I will have to crack my XBoxes open and take a look. I have heard if the clock capacitor is a gold one, don't take it out. That is a high quality capacitor. You mainly worry about the black ones.
@krathoon2338 This is true, those are from a later revision model (version 1.6) with a better capacitor. However, some people are now suggesting replacing those (I believe that model requires the capacitor for the console to function so you can't just remove it and go), simply because all models of original Xbox are pushing 20+ years. But they're much less likely to malfunction than all prior models with black caps

Some Xbox motherboards are repairable . It depends on how much damage the battery did .
