Beautiful plants, I’ve already scoped one out on Etsy, never seen one in local shops or the shops that carry more rare plants. I’ve been adding more orchid bark to my soil mix. I really does make a difference.
Thanks for the video. This was super informative just in general, especially with regards to propagation you really filled in a lot of gaps that not a lot of people talk about so thank you for that.
Jeff, I have to agree with you on your choice of soil. You pretty much use the same soil and adjust water, light, pot, in accordance to the need of the plant. I use the same method. Helps with NOT overwatering.
@@EverythingPlants first time actually for me as well 😂. I was hesitant at first but then i was like might as well. And i thought of your video and was like yep i want one haha. Tbh please keep up the content. I love watching others experience with plants and bonus points that you say your location!!! I live in San Diego and still i want to hear others tips and tricks
I thought mine was died... found it at Kroger and it was very over watered. I had to cut it to the dirt and just prayed over it. Lol. Its finally putting out new leaves and looks healthy now. Repotting it soon actually.
i have one that is now getting those crazy variegations on it all over the place. it has a couple of half moon leaves. i havent found much about these having this.
I got one of these at Lowes & it dropped almost all of its leaves. I'm still 🤞🏻 it'll survive. Idk what else to do. The only difference here for me is I haven't re-potted mine. That'll be my next step if it doesn't improve by spring here in the US in my area.
It is hard to say why it would drop all its leaves like that. Usually plants like a ficus may drop leaves as it adjusts to a new home or doesn't get enough sunlight, but that's not usually the case for philodendrons. Keep me posted and good luck saving it.
@@EverythingPlants Thanks. I've learned a lot watching you and only wish I'd known about your channel before I went on a huge houseplant-buying spree last spring. I, too, have been unsuccessful in rooting Golden Goddess cuttings, among many others.
I am puzzled, this is a hybrid. The dark green comes from the Thai Sunrise parentage. So what I am wondering, is it like the Birkin situation where the variegation can be unstable?
Costa farms sells reverted Thai sunrise as the golden goddess. I wonder if cutting it back hard will trigger new variegation. I'm looking for one to experiment with.
Thanks for all the great tips! My golden goddess is a really fast grower, I have a few leaves with some variegation as well. Do you know if the golden goddess and the Thai sunrise are the same plant?🌱🇨🇦🌱
You didn’t say if you reported immediately after bringing home? I got mine in same circumstances as yours. I use same soil type but have not repotted yet. It’s been about 3-4 weeks.
$25?! Damn! I got lucky! I got mine at a local plant shop for less than $10 and it's as big as that one! 😳 I've noticed that Costa Farms elicit two responses from me. It's either "What a bargain!" or " Are they nuts?!" Never a happy medium. 😂
@@EverythingPlants I live in Puerto Rico, so I'm guessing the pricing is more or less the same? I've seen some really amazing bargains in the US, but when I rush to the store to take advantage of them, I never find them. We only get the full priced. 😕 They do have some amazing finds tho. My cebu blue basket was huge, and so were my Manjula and my Marble Queen and each one was $20 so I'm happy about those. On the other hand, you go to local nurseries and some finds are insane. I got a Dracaena that's as tall as I am with huge climbing Philodendron Erubescens for $25. Same place I got a Scindapsus Exotica for $5, and a massive Adansonii for less than $15, amongst so many other amazing finds. I guess that's why I usually prefer exploring smaller nurseries.
I lucked out and got one for 75% off at my local Lowes...paid $5! And she is in pretty good shape! Yours is absolutely beautiful! 🌿🪴🌱☘🌴💚
That is a fantastic find!

Ya, the orchid bark makes for a nice soil mixture. Thanksfor watching!

Glad it was helpful!
Perfect timing with this informational video. I just bought this plant over the weekend and was looking for a video just like this. Thank you!
Awesome! Where did you buy yours from?

Yes, it is a really good soil mixture for most houseplants. Thanks again for watching!
Gorgeous plant, I love Costa Farms. I have at least a dozen from them.
Me too!
I just bought one at home depot and I'm kinda excited for it
Awesome! You don't see these too often, at least I don't, so great find!

Wow, that is a great save. Nice work!
I will obtain one tomorrow from a trade, I’m so excited 😍😍😍

Hi Jeff, now going to watch the follow-up. Can't wait to see how it did. 😁🙃
Hope you like it!
@@EverythingPlants I did like seeing the philodendron golden goddess. Especially the variegated leaves. So beautiful Jeff🌱🌿🍃
@@rrich1719 thanks so much!
Love your Phelodendron , looking beautiful and very healthy ,
Thanks Maya!
Great video! I'm curious about your Wardian case in the background and what is growing in it, especially the plant that's flowering.
Hey Linda. All the plants in there are jewel orchids.

I just bought this plant on Saturday from the Farmers Market. Beautiful plant. What type of watering and lighting does it need. Thank you.
Thank you for great directions! My Golden Goddess is taking over my small apartment! Time to bring out the machete! 😜
Thanks Susan. I recently chopped off the top again but I can't get the cutting to root. It always just rots on me.
woah this plant is striking
Thanks so much!!!
Thanks for the information ❤️☘️☘️☘️
Thanks Erika!
It’s a stunning plant!
I agree!!!
I am puzzled, this is a hybrid. The dark green comes from the Thai Sunrise parentage. So what I am wondering, is it like the Birkin situation where the variegation can be unstable?
Time will tell lol
Costa farms sells reverted Thai sunrise as the golden goddess. I wonder if cutting it back hard will trigger new variegation. I'm looking for one to experiment with.
Interesting....I didn't know that they did that. I still love mine though.
@@EverythingPlants I think gg is the mother plant of Thai sunrise. Like rojo congo is the mother plant of the Birkin.
Will this do well outside on my patio?
Thanks for all the great tips! My golden goddess is a really fast grower, I have a few leaves with some variegation as well. Do you know if the golden goddess and the Thai sunrise are the same plant?🌱🇨🇦🌱
I read that the golden goddess is an immature thai???.....this could be completely wrong, LOL
@@EverythingPlants it such a beautiful plant regardless! Mine is getting quite large so maybe it will show more variegation as it ages. TFS!
You didn’t say if you reported immediately after bringing home? I got mine in same circumstances as yours. I use same soil type but have not repotted yet. It’s been about 3-4 weeks.
I've read that the Golden Goddess is essentially a reverted Thai sunrise.
@@kkmeilicke that’s kinda exciting news! I hope mine gets a little variegation like that!
Not to be a plants pooper, but Dawn is a degreaser detergent. That's why we use it to wash oiled birds and other oil exposed wildlife.
Well.....great. LOL I will try and make an edit to that mistake. Thanks!
I am currently propagating mine right now in water. Mine was getting too tall for my liking and it’s doing well. So not sure why yours rotted though.
Ya, I have no idea. Does yours have roots yet?
@@EverythingPlants it is starting to yes, nice ones too. I guess I’ll see when it’s time to plant it.
Did you bought it in Lowe's? I saw some same pots and that Goddess in their store before. (Calgary, AB here btw.)
Rona, actually....same store I guess. I am in Regina and have family in Calgary. We can't wait to get back out to the mountains!
@@EverythingPlants Yea. Hope you guys could visit us here soon before the summer ends.

Can this plant grow in water or lecca?
I haven't tried it but I'm sure leca would be okay. Is yours not doing well in soil?
@@EverythingPlantsSo far it is okay. I just bought it last week. I was wondering if I wanted to change from dirt to Lecca would it do well. Thank you.
you can put some cinnemon on it before you put it in the water
Thanks
I think that's a Malay gold philo in my part of the world :)
It weird they have different names in different parts of the world 🌎
💚💚
Thanks
I have a golden pothos that I can't do water propogations with as they rot just like your philodendron. So odd!
Ya, I have no idea why. Toss yours in perlite! I guarantee it will root in perlite.
Is the perlite pre-moistened?
Yes!
The pointer pencil needs sharpening.
I'll get right on that. ✏
