What a view, though, at the 80 miles high club. Man, this mod is well-made! EDIT: Ok, nmv, the view from the space hotel is even better. Amazing what he pulled off with 1998 graphics and the goldsrc engine.
Something about the textures in Half-Life always make it look to me like Black Mesa is some kind of miniature diorama that I've been shrunk down inside, instead of being a full-size person. It's quite the strange impression to get. 1:06:40 you know, we have a restaurant that does that here... It's not *quite* so high up, and I think it spins the other direction though. Been there a couple times though, quite the experience.
While the 2001 theme song (as in the composition) is indeed public domain, the recorded performance he used might not be (hence the possibility of a DMCA). Still, you can probably find a royalty free version somewhere on the internet.
The fanfare "Sonnenaufgang" out of "Also Sprach Zarathustra" by Richard Strauss, who was inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophical novel of the same name.
I can't believe that this mod keeps on going! Also: how did they make the numbered steps? They must've figured out a way to generate the labels through code or something - I can't imagine doing this one by one manually. The amount of work that went into this game is insane.
Wow! Unfa! You inspired me to switch to AV Linux for audio production, and it’s a very smooth transition. Quake .map files are just plaintext, so I guess it would be fairly easy coding it. What I would do is make all the steps with decals on them in Hammer, and then do some fancy search and replace with incremental counter changing the decals.
@@stonemanofgardnerville1162 The Stalker transformation process is performed at Nova Prospekt, where Combine scientists sever higher brain functions, experiment on the lobotomized victim in "foul and depraved ways," and embed a number of blackened nano-devices in the skin, "slowly watching the victim lose all humanity."[2] As a result, the appearance and behavior of a Stalker differs significantly from those of a human. The body of a Stalker is grey, hairless, and heavily emaciated with very little muscle or fat tissue remaining. Its limb extremities, hands, and lower legs have been amputated and replaced with bolted-on metallic augmentations meant to reduce mobility. All signs of its genitals have been surgically removed, as have its ears and nose. A harness-like device is strung around their waist. For ease of maintenance and to bring dependence on the Combine, the Stalker's digestive tract, as well as the majority of organs, has been taken out, resulting in it surviving solely on a saline solution that the Combine provides,[1] further evidenced by the gastric port in their sides. Stalkers also appear to be resistant or immune to radiation, as they are seemingly unaffected even when working near the extremely radioactive Citadel Core. Stalkers walk slowly in a hunched-over manner with their arms loosely dangling in front of them. When working, they remain mindlessly focused on their tasks. Apparently unable to talk, Stalkers will simply roar and make groans if disturbed. They have small plates on hinges next to their eyes which can apparently be closed during periods of inactivity. Stalkers also have the ability to emit a laser beam using the apparatus mounted on their heads. They use this tool to repair Combine devices or in self-defense. This laser is also capable of destroying Energy Balls. It appears that the Resistance members have full knowledge and understanding of what Stalkers are and how and where they are made. Alyx Vance, seemingly affected by their fate and to some degree reluctant to kill them, explains their origins to Gordon and sympathizes with them. She comments on Nova Prospekt, "It used to be a high-security prison, it's something... much worse than that now." Barney Calhoun also makes the comment, "He was about to board the express to Nova Prospekt!" at the start of the game. Moreover, Resistance members sometimes say, "They're not gonna make a Stalker out of me".
Sensible and sensitive are two different words that only happen to look alike in English, no way google translate would make that mistake, only an english-speaking person would mix the two. Also that banner by the entrance to the tower was well-written, you just kind of took this idea that author doesn't speak english and went with it for some reason. 🤷♂
yeah I think it's just so common in the mods that he plays that figured it must be the case here. which is a bold leap in thinking for someone with as strong of a grasp on the english language as jolly

I like how the part where you're supposed to be suffocating while climbing the last 1000 steps just didnt happen for some reason.
Good ol Source updates breaking things probably. It hit him every once in a while, but not consistently.
Because he was too slow on stairs
The vod we were all waiting for
@16:00 = Game.
The 80 mile club was neat, but to number each of the final 1000 stairs....

The one thing cinematic in FromSoft games are the bossfights. The choreographies are just peak.

I miss that mod
I think this is one of the dumbest youtubers that I've seen. Unfortunately, I like Half-Life.
