Akane showing why she's considered to be the world's happiest drummer! A 'fun' song that the maids play meticulously while laughing and smiling throughout. They dropped a new MV today from their new album which was released last week - and it's a work of art as well as a damn fine song.
@@tonygriffin_ Thinking again, there’s a few other happy drummers around Japan, like Maruta Tamu of Nemophila, Yuree from Gacharic Spin and Junna now with Hagane, though she could also be one of the nuttiest drummers around!!!
The Maids performing one of their (two) most performed songs: Freedom and Real Existence. The Maids in this MV are pure perfection, aren't they? I mean, what can you fault? And those faces... their attitude... their music... their playing... their story... and their joy! Band-Maid is a world treasure, imo! Thanks Fin & Bell, for bringing the world's best hard rock band to your viewers!
Dany from The Warning is a PRS artist as well, there’s a video of her and Kaname talking guitars when the two bands joined up in Japan earlier this year.
I'm a 77 year old rocker from Brooklyn NY and have been following rock since the late 1950's. I've always been a big fan of talented drummers, and Akane is one of the finest I have ever heard, male or female. She has the kind of creativity that the best drummers of all time have had, especially Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich (check out some of their videos and you will see what I mean), from the Golden Age of music. The other thing is that unlike the usual drummer solos where the musician goes bananas, Kanami writes the music to have the solo within the structure of the composition, which you can see at the end of the solo when the rest of the group seamlessly reintegrates into the song. That is just masterful. It's great to see how much you are enjoying Band Maid.
Also, the previous night it appears that Miku fluffed her lines during her little solo piece, however Kaname was in like a flash with a guitar lick to cover her. Hence the byplay between them early on and then during Miku’s solo Kaname crouched in front of her monitor to hide the words, truly a fun band!!!
Welcome back guys and they have a contest running where if you find a bad song, they'll come and play live at you home. They have a patent on the market for smile rock. One Band-Maid song a day keeps the blues away. Rock on.
PRS's have a reputation for being hard to play but sounding fantastic when you get it right (or found the right one for you). Kanami herself has commented on that. So I can understand where you're coming from, though I've never actually played one.
Always love Misa's 2 note chords in the middle section (good spot)- a moment of genius. When Miku formed the band, she was the original singer, until they recruited Saiki a few weeks later, but she still usually gets a solo song on each album. More recently- Time, Rock In Me, Sayonakidory etc. Play one- they are great- typical Miku.
You mentioned about seeing them, so I looked at your about section and your from the UK. Sadly they haven't visited our shores since I last saw them in Islington 2019. I've seen a Lot of bands from the 70's to now and they rank as the second best Gig I've Ever been to. Hoping since they now manage themselves 🤔they'll come back to the UK next year😊 Soon as they announce it I'll be buying tickets for the show and maybe across Europe as well😁
When Band-Maid first formed they were only a four member band. Miku, the rhythm guitarist with the red rose, was to be the vocalist and she didn't know how to play guitar. After a few months she realized her voice didn't fit the music they wanted to play so they brought in Saiki to be the vocalist. Miku then picked up a guitar and Kanami, the lead guitarist, taught her how to play it. I'd say she did an excellent job.
The band that has so much fun performing, and damn are they good! They dropped a new MV today for the song Forbidden Tale, the song and vid are great - may I suggest you check it out.
New band maid album out and it is FIRE. Magie, Show them, bestie, protect you are videos that have been out and the tracks are on it. Forbidden Tale is a NEW track and just got it`s MV. If you got the time check it out it is great.
So pleased you got around to this song. I kinda agree with Fynn on the guitar “thing” … been a Fender man for years, wouldn’t swap my precious Precision bass for anything. As you say mate, just a personal preference.
Miku does have songs with parts for her and even whole songs she sings lead on. Kanami sings back up on chants and on the acoustic version of 'Puzzle'. MISA doesn't like to sing, but does vocalizations on BAND-AMIKO songs. Check out the acoustic version on 'Sayonakidori' to see a super rare event, Akane singing backup. Kanami started out playing an Addictone Strat, but switched after she borrowed a crew member's PRS. She said it's more difficult to play right, but liked the way it sounded when she did. Must be the Humbucker Pickups.
Miku was the not only the founder of the band but also the vocals when they started. She realized her voice wasn't the perfect fit for the music they wanted and so sought out a vocalist. She put her ego aside and got Saiki and then learned rhythm guitar so she could contribute and provide backing vocals. No one in this group has an ego and they all support each other

Now you have to show everyone your Stratocaster. C’mon mate, show and tell. With modern electronics you can get any sound from any guitar. Choose whatever feels best to play.
If you' notice on the left side off of the stage you notice Konami and Miku cheering for Akane during her drum solo she. They are pumping their fists and clapp. How many other bands do that for each other??? I don't know any other band that does this for a good job.
This has been my experience. Every BandMaid song I've listened to is absolutely positively fantastic! Even the ones that are just "meh" on the first listen. Bestie, Hate?, Shambles left me lukewarm. Same with Magie. But I'll be damned I love everyone of them. I mean really love. Never ever has their been a band like BandMaid.
There is an interview with Kanami where she explains very convincingly why she prefers PRS guitars. Hot or cold, they don't go out of tune, for instance. But the consensus about this particular concert was, the guitar was much to low in the mix. Some fool behind the soundboard didn't seem to get it. The only flaw in an otherwise perfect concert.
Strats are classic guitars for sure but in much modern hard rock and metal they have been left behind. The single pickups lack the punch for much of today’s metal and chunkier sound. That is why you see so many Ibanez, ESP, Jackson’s and yes PRS used.

Yes, I've seen them twice live now....and fantastic performances. They are the happiest band I've ever seen.

Yes, that top is hard to ignore.
Seems to be a sensitive topic. I wrote a IMHO totally innocent comment along the same lines, but it was removed.

No chance of crying!! Probably the Maids' most joyful performance.
"No God" from 2024 Day of Maid for those who got the Bluray.
My FIRST Band-Maid song. I was instantly hooked. It's like MISA is leading and Kanami is off in Mincho land...

You need to do their latest MV that just dropped. It's off their new album Epic Narratives and the song Forbidden Tale. It is truly epic.

Please pick up "Endless story (Yokohama Arena Live)".
Get out the hankies!
