Oh nooooo!!!! PSA::: Water in the tiny jars with a cork ends up leaking. I learned my lesson and switched to the tiny jars with the metal lids. This travel Altar is adorable! Great idea!!
I find it very encouraging when an artist post their failed and then post a success of the same project. When you try something new to you and it doesn't work out you can feel very deflated and never want to try again. However, if we can see that artist we respect have those same issues then we don't feel as that and it's a matter of fact we almost expect to have a failure to and that's a good thing because we always will.
Thank you so much and I couldn't agree more. There's always ways to improve when you try again! It happens to the best of us!! Appreciate you watching!
Loved every single one. Even the new take on Abstract Art (clay). I have bought almost every single thing you had and now I know what I can do with them. So much inspiration. Thank you. Merry meet, Merry part, to Merry meet again. Subscribed
this video is just incredible, I’m a witch for 4 years and these tips make a lot of sense and are incredible, because whenever I go on trips I’m always innovating things / ideas, but I really enjoyed seeing your ideas, I’m sure I’ll do it 💜🐚🪴
New subscriber, I ADORE your channel so much. Your energy is amazing and you are really helping out both long time and new witches (like me) who are on a budget but still want to have beautiful adornments and things to place on their altar or just decorate their home with. Thank you so much for your content and please keep it coming. Blessed Be! ❤
Just a bit of an info dump, though some others have already mentioned it: Modeling clay is oil/petroleum based and will not dry out or harden when baked. It's great for kids, and sometimes even for making molds with plaster or resin, but not good for permanent creations. Some great cheap alternatives are play-doh, DIY play-doh or salt dough, air dry clay, and paper clay. Play-doh needs additives like Elmer's glue or Modge Podge kneaded into it to help it dry without breaking apart. But it's fun to play around with different ways of customizing it into your own clay recipe. The more glue you add, the more sticky and runny the dough will become so start with tiny amounts! You will also want to seal the final product in paint or Modge Podge because of its flour content as pests may be attracted to it. The bakeable clay is Polymer clay, such as Fimo or Sculpey which can be kind of expensive but far more consistent in results. A large 2 lb container of uncolored Super Sculpey will probably be your best priced option, as the colored polymer clay tends to be more expensive. Don't be fooled by how hard the clay is either, it takes a little bit of elbow grease to get the clay workable but it's definitely worth the trouble. Air dry clays are also a great alternative if you don't want to bake polymer clay but each brand and type has it's own pro's and con's so I recommend planning out what kind of project you want to make, and then looking through reviews to see which will work best for your project. Many art supply stores carry all sorts of options, and you may even find some affordable options at your local Kroger or Wal-Mart type stores in their craft section! Happy crafting!

So, did baking the modeling clay harden it? I thought modeling clay stayed workable(doesn't dry out like clay or harden?)
Maybe because it's from Dollar Tree but this ish melted awayyy so fast 🤣🤣
Beth, you are correct. modeling clay is a plasticine. Basically, what makes it stay soft is petroleum jelly, which won't dry nor bake hard. You can, how ever, put it on a stack of paper and leach some of the oil out over the course of a couple months to "dry" it out. it will be harder and less flexible. unfortunately, paint will essentially be a short term solution and will lift and curl at edges if it doenst just turn to goo.
maybe since there are so many lovely colors in this pack, we could try doing the details in layers of colors. I have had pretty good success making teeny snakes and laying them down for detail.
Sometimes my DT will have Fimo (polymer clay) in random colors. Not a full rainbow though.
What temp and time did you put for the clay? I’ve been waiting to make one too but not sure what settings for the oven.
Modeling clay is not a bakeable clay, it is an oil based clay that doesn't dry so it can be reused over and over. Play-doh, DIY play-doh, salt dough and air dry or paper clay are the best affordable alternatives to make permanent objects.
Polymer clay like Sculpey is the expensive but higher quality option and is the kind of clay you can bake in the oven. Epoxy Sculpt is another expensive clay option that does not require baking but it is also more toxic because it is a two part epoxy resin material.
@@strangecanvas9587 thank you!
