZL1Dnero or you lying you dont even look old enough to drive
@@The412Devil yea you should probably go back to playing little video games instead of speaking on stuff you're not knowledgeable on
@@ZL1Dnero go back to making your shitty high school exams boy you better delete that shit. Let's see your camaro
If you see this comment I bought your car 2 years ago!!!!! I still have it
Haha no way!!!! That’s awesome 😂😂
I can’t figure out DMs on here. If you have Instagram go find @Crisko18. My pic will be the same as here.
This not no stage 1😂😂
Yessir lol I’m amazed at how many comments deny it lol it is in fact. It’s got a tighter LSA than off the shelf though.
Sounds like a piece of junk actually, can't even idle without choking? Even if it was properly tuned, a Tesla would whoop it's azz in a drag race.
Hey man! Can you DM me I have a important question for you
