How to Fix Only 2 Working Speeds = Capacitor Issue! Saves $150+ Ceiling Fan Replacement!

House came with the fan but the "high" speed in the hot summer months didn't seem to be moving a lot of air or mosquitoes. Thought about replacing the fan all together but called manufacturer first. They were confident it was a capacitor issue. Looked closer at it and noticed that "high" speed is actually the same as "medium" speed.
I was skeptical but since it was less than $10, I thought I would try. Ended up saving myself from replacing $150+

I'm glad you put in the tip about soldering the wire ends, I would have likely struggled with reconnecting
all the switch wires.
