This track actually was featured during the pilot episode of Miami Vice when Crockett (Don Johnson) along with Ricardo Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas) was cruising in his black Ferrari Daytona. I actually use to play this in my Camaro ZL1 while cruising in the night.

Crockett and Tubbs riding through the Miami Streets in a convertible. It’s dark, Crocketts hair is blowing in the wind. Tubbs loads a sawed-off shotgun. This song is playing and you know something is about to go down. Coolest show to ever grace a tv screen.

I always knew that when (not “if” since this was too inevitable for HSCC to cover eventually) HSCC does this song that Danny would be the lead vocal. I’m as much of a Lopresto fan as anyone, but boy was I thrilled to Brad sitting front and center!! As soon as he sang the first note, I was thinking “this is about to be epic!” I know I’m not the only one who found it strange at first to hear/see Brad singing without playing the drums at the same time 😳. The guy is so good at doing something that seems so difficult that he makes it look normal 🤷🏾♂️🤣. Brad’s vocal tone was absolutely perfect for this 👍🏾👍🏾!! The only thing better was the look in his eyes and the anticipation that I know everyone had to feel when he slowly reached for the sticks 👀🤣🤣. You just knew what was about to happen, and yet it still felt like the first time you ever heard it 🤣🤣!! That drum break has to be one of, if not the most iconic in music. Also, big kudos to the instrumentation in this one. You all took such great care of the music… as you always do 👍🏾. There’s a difference between caring for the music and just playing. Wonderful job my friends!! HAPPY HSCC THURSDAY EVERYONE!!!! 🎉🎊🎉🎊

Go Brad! I was sitting here just as it started and then thought "OMG, this is going to lead to that drum solo!!!" The anticipation in this song is excruciating. You want it to happen but also don't. One of the least action tracks ever (at first), apart from watching Jordan's concentration. I would have messed up the octopad by that time. Superb once the main part kicks in. Kudos to all for holding out. Powerful song, well executed. Love from England x
Ha ha, I was thinking something along the same lines - "Man, I wouldn't want to be the one to screw up the song after many minutes into it by hitting the wrong beat on that octopad!" Good job, Jordan!
The beginning of this song sounds simple but in reality it is extremely difficult because there are so many layers and everything is so exposed that any wrong note or rhythm would be immediately noticeable.

Even before the iconic fill a whole bunch of the way into this, I thought to myself "legit". Legitimate. This is just a perfect rendition of something that was perfect then. Phil Collins should hear this. A HSCC victory, this one. Brad Polain is a boss man.
