We own at SSR also. The treehouses hands down are better than the cabins. But of course the treehouses are DELUXE VILLAS not moderate accomodations. Yes they need a refurb.

Absolutely! The Cabins at Fort Wilderness might have been rebranded, but they do not deliver the "deluxe villa" that they now supposedly are. THIS is a deluxe villa. The Cabins. . . are not. . .

The Tree House Villas are our go to DVC room. Quiet. Roomy.

They have definitely become out "go-to" as a place to unplug and just relax. Definitely LOVED it!

We like the Treehouse Villas for sure. We call them the budget Grand Villas because of the point difference and still getting "3 BR". My only issue (my wife doesn't share this opinion) is the bus transportation. If you use the bus system you have to ride over to The Springs bus stop then change buses to your destination. Of course, coming back, you must transfer at The Springs to catch your bus back to the Treehouses. They are pretty cool and unique though.

They ARE kinda a "budget Grand Villa" aren't they!? That's a pretty spot on description, if you ask me! You know, I think that the transportation situation at the Treehouse Villas is one of those things that is gonna hit really different depending on what it is you're wanting out of your vacation. If you're wanting a relaxed vibe where you don't mind the extra step of taking a bus, boat or walking over to The Grandstand [the closest bus stop to the Treehouses on foot]. . . . it's not a big deal. On the other hand, if you're wanting to maximize time and have that "GO GO GO" vacation experience, I can see this being an absolute nightmare. It just depends. 😄

ah, yes, the treehouses, all that's left of the villas. it's been a hot bunch of decades since the treehouses.
the treehouses were a bit larger than the other villas (even the fairway villas). all of the villas were all houses/townhomes. it's a bummer they ripped out the other villas and installed saratoga + port o. dvc in the villas woulda been a winner.
did the treehouse come with a golf cart? can you still rent a golf cart? that was also a thing way back in the day. the treehouses + fairway villas came with a golf cart, and the other villas had outlets for a golf cart, and you could rent them for a ride over to the village, or over to LBV Club golf course.

There are accessible Treehouse Villas with a ramp instead of stairs.

Unfortunately, we did not film the ADA compliant Treehouse Villa during our stay. However, there are 4 of them and they simply have a REALLY long ramp rather than stairs. They'll also have a variety of features inside the treehouse itself that area ADA compliant.

No. The Treehouse Villas all share the same layout and are the same size. The only exception would potentially be the ADA compliant treehouses, but I'm not familiar with any specific adjustments to the layout of those in particular.

I would say a bit of an improvement over Animal Kingdom and the bathroom was definitely the star of the show, but again the cleanliness or rather lack there of is so disappointing, especially at those price points. I'm sorry, but it's inexcusable at the prices Disney feels all too comfortable charging. At under $200 a night and close to property sure I could grin and bear it, but for what they charge. 😡 They should be ashamed of themselves. They're not, clearly, but they should be. Very outdated and clearly in need of a redo. The idea of sleeping in a tree house though is delightful. I just wish they kept up their properties better and that they were worth what they charge.

It was a MAJOR improvement over Animal Kingdom Lodge. . . even in terms of cleanliness. Don't get me wrong, the bathroom was disappointing and unacceptable, but the issues were isolated to that one area. The rest of the room was spotless and in good working order, which is much more than I could say for Animal Kingdom Lodge.

@@2foolishmortals Bathroom and kitchen cleanliness are hot button issues for me. I would definitely stay here though well before I would Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Stayed in these this past February. Although it is a unique accommodation, it is in serious need of a refurb. The 2nd bedroom is very small and hard to move around in. The 2nd bathroom is very dated and the tub needs to be replaced with a walk in shower. The bunk beds are cool if you have small children. If not, that bedroom is useless. The only positive I will say is the location is great for early morning walks, and very close to the food court at Saratoga springs. I think you glossed over quite a few things, but we will agree to disagree.
