As I Scotsman, I’ll forgive you for the Star Trek Scotty accent, for producing a great video. I’ve got a 100f so understand what you are talking about ….. despite the accent.
This is such a sweet ode to the X100F. Mine is still going strong after 5 years, though I flirted with the X100V and seriously want the X100VI. Fuji’s camera shortages are the X100F’s gain, so to speak. Subscribed!
Is this the best video about the X100 on UA-cam??? In my humble opinion, yes. It sums up everything about the X100 I believe in, can it be your everyday camera, absolutely, it is my everyday camera. So many times I’ve been on trips, I live in Inverness 40 mins or so from Findhorn to give you perspective, the West coast, Skye, the Western Isle and Islands I’ve dragged around DSLR, Mirrorless kits the whole shebang and what’s got the most use? the X100 of course it’s just simply brilliant.
I have had my x100f for a similar amount of time and it still packs a punch. I am still learning and trying different things with the camera. There's a lot of versatility to be had with the film simulations and later on being able to edit the raw files with the X-raw software to get the right look. It is a friendly looking camera as you say and I think this helps when people see it. I'm not a fan of bulky and ugly DSLR's at all.
Delighted (!!!) to have discovered your channel with this gently infectious push to further investigate owning an X100F. And that comment is from someone used to carrying about a full DSLR compliment and the obligatory film SLR as well - sometimes two different system and all the slog-factor that implies. I'd never have thought of 35mm (equivalent) as an ideal lens for portraiture or necessarily ideal for capturing expansive landscapes, but your work certainly gives pause to consider the equation of form factor/elegance+film simulations+new eye on motifs. Now, off to the auction site ;-) I've - no surprise - subscribed to your channel and will look forward to future insights!
I have casually opened this video on youtube recommendation and wow, one of the most well thought out videos I've seen on a piece of gear. Liked and subbed 👍
Inspiring video. I’m curious about your planner as for me everything helps my process. I just subscribed to your channel as I recently purchased the x100v and your explanation is helpful and relatable. Thank you for the inspiration!
Thanks for subscribing William! A lot of what I mention in the video does still apply to the V as well, so am glad you found it helpful, and were inspired by it! I'll be uploading more videos to tell the story behind my planner, as well as presenting more of how it works, so stay tuned!
I am about six months into my Fiji journey and I do I in the XT5 which is the premier XT model but now I'm starting to look at an expo two or maybe this camera as well as I do want a second camera just to walk around with as the T5 is my landscape camera. I absolutely love the simulations and just to feel Fujifilm cameras is beautiful
Incredibly glad this video landed on my feed I was looking into Finding a good digital camera with that film vibe that the Fuji has, because getting film developed nowadays in my location is really painstakingly irritating and I’m very glad I found your video this camera is amazing and I love the fact it has that slik old look but it’s DIGITAL! and I must say your video shooting style and editing style are incredibly immersive and make the video a super enjoyable watch, super underrated creator keep it up ! Follow up question if you would be ever so kind to answer, what’s the best way to purchase this camera ? Used from a seller or does Fuji still produce these cameras and sell them online
@@SomethingisAlwaysMissing hey bud! The only way at this point is to grab it used. Three places I can recommend: MPB.com, good ole eBay and check your local Craigslist as well. Good luck as I think even the F is getting hard to find nowadays too!
Hey Moly, love the acting, and most of all the graphics along with those subtil crispy SFX. +the authenticity of those vertical videos at the end. You are crushing it!
That were a proper brilliant wee movie indeed! I acquired the X100V last year to up my iPhone photography and I couldn’t be happier. As it happens, I envisioned one of its uses as the camera to take on bike rides! Do you use a handlebar or seat-post pannier to carry the camera on rides and do you use any special cushioning to protect it from shocks on rides? I ride a Giant Defy Advance Pro 3 endurance road bike. Ta very much!
Well I see from your channel you've already taken it sailing! That being said, I wouldn't necessarily recommend mounting it on a bike handlebar - especially if it's for MTB; even on a road bike I wouldn't risk it :( It's sturdy but not GoPro-level tough. However, I did made a video showing what I use to carry my X100F outdoors (which includes biking) here: ua-cam.com/video/OlpIbKtJzHM/v-deo.html - the setup puts the camera inside of a bag, but I think it's much safer and protected that way, while also allowing you quick access to it. Have a wee look and let me know if that's helpful!
I've got the chance to buy the X100F for around 650€ right now, but the hatch of the EVF is broken. So OVF or cover it with something else to be able to use the EVF. What do you guys think? Still a worth deal?
Oo that's a tough one! To be honest, I don't use either the viewfinder that often on my X100F. Mainly I use the LCD screen, though the viewfinder comes in handy on sunny days. 650 euros is a good deal these days!
It's said that a single man wanting to find a partner is more attractive and more likely to find one if he has a dog. I suggest get the dog and get an X100F. Sorted.

Apologies for offending your ears Ian! I can, however, guarantee that no actual Scotsmen were harmed during the making of this vedyo ;)

Thanks Ryan! For this one, I shot on the Canon M50 and 22mm f/2 lens. Great combo. But I've since upgraded to the Fuji XH2S ;) Hope that helps!
