CURRENT SCHEDULE
Expect a new video every Sunday and Wednesday at 11AM Central!
How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a UA-cam channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

Don’t most farmers call a wagon like that the “profit wagon”😂
4:58 The bird eye view with the drone plus the time-lapse was amazing. You are getting so good at filmmaking Ryan. I cannot believe you've come a long way.
It was overhead time lapse shots are so cool it’s fun to watch the grain tank fill up on the combine
62450 lbs. Might be that that small gravity wagon is used for feed storage. Just a Few Acres Farms has some, bigger than that one, but that's what he uses em for. Loved that time lapse overhead shot showing the combine running down the row, then turning left along the waterway, seeing the hopper fill. Looks like you got some good weather for the middle part of the vid and glad to hear the moisture is coming down.
Ryan I love the drone footage of your fields, they are so different from the fields in NW Iowa that for the most part are all square. It always amazes me how you figure out how to plant and harvest in so many different directions! Loved the videos keep them coming.
No need to apologize for anything. Just glad you are willing to share what you can.
Opening up fields like yours can be a real challenge!
Computer controlled planters make it a lot easier as they keep track of where seeds are planted!
These days rows don’t go over the top of each other!
Makes it nice when harvesting starts!
Boehm Farms has a mini gravity box like that! He has used his a few times, and takes sweet corn to farmer's markets in his!
😆😆🤣
We appreciate you filming for us with time you have available. Stay safe.
Thank you Ryan, I really enjoyed the video!!
Love the overhead of the combine unload sequence.
I wish we had such small wagons over here😄 nice to hear that the moisture gets better👍😉
That little wagon is sooo cute 😊
Great work Everybody, quality as always Ryan, Thank You👌👍🙏🙂
Enjoy the video Ryan ,and love drone videos too .
Great video definitely an interesting tiny wagon hope u get the heat figured out at ur rented place and it doesn't cost to much to repair
Love the content! Looking forward to more
awsome video ryan thumbs up and shared
If you weren't so far from Ohio, I would have said that was Jacob Boehm from Boehm Farms. Pretty sure he has a white Ranger and he has a wagon like that. IIRC he took it to the elevator last year for a laugh.
thank you
Good content! 👍
Hey Ryan A short video is better than no video.
I am going to go with 78,200. Thanks for the video Ryan. Great stuff.
80,000lbs im sure i'm way off but i want a how farms work hat lol i been watching you guys a while keep up the great work and thank you to you all and all our farmers out there
Nice video and music 😎🇺🇸
Lol. Life of the landlord. Phone only rings at the rental when you are out of time or fully booked.
Happens every harvest. No calls any other time of year lol
Good video
The joys of rental properties!!
56000. Watching the overhead sped up cracked me up. Great video Ryan!
65,000 pounds Awesome videos...keep up the great work.
67,,237 lbs of corn in the truck. (I didn’t add your wt into to mixture.ha ha.). Thanks for the video Ryan!
Great Video Ryan, I wouldn't have a clue how many "pounds " are on your truck, I've been metric for years, and i haven't driven a truck for most of that time, thanks for sharing
77897 lbs thanks for taking the time as always for the videos much appreciated!!! Have a good on Ryan!!!
Great video Ryan, hey don’t be making fun of my wagon😂
77900 lbs. Love the harvest videos.
Hi Ryan! I’m going with 79,500 on that load! Enjoyed the video as always!
Really enjoyed the cinematography as always. I am guessing the load was 57082.
80,500 lbs. Great videos as always.
79000 lbs cute wagon enjoy the videos
79,800 keep the great videos coming.
That was very informative.
I just have one question for Chris he is so busy that when does he find time to sleep lol.
Seems like you could extend the height of the bin on the combine a foot or two more?
73280 great video and that’s a nice wagon
this is the type of thing we need in farming games like farm sim 22
I guess 62,742 lbs. Great video 😊
The little gravity box was cute, you know it's small when it's being pulled by a Ford Ranger!
I need that baby wagon for deer corn! Perfect! Wonder who makes it?
They are made by E-Z Trail in Arthur, IL
That load probably is 80,265. Have a great day Ryan.
54,789. It's been a rough year for moisture, still running 26%
hey Ryan are you almost done with harvest?
I think 75000 lb, like watching the videos, hope the moisture keeps getting better.
Hey Ryan!! Great drone shot of the combine. The truck weighed in at 79,890.
@ghammond3132 I thought gross but I may be wrong.
That Airplane should’ve drop a bunch of candy. I’m gusseing “a lot” in the semi. (My smart ass gusse) 😄
45,780 lbs of corn gross weight around 82,000 lbs
Great drone shots my guess is 78600lbs
Big red load - 79,770
I'm thinking loaded truck was 79,500
appox 42,000- 80,000lbs semi load
At that Moment 71,000 when you left for elevator 81,350 !
68,789 lbs
With the moisture I would say 65000
86,000 lbs on the semi
76,000 .... hauling to the bank!
58,154# of corn on the semi truck.
79,000 lbs on the semi
79,995. Great video as always Ryan, I don't comment very often, for a chance to win a hat I thought go for it.
78,897lbs
I'll go with 54,000 lbs in the trailer. I think if they were pulling a pair of tiny wagons with that Ford Ranger that would have been more impressive. Maybe there just getting started. Everybody has to start somewhere.
79450. lbs. It looks kinda cold that morning. Hope your next year will be easy and profitable.
34,361lbs. for the net weight of corn load.
200+ is a great avg. Cole Sonne needs fat steers or open cows for retail online box sale, you need registered bulls. All ships from Iowa. Perfect hub for distribution for coop members. Steak 10# boxes sold out in 24 hrs. Stop the packer monopoly and turn that lower value corn into $3.00 prime beef. Market acceptance test with pre orders and monthly box subscriptions. Worth talking to Cole to sell or sponsor your channel with bbq boxes. Win win.
Your channels and 3 herds would be a great coop member addition. Never hurts to ask. Cole is 12 months out to restock steak boxes.
49201 lbs of hauled product in big red
57,295lbs
crop duster or sightseer?
Not a crop duster. I don’t think it was a sightseer either. Ryan described something several years ago that an average person would not know unless he was a pilot. So Ryan was flying that airplane.
Corn I’m gonna say a cool 66,300 pounds and around 90k sitting on scale(truck and load)
Total truck and load scale weight 79,444 lbs.
81,000
79,990 lbs in the truck (loaded weight). I'm guessing the scale goes by 10s.
The weight of the load is " always the legal limit" and not a kernel more lol
78,884 lbs Jacob Boehm has a cart like that.
78,500 total
45,000 corn
78,877 lbs..............I know you'll be ready for harvest to be over!
78000 I hope, but if not at least good video thanks
53,680 lbs. Ryan u need another truck and driver now with the bigger combine.
68278 lb that's my guess and I'm sticking to it
85,200 corn and truck
77,489 LBS
The little wagon is only like 100 bushel wagon it's more for horse farms and that to feed small amounts of livestock
79,845 on that truck
81,600
My guess on pounds on the truck is going to be 47,750 or loaded be around 78500
80,750
74,543 lbs
74,864 pounds on big red
You need to be like BFV and edit video's on your tablet as you sit and wait to load or unload.
Depends if you are within 75 miles of the scales but max you can be 92,000#GVW, but on a guess with both hoppers damn near full and depending on test weight, I'll guess 90,999# Only cause the back hopper was a lil light.
85,000 lbs
81,490 is my guess
That's what you call "starting small ".
52.500 lbs
