Yep, that part of the stream cracked me up a little. I remembered Mike predicted that that was the case on previous stream, and welp it's confirmed. Yea, I can confirm, at least personally, that once you got someone doing the screen-accurate, you'll grew more tolerant or even liking a stylized release. Now that the definitive 2014 Goji exist, I wanted that old SH's exactly for its stylization. Tho I can't say that for every stylized design, personally speaking. Like 2019 Ghidorah and Goji isn't a good one. 2024 tho issa good example of stylization done right. I think it looks nice from every angle exactly cuz it is stylized, and that sort of stylization is what I would love to see. That is if SH is going for the stylized market and not a mixed bag. My dream Godzilla line is 7 inch, aka Hiya's current scale. To me, issa perfect size, I don't like kaiju figures that are too big. A, cuz of display space, and B, cuz of how expensive one unit would be. I am a completionist after all, so I want 'em all. Which leads to another point, it gotta have EVERY single kaiju in the chosen era. My pick is obviously Mv, as it is my fav aesthetic and to me personally is a perfect kaiju look. I've loved every single design they've came up with thus far... except for Terminator Goji. It has grown on me, but I've seen better fan design, for me personally. In terms of articulation range, I don't need hyper articulation, nor do I wanted them being 5 points, I just want enough. Again, kinda like what Hiya is doing. The reason why I dislike too much articulation is cuz, A it's more expensive, B it's harder to manage with the amount of moving parts, and C part swapping issa nightmare. I've taken apart an SHMa neck once, and I couldn't imagine how hard and annoying it'll be had Hiya used multi segmented dumbell joints instead of a single long barbel joint. In terms of paintjob and sculpts I want dem screen-accuracy. Some bit of stylization is allowed, so long as it doesn't deviates too far from the screen accurate. But for sculpt, uncompromisable, cuz I love the uncanny feeling of seeing the kaijus from my screen right in front of my very eyes. Next, I would love them to be reasonably priced, again Hiya is my example for this. Lastly, no exclusives. I truly hate manipulated scarcity, and I despise with a passion ppl who would charge astronomical price for an exclusive. Like man, I used to want SHMa's Shinagawa and Kamata-kun but it was sold faaaaar more expensive than Awakening Shin in the aftermarket, which is also already got a huge mark up. I don't like it when hobby being too much of a business, where all ppl care about is investing, not enjoying the hobby too much. I could tolerate differing preferences for how the figure looks waaaay more than I could tolerate ppl doing and supporting scalpers. Hiya on shelf here is crazy, it makes SHMa looks cheap. A new MISB 2024 SHMa Goji is around $60 while used pre-evolved Hiya Goji is over $100. Same thing also plagueing Lego as a single minifigure could cost $200 from a $300-ish huuuuge set. It's like less than 1% of the whole piece counts. Man, I wish ppl would sell reasonably here, especially for exclusives. Again, why I hate them. Cuz it wasn't seen as a novelty item to enjoy or remind you of a convention you gone to (if it's cons exclusive), but seen as an investment. Heck, most didn't even care about the toy, and yet they took a unit or more that could've been bought by ppl who truly wanted them. Tho I suppose I'll be fine if the exclusives are the non-canon forms, aka actual stylized look. Like SHMa's 2014 poster color and 2019 night color, as suppose to 2019 burning or atomic breath. Canon colors/forms to me are alt look/color change that is shown on-screen or other media (graphic novels or comic) that is a result of changes that truly happened to the body of said character. For example the blue glow of an atomic breath Goji, color code change for Ultraman, or the blonde hair of a Super Saiyan. Non-canon forms are stylized look that isn't based on any on-screen or other media (graphic novel/comic) and is something truly made up like an interpretation of an artist to said character, or it could be a conditional lighting like 2019 night color or 2014 poster color, aka color changes that were effected by the lightings on the environment and not from the character's body itself. I would be ok if these guys exist as exclusives, as I don't think many would want them as much as canon forms. A bonus wishful one, more than the aforementioned points, are releasing fan-made designs. I've seen sooo many cool fan-designed/recreation of legacy kaijus in Mv aesthetic. One of it is the Kiryu I can't stop yelling about. There's also King Caesar, Titanosaurus, Moguera, Spacegodzilla, Anguirus, Destoroyah, Keizar Ghidorah, Hedorah, Biollante, etc. Would be cool if fans could submit a design, their own or others, and the company would do a poll/survey to see if anybody would be interested to buy. Afterwards they'll put out a PO with a certain MOQ before begin production. To summarize: 1. 7 inch or 1/666,6 scale 2. Need to have all kaijus in the selected era/franchise 3. Enough articulation (not a statue nor hyper articulated) 4. Screen-accuracy in both paintjob and sculpts 5. Affordable 6. No exclusives except for heavily stylized looks 7. (Bonus) Fan designs included
I’ve considered making a custom figure of my own incarnation of Godzilla at some point in the future so I would KILL for an affordable articulated kaiju figure line that includes fan incarnations
Canuck coming in with a great mindset. Equating SHMA and Hiya to two cakes is an analogy I wholeheartedly agree with, no constant Hiya vs SHMA or whatever. It's just so refreshing to see in this community at this time.
Hiya feels like a continuation of where NECA left off, very good articulation, sculpt and paintwork for a fair price. I see another comment said basically the same. I'll definitely buy their Millennium Godzilla when it comes.
The way Hiya is doing it is certainly the way I would do it: accurate as possible, very attentive to relative size, affordable enough that most people can get in on it! Although personally I’m a lover of plenty accessories myself (been a hard time for people like that 🥲). Plenty more ideas I’d like to see in figure form, like a series featuring original designs for all the monsters, exploring some of Godzilla’s unmade foes (as hard as that would be to get off the ground), I’ve had this idea for “anthro” style figures (think of the “Monster Warrior Godzilla” designs but as action heroes). I just wanna see people get real creative with it!
Just watched the livestream sometime ago. Hiya Toys does really gotten me stoked for the Exquisite Base Kong 2024 (which so happened that I’ve already secured my preorder) and especially the standard Hokkaido Godzilla which is coming around Q4 of 2024 (again, I already preordered mine’s too). Also, I’m really excited for the upcoming Hiya Toys GMK Godzilla and Millennium Godzilla too, hopefully they will eventually make the Final Wars Godzilla since the sculptor officially confirmed that the Final Wars Godzilla is his most favorite Godzilla incarnation so it’s possible that it may eventually happen.
@@timmyhaymore7125 Well, the sculptor designer for Hiya Toys does officially states that Final Wars Godzilla is his favorite Godzilla incarnation like he done for W-Dragon, the same goes for the Millennium Godzilla, so it’ll be a matter of time before Hiya Toys decides to make likewise, a super-affordable Final Wars Godzilla, down the road eventually sooner or later. Again, do please take it at least a grant of salt though.
@@timmyhaymore7125 Nah, don’t worry, I’m also excited as you are. However, Hiya Toys doesn’t give us a specific month to announce a Final Wars Godzilla just yet so it’ll be a matter of time though.
yeah, my dream godzilla figure is an upscale of all of hiyas godzilla figures because like look at the accuracy and details. All they have to do is upscale it with the same articulation
I like s.h.monsterarts the Godzilla 1972 is beautiful. But hiya is really killing it bigger and more detailed and alot cheaper, ill get hiya but if s.h.monsterarts comes out with a great looking for figure I'd buy it, both get love but s.h.monsterarts needs to step up.
Hiya is winning. Hiya has not made a bad figure in their whole Godzilla line. Hiya listens to fans when they point out flaws in the sculpt. People who still say SHMA is better are huffing some serious copium
If I were to accept “charging variants” as a thing, surely it should be a Godzilla who’s spines are neither opaque nor completely blue, right? An in between? That would at least be a unique deco
Amazingly put Canuck. It really sucks that some people just can’t enjoy a hobby, it makes no sense honestly. “How dare you spend YOUR money on a product I don’t like!? You must not like money!!” what?? My dream Godzilla line is a perfect hybrid of Hiya and Shma, lots of articulation and really accurate sculpts in the 7 inch scale. I love hiya toys for offering a great balance of quality and affordability, but I do own some SHMA figures that I really enjoy. Can’t we all just like Kaiju toys in unity 😓
SHMA fits right in the Gucci slot for toys, it exists vain individuals who care more for showing off their wealth than having something functional. Meanwhile Hiya fits the Mazda slot for toys, built to last.
Been a SHMA collector since day one in my junior year of high school. Always found a way to budget for each release, but lately I've been skipping more and more releases. The brand feels diluted and too comfortable with its position. SHMA has been putting way more resources into other properties and honestly I think that's a good thing. Their MH and Yugioh releases have been fantastic. A majority of their kaiju releases over the past 5+ years have been reissues, repaints, or reuses of the same mold. When we do get new releases they're usually super solid, it feels like two completely different entities running the same line, there's no consistency to the brand anymore. Hiya coming in and offering I'd say 60-80% of the quality of a SHMA for as low as 30-60% of the price, It's a no brainer that Bandai Tamashii are getting dragged. I want to buy both lines but SHMA has just been giving me less and less reason to keep going in.
To answer your question at 10:54, my dream Godzilla line is a line of fully articulated figures of Scrapped Godzilla kaiju. Or at least a fully articulated Stan Winston Godzilla and Gryphon. I would kill for that to exist, especially considering just how much potential there is for a Scrapped Kaiju line
Me personally, Hiya damn near fulfills what I want from a line. Bigger, screen accurate, fun and posable, cheaper, learns from fan feedback, seemingly seeks to up themselves on improving product quality even when the fans don’t ask for it but I really appreciate it, and for how quickly things are getting done. 2 years down the line and they are already starting to mix fan favorite designs from the Heisei and Millenium Eras in with the monster verse releases. They have an incredible looking GMK on the way and my reaction was me squealing like a little bitch. And I’m not saying that Neca or SH didn’t do a good job with theirs, it’s just that Hiya has a more satisfying feel to their plastic and gives off vibes like they are bringing the figures to life just like the movies did with the suits.
Ngl I absolutely love the new Godzilla Action Figure line from Bandai America and I really really hope it stays as a staple line of Godzilla toys similar to the Movie Monster Series. Great price, great size, and just enough articulation to be fun to play around with. If these figures existed when I was a kid I guarantee they would’ve been my favorite Godzilla toys
To be honest, Bandai’s kinda doing my dream Godzilla line(s) right now! Having a line of 5-inch scale soft vinyl toys, AND 6-inch articulated action figures AND cute little blind boxes with sweet color variants is pretty much everything I could want! I really hope these lines do well so that they’ll continue, because it’s making me incredibly happy. Having smaller soft vinyl’s is great because A. They’re easier to get/accomidate, and B. They go with my Ultra Monsters. The “Godzilla Action Figure” line is right in the sweet spot for me of being articulated/accesserized enough to get some neat poses, while still feeling approachable and playable. And those blind boxes are just the sweetest thing, and I love them. My hope for these lines is that they do well, so we can get more obscure monsters.
It will always be a matter of opinion when it comes to what figure you want to buy from. I think Hiya is doing way better than Bandai, but that doesn't mean I hate SH monsterarts, I still love a lot of the figures they make, at the end of the day, we all will like and enjoy what we think is best. And thats the beauty of the Godzilla community (at least it was), that we love talking about how cool these figures are... and hell, Competition is VERY VERY good for my shelf and my wallet.
(10:25) My dream Godzilla toy line would be something very similar to what Trendmasters did back in the day (and with a little bit of what Playmates is doing currently with the MonsterVerse toys as well). Like have 5 or 6 new monsters for each wave that comes out, release a new wave once a year, and have it come with some accessories along with a trading card that has little bit of info on that specific monster as well. Have many different verity of figures like ones with sound, ones without sound, and ones that come with fun gimmicks. Different sizes like 3 inch, 6 inch and even 12 inch toys of each monster. There would also be some play sets like what Bandai Creations (or Bandai America) used to make like the "Crumble Zone" set from 2002, with destroyable buildings and vehicles. And it doesn't really matter to me if its movie accurate or not or how posable it is. As long as it looks good, doesn't break easily, and doesn't look cheap or lazily made (like with paint *cough *cough "Movie Monster Series" *cough *cough lol). 💵📦🤔💭🦖🃏 (0:08) Priceless lol. 👌😆
Hiya toys and monsterarts co existing only benefits the consumer 1. Choice - if you don’t like one, you have the other as an alternative 2. Competition forces both company’s to make better products
A idea for shma make a figure that has many versions each version has another row of spines being blue charged as a accessory you get a tiny part of a atomic breath getting all of the godzillas would equal having a fully atomic breath effect part and as a bonus! you can plug it on all the godzillas even the ones that are ''charging''
People get VERY triggered when we say hiya toys is stomping tamashii but its true. For some reason people so biased to the high prices and brand like they can do no wrong. But hiya toys is killing it. They love to resort to calling people who like hiya toys better “broke”
@kaijucanuck4492 I'm begging for more sh monsterarts vehicles. And am biased cause I want a Super X2 for my main display 😭 Been thinking about making a video proposing "fixes" to some modern monsterarts release.
I like this point of view, I post videos about ‘which is better’ but I preface with we won’t know until we get them in hand and we all win anyways because competition is good. Though I still get a few comments where let’s just say they clearly didn’t watch the video haha And to answer your question at the end, my dream line is all Godzilla ‘74s. Just every figure is Godzilla ‘74. But give him tons of accessories. A little umbrella, a fanny pack, anything. I just need this okay.
Great video especially that intro for me I don’t really have a dream line especially with how good Hiya is, but I seriously feel we need a toy company to make accessory sets that include buildings, cars, etc.
@@spinosaurusstriker yeah, you expect there to be a lot of small kaiju building with a lot of kaiju figures out in the market. But no there isn't, and even if there are, they're either too big (like N Scale) or too small (like Z Scale). In other words, too many BIG building that won't fit the scale of both Hiya & S.H.MonsterArts OR very little offer of too SMALL building for both of their sizes.
7:42 honestly highlights perfectly how the conversation should be in regards to Hiya and SHMA existing. They have different goals in mind it seems when it comes to their approach. Like you said earlier in the video where Hiya goes all out for accuracy. SHMA is leaning more heavily into the "Monster" aspect of SHMA and go with my stylized takes. Both are good for different reasons and are competing in the same general market of "Articulated Godzilla Figures". Currently for me, SHMA Atomic Breath version of the Minus One Goji has me hyped. I am however keeping a close eye on Hiya with their Millennium Figures
I would want a line that focused on kaijus that never got articulated figures like Zilla (either Zilla jr), Gorosaurus, Anigurus, Orga, Godzilla 1955, Titanus Doug, Sycla, Behemoth, etc.
SH Monsterarts is billed as a standard figure series that incorporates Bandai action figure "art" under the theme "pursuing character expression through monster action". That's what they do and that's why I like them. They are the ultimate Godzilla action figures. They are to me now what trendmasters was to me when I was a kid. In fact, if they would have stuck with the lights and sounds they would have been exactly that but for an adult collector. They never claim to pursue movie accuracy. In fact they often put out figures that pay homage to the artist's original work that led to the final on-screen representation. Sakai's 2000, Ohrai Noriyoshi's poster color variants for the Hesei characters, Ghidorah KOTM's concept, and Jared Krichevsky's Shimo are some examples of this and are all represented in the line. I'd like this about the line because no one else makes those figures. I think they already stand out in the market because of this. I don't know about a line I would want, but I want an X-Plus Gigantic Series Minya. Full blown 50cm Minya.
Shma, in a way, is my dream line. The figures are just the right size for my sets for stop motion. They are super articulate. To me, that's what I want in godzilla figures. But I seriously want a titanosaurus and orga figure. If they would. I would LOVE a muto prime figure from shma! Good chance it would be a top 3 figure for me!!!
On the topic of SHMA getting hate for being the only option...well, for Showa designs, today they still are. Super7 has been all Heisei and one Reiwa, Hiya has been Heisei, Millennium, and Monsterverse. And I know Super7 is getting to Showa eventually, but I prefer the pricing/sizing of Hiya...and there's been no indication so far they're ever touching Showa, so if I want my Showa monsters, it's SHMA or nothing, and SHMA is way out of my price range. Feels bad.
Sh monsterarts can be great and they have shown that they can put out some impressive products. Sadly they have been making a lot of questionable decisions that has made toy collectors start becoming very critical of MonsterArts.
I like sh monsterarts. I really do. But I'm sick of the fact that in recent years we've been getting almost no accessories. Mainly for Godzilla for some reason. Ok, if they don't want to give us atomic breath, then at least they should give us something. I don't know, for example extra hands (like in gvk), extra head (like in 72 and ultima), or some minifigures (like in ultima (small jet jaguars)). Minus one should have at least a train or tanks, but unfortunately it only had air. And I'm not saying that because I can't stand sh, quite the opposite. I want them to compete with hiya with dignity. They can be more expensive (but not too much), but at least they should entice potential customers with something. And let them finally start using cgi files, not concept art. It's important that they don't lose their license either. Because if they lose, it will also be the end of hiya as we know them now. Why? Simple. Without competition they will raise prices without hesitation and stop trying so hard. Unfortunately, that's how it works, it's not charity after all (and I'm saying it as someone that likes hiya (sh too))
I remember watching videos saying that Necas Godzilla figures were way more accurate than SHMonsterarts, but what I saw (or heard actually) was that Necas was far more affordable and that was enough to make their figures far more accurate in their eyes
I'm definitely looking forward to the new shma and hiya figures! I'm definitely looking forward to the shma shimo and evolved godzilla and hiya king ghidorah (1991) and shimo!
My dream Godzilla line was monsterarts ngl, i mean back to 2011 they're so affordable with buches of accessories, but now it just seems different (I know there's inflation or whatever stuffs you guys called it), but I'm so glad that Hiya got the license to the classics, so people can still collect highly posable and detailed Godzilla figures without worrying about their budget. That's my opinion tho.
Honestly, at this point I feel like there's one of three futures for S.H.Monsterarts, each with their own different feasibilities. One is what you outline here, SHMA leaning into the stylization aspect even further, something akin to their Godzilla 2000 release. The second is that they might just let Hiya have Godzilla and focus more on Gamera, which I don't find particularly likely. And the final is that SHMA could even just forgo Godzilla entirely and let Hiya go nuts while they continue with Yu-Gi-Oh and Monster Hunter releases instead. I feel like there's at least some likelihood of the third one, but I suppose that depends on exactly how well their Yu-Gi-Oh and Monster Hunter releases sell, something I'm not privy to.
I agree, in the end of days, people have different taste and even if I'm mad at them for having different taste than me, that is not always going to change their mind, I won't really antagonise people for having different opinion unless they actually can hurt themselves
To answer the question at the end of the vid, my dream Godzilla/Kaiju figure line would be a 7-8 inch scale, movie accurate and at least decent articulation. And if it comes with accessories than it would be ok to hike up the price a bit, but don’t price the figure without accessories the same.
I may have definitely shit on NECA a decent bit due to how they handled things with fans after their KOTM reveals, but I will admit that one of the coolest figures I own is there 24 inch 2014 Godzilla. I doubt that either Hiya or Monstersarts will do it, but I would love to see more big 24 inch figures like that. Obviously can’t do every monster, but I would love to someone doing more of that.
My dream monster line has to be around 6 inch scale that can still fit with the soft vinyls and other possible Godzilla figures but this line focuses on kaijus who don't have poseable figures. And I mean they tried doing other kaijus that are not a part of Godzilla, maybe not ultraman but still
The holy shit two cakes meme is exactly how I feel! Like I was gonna get Hiya toys evolved Godzilla but then SH revealed theirs so I’m stumped in which one to get. But I’m getting SH and Hiya Kongs because I’ll use Hiya GXK Kong as Kong and the SH Kongs as Skar’s monkey army, will it make sense? No, do I care? No. Because monkey!
My dream godzilla line would be figures that not surpass $150 and they don’t release joints on your hands (Ejem Ghidorah ‘19 sh ejem) I really love the sh figurarts when we talk about not legendary figures, I have a lot of them but they’re starting to increase prices… I love hiya Legendary, because they’re taller than sh ones (mostly accurate measures something I love on figures)
The Charging Variant, that's fucking amazing. My dream Godzilla line? Honestly what I want from sh figuarts when they have both the matte painted SSJ hair and then the translucent hair for when they have powered up in the aura, but instead of different releases... make them in the same damn box. Essentially swappable back spines as you have pointed in the new larger scale Hiya intends to release, with a light up feature, swappable heads, with translucent glow up eyes, swappable tails for both an articulated and static feature, and a light that shines through the translucent beam. The scale is around 8-9", Godzilla is too small in his figure lines, especially compared to Marvel Legends for instance, where I have Thors and Hulks that tower over my main boy. This would be fucking expensive but I want a definite figure for the suits and enemies for the eras. It's bonkers that pretty much every line can be seen as Godzilla meeting this niche, articulation or sculpt. I want something like Mafex Hush Batman, in the sense it's a definite figure that can fill in as a centre piece ( not scale wise but the ultimate version) Additionally yeah the fucking conversations around Hiya vs Monsterarts figures in the past year and half have been fucking exhausting. So many shit talks and complete dismissal of many fantastic releases. I procure both when I can because you get a great product from both ends. People are too dogmatic these days especially around fucking toylines, it's not the PVC Civil War for "insert IP like here", they're as you said, FUCKING TOYS. Too many motherfuckers in this hobby are way toxic/passionate ahout their favourite pieces of plastic. From softgoods vs plastic capes, articulation vs sculpt, stylized vs media accuracy. The only thing people can generally agree on is the lack of accessories and companies (cough Hasbro) stinginess with them.
Awesome Vid as always! I agree with you on the bully part. There's this guy on Twitter/X that is calling Godzilla Fans "piggies" for ordering the upcoming Criterion Godzilla 1954 4K release lol. He likes to bully and make fun of people who are buying a release he doesn't like lol. But anyways, awesome vid!!! Keep up the great work!
A big complaint I see about SHMA Shimo is that she's too big. I don't think "too big" really exists for a monster like her because although there is official art saying how tall she's supposed to be, she varies in size DRASTICALLY in the film.
I still don't like that the 6" figure is bigger than the 7" figure and feel like if the sizes were swapped it would have been better for everyone, but it is what it is
I got Hiyas Godzilla pre evolved form and the articulation is very similar to Neca’s Godzilla 2019 so Hiyas Mv Godzillas are upgraded Neca Godzilla 2019
if neca still had the licence in i would love more from the 24 inch line like a 1968 godzilla or a gmk in genral i would like bigger figures similar to the k/k/k godzilla with leds (sorry idk the name of the ks)
I cannot like both companies without getting flamed 😭 Sure for same figures most of the time I’ll go with hiya because of affordability but in some cases like Kong I like shmas Kong more just because it’s more posable and smaller I prefer Kong to be smaller and also Showa stuff because shma has the license to Showa while hiya doesn’t so I’ll gladly sell my kidney for a good articulated Showa figure but for heisei, MV, and millenium I’ll just stuck with hiya because well affordability it’s just much cheaper than paying lets use sdcc 89 for example and ik hiya doesn’t have an 89 but 91 is the closest in this case I’d rather pay 51 dollars for a larger, cheaper, and cooler looking in my opinion plus he comes with a beam unlike the 100 dollar shma one which doesn’t But atleast there’s options to choose from, If you want a more 6 inch scale with better range of articulation and amazing detail go with shma if you want a cheaper alternative that’s 7 inch scale and really good articulation and detail go with hiya this year has been a gold mine for Godzilla collectors or collectors as a whole.
5:07 i get this angle in suit figures that look like muppets instead of real creatures, but for the CGI MV kaiju????? Excuse me???? Does Rodan look more monstrous without the fire? Does Mothra look more monstrous looking like a tangerine? Does mechaG look more monstrous with no red and looking boring af? Nope, sorry but thats cope. Its ok if they want to stylize like with Kong, but the concept art excuse is no longer acceptable for making them look worse. Kong didnt look worse, he looked different, G14 didnt look different, he looked worse, same as all of 2019 except Godzilla.
I should have clarified that this explanation is only for the older suits. MV and even newer Toho movies are different when it comes to reference material that is available. Look out for TAS' interview with Bandai from SDCC coming sometime soon where they talk about development timelines for new movies. It's a balance between having enough development time to have product available when the movie is released, and having the most updated assets to work from.
@@kaijucanuck4492 I guess my issue is I’m not entirely sure how viable the “concept art” excuse truly is in the end, especially with a similar company making figures at a similar scale that are at the very least revealed around the exact same time as SHMA, and yet have far more accurate figures. Of course, I have no knowledge of the inner workings of the production of either Hiya or SHMA’s lines so forgive me if I’m missing something, but I’m not sure if it is wholly comparable anymore. How exactly does Hiya make almost perfect depictions while SHMA, a company who seems to have much more funding at least according to their asking prices, and assumedly the same support from Toho/Legendary as Hiya in terms of reference material, keep fumbling so bad?
@@emperorkiron3470 I think you raise a great question, and it is a question that should be asked in earnest. I'm sure folks can agree that it would make much more sense to just use the 3D files rather than work off of 2D concept. Perhaps Hiya getting the 3D models later expedites a lot of the work. This is one area that I am generally unclear on.
@@kaijucanuck4492 the thing is, while i understand S.H products are more complex than Neca or Hiya, BOTH neca and Hiya, 2 companies from 2 different countries, have been able to make more accurate figures, neca for kotm and now Hiya for GxK, clearly the s.h system has not tried or doesn't care to try to give us accurate designs. How many more companies should give us more accurate figures before we all point at sh and call them out on not trying. Thats the true question tas and others avoid. They have their system, we ask how it works instead of asking how have they not changed it in 10 years, and thats the problem. The people who have access to SH contacts never ask the real questions. Sadly its always the other side, the one sh will never contact because its either small creators, customers with no platforms, or STR. And A LOT of these guys would get too aggressive and antagonize sh too much, but the sh supporters are too afraid to ask, so theres this void of communication and SH never gives true explanations to the real questions. I dont dislike tas, or any of the guys on the FMS streams, im just saying they don't question shma in the ways customers need to truly understand the wants and priorities of that division of bandai. Its not like they are meant to either, they shouldn't be forced to pressure sh to answer, but also, I will never get much from watching their streams if they avoid the true problem.
for me its literally just down to price, im poor cant afford to spend an arm and a leg on shma. though the monsterverse godzilla shma is the only one where id say even if shma was cheaper id still buy the hiya just because the head is so ugly on the shma to me at least.
this is my new reference video for anyone i know that's under the impression that you're a monsterarts shill lol i really don't have anything to add to what you've said here. you hit the nail on the coffin.
You think that's bad... Professional wresting fandom is the absolute dregs. The way trolls talk, you'd think the company you like to watch slapped their mom around 😆 As for my ideal Godzilla line... well... honestly... it WAS 5PointXL. Beautifully sculpted, didn't take up too much space, compatible with 1/700 scale model kits for diorama-making, sold at a reasonable-enough price point considering that you got them in sets that included a nice variety of kaiju that I might not otherwise buy on their own. It's just too bad the line ended so prematurely. My ideal scenario would have continued the 5PointXL with Godzilla vs. Megalon (Godzilla, Megalon, Jet Jaguar, Gigan), Ebirah Horror of the Deep (Godzilla, Mothra, Ebirah, Giant Condor accessory), Destroy All Monsters Round 3 (Kumonga, Kamacuras, Manda, Varan), King Kong Escapes (King Kong, Gorosaurus, Mechanikong), Space Amoeba (Gezora, Ganimes, Kamoebas), and a one-off of Dogora .
I genuinly want you to talk or make a video about ''Hammond collection'' and ''nanmu'' really want you to review both of them overall ı feel like hammond collections needs same treatment as the one shma is currently getting g theyre both marketed insimilar ways ''premium product'' ''collectors only'' they both have terrible quality control though hammond collection overall clearly makes worse figures compared to shma
While I think Hiya makes superior figures, Monsterarts will always have a special place in my heart. And honestly, I think they should try something else. Maybe instead of screen accurate figures, they should go all in with stylized versions of the characters.
Something that's not mentioned across UA-cam among the Hiya v SHMA discourse is the country of origin for each company. Hiya has some government funding in China that allows them to sell their figures at a borderline at-cost price. Bandai on the other hand has to work with capitalist restrictions in Japan which creates inflated prices. It's just an observation of a specific context that is not used when discussing these figures and their companies.
Holly shit 2 cakes woooo... Eccept those 2 cakes are not free. One cost 2 times more than the other and looks half assed, also the glacing keeps falling from it. It wasn't the best example for this situation really, the 2 cakes things is mostly used for things that are free.
Nope. I've not seen what STR has had to say lately, so anything I've covered here might overlap by coincidence. But I think folks should know that I would address him by name at this point
Hey, Kyle, I just wanted to say I believe you went really too far in your statements in this video. In previous videos you condemned ill-mannered rants from UA-camrs to their viewers but now here we are, watching you do the same thing. As long time subscriber and an active bully & harasser possessing malicious intent for those who don't like the same toys as me, I feel you let me & my kind down. Very disappointing. Very unfortunate.
To summarize:
1. 7 inch or 1/666,6 scale
2. Need to have all kaijus in the selected era/franchise
3. Enough articulation (not a statue nor hyper articulated)
4. Screen-accuracy in both paintjob and sculpts
5. Affordable
6. No exclusives except for heavily stylized looks
7. (Bonus) Fan designs included
Someone give this man a toy company to run!

I’ve considered making a custom figure of my own incarnation of Godzilla at some point in the future so I would KILL for an affordable articulated kaiju figure line that includes fan incarnations
I couldn’t have said that better myself
I swear Necas Godzilla line was reincarnated to become hiyas Godzilla line
Oh yeah, Hiya is NECA+
@@kaijucanuck4492 Toho: We will be removing your license
NECA:will yes, but actually no
NECA isn't even comparable to HIYA, that's an insult to HIYA.
@@imahoare4742 it was a joke
@@imahoare4742 it’s comparable by being a more affordable option but hiya is neca on steroids but still not on the same level of articulation as SH
Lol your reaction was mine at the whole “he’s charging UP his beam”
My reaction almost woke my neighbors when I rewatched that livestream 😂
Canuck coming in with a great mindset. Equating SHMA and Hiya to two cakes is an analogy I wholeheartedly agree with, no constant Hiya vs SHMA or whatever. It's just so refreshing to see in this community at this time.
Hiya feels like a continuation of where NECA left off, very good articulation, sculpt and paintwork for a fair price. I see another comment said basically the same. I'll definitely buy their Millennium Godzilla when it comes.
I know dam well, my kid-self would not have known that was a "charged up" version.
Corporate needs you to find the difference between Charging Version, and Beam Version.
They're the same version.
“charged up version"
......
All I can say about sh monsterarts at this point is, “yare yare, daze"
Yesssss Now i can jave a affordable super articulated Final wars Godzilla
@@timmyhaymore7125 Well, the sculptor designer for Hiya Toys does officially states that Final Wars Godzilla is his favorite Godzilla incarnation like he done for W-Dragon, the same goes for the Millennium Godzilla, so it’ll be a matter of time before Hiya Toys decides to make likewise, a super-affordable Final Wars Godzilla, down the road eventually sooner or later.
Again, do please take it at least a grant of salt though.
@@kaiju-odanny9778 ok
@@timmyhaymore7125 Nah, don’t worry, I’m also excited as you are. However, Hiya Toys doesn’t give us a specific month to announce a Final Wars Godzilla just yet so it’ll be a matter of time though.
@@kaiju-odanny9778 ok thank you
yeah, my dream godzilla figure is an upscale of all of hiyas godzilla figures because like look at the accuracy and details.
In Hiya i trust, but i also hope Bandai gets better, competition is the base for good products.
Hiya is winning.
Hiya has not made a bad figure in their whole Godzilla line.
Hiya listens to fans when they point out flaws in the sculpt.
People who still say SHMA is better are huffing some serious copium
Thank you for slipping me in to the video! It means a lot that you guys care about this stuff and take your time to address it!
No
SHMA fits right in the Gucci slot for toys, it exists vain individuals who care more for showing off their wealth than having something functional.
That charging part man I died from laughing 🤣
I don’t mind people liking monster arts but they’re insanely overpriced
Hell yeah dude!
(0:08) Priceless lol. 👌😆
Hiya toys and monsterarts co existing only benefits the consumer
1. Choice - if you don’t like one, you have the other as an alternative
Calling Hiya enjoyers broke is also some playground bully type shit
Even after 4 days that 'BUILD A KONG' is in my head😂🤣🤣
They are both winning just hiya has a better reputation
Also you know hiya is winning when Godzilla emails you about hiya Godzilla instead of sh
If its just him charging, they could have at least rerun production on the Super X2 so we can get SOMETHING for a repaint
We starvin for beams and this man is leading the charge for vehicles. God bless you brother
@kaijucanuck4492 I'm begging for more sh monsterarts vehicles.
And am biased cause I want a Super X2 for my main display 😭
Been thinking about making a video proposing "fixes" to some modern monsterarts release.
I like this point of view, I post videos about ‘which is better’ but I preface with we won’t know until we get them in hand and we all win anyways because competition is good. Though I still get a few comments where let’s just say they clearly didn’t watch the video haha
And to answer your question at the end, my dream line is all Godzilla ‘74s. Just every figure is Godzilla ‘74. But give him tons of accessories. A little umbrella, a fanny pack, anything. I just need this okay.
Love your work!
@@kaijucanuck4492 hey man thanks, I love yours as well!
0:27 is all of us. ALL OF US! If it ain't you, then you ain't even real.
Great video especially that intro for me I don’t really have a dream line especially with how good Hiya is, but I seriously feel we need a toy company to make accessory sets that include buildings, cars, etc.
@@ShinyToyRobots huh never though about it, but you have a point, small cities are lacking in the giant monster figure colection community.
To each their own, no ned to shame others for not liking the same stuff
Using charging up as an excuse to not include a beam is crazy 😭🙏
I just need some company to make an articulated 98 Zilla.
Same I like shma because of the articulation but hiya is great too
On the topic of SHMA getting hate for being the only option...well, for Showa designs, today they still are.
I love how SH flat out uses "Its charging" for an excuse for no beam effect🤣
SHMA is my dream Godzilla line, I’m glad they came out when I’m able to afford them because I would have never gotten them as a kid.
Tbh my dream is just a regular 20 dollars a pop articulated Godzilla retail line. Most franchises have this
I'm definitely looking forward to the new shma and hiya figures! I'm definitely looking forward to the shma shimo and evolved godzilla and hiya king ghidorah (1991) and shimo!

@@kaijucanuck4492 fixed it.
Hiya is crushing it, i really cannot wait to see the G2k release.
I agree, in the end of days, people have different taste and even if I'm mad at them for having different taste than me, that is not always going to change their mind, I won't really antagonise people for having different opinion unless they actually can hurt themselves
Hiya Toys Godzilla Figures: Omae wa mo shinde iru
SH Monsterarts: NANI?!?!?!?!
To answer the question at the end of the vid, my dream Godzilla/Kaiju figure line would be a 7-8 inch scale, movie accurate and at least decent articulation. And if it comes with accessories than it would be ok to hike up the price a bit, but don’t price the figure without accessories the same.
SHMA TRADE OFFER
I get: your entire bank account
You get: a slightly recolored variant of a figure you have
My dream line was the old Bandai japan Godzilla toys all the way up to the pink tag era. Now their figures are mostly crappy.
Today its Hiya.
And I mean they tried doing other kaijus that are not a part of Godzilla, maybe not ultraman but still
I 100% agree...I don't know why, but i'm excited for both MA Shimo and SK. For Shimo I think it's the high white/pearlescent combo.

Competition does matter and that is true for both companies to strive to be their very best and that's good for customer and for everyone
My dream godzilla line would be figures that not surpass $150 and they don’t release joints on your hands (Ejem Ghidorah ‘19 sh ejem)
I really love the sh figurarts when we talk about not legendary figures, I have a lot of them but they’re starting to increase prices…
I love hiya Legendary, because they’re taller than sh ones (mostly accurate measures something I love on figures)
I want something like Mafex Hush Batman, in the sense it's a definite figure that can fill in as a centre piece ( not scale wise but the ultimate version)
Additionally yeah the fucking conversations around Hiya vs Monsterarts figures in the past year and half have been fucking exhausting. So many shit talks and complete dismissal of many fantastic releases. I procure both when I can because you get a great product from both ends. People are too dogmatic these days especially around fucking toylines, it's not the PVC Civil War for "insert IP like here", they're as you said,
FUCKING TOYS.
My dream Godzilla line is the one that gets me an articulated set of Super Godzilla and Bagan
I think I might cancel my orders from bbts to inshobby just to get the stuff from Hiya faster
if neca still had the licence in i would love more from the 24 inch line like a 1968 godzilla or a gmk in genral i would like bigger figures similar to the k/k/k godzilla with leds (sorry idk the name of the ks)
I cannot like both companies without getting flamed 😭
Sure for same figures most of the time I’ll go with hiya because of affordability but in some cases like Kong I like shmas Kong more just because it’s more posable and smaller I prefer Kong to be smaller and also Showa stuff because shma has the license to Showa while hiya doesn’t so I’ll gladly sell my kidney for a good articulated Showa figure but for heisei, MV, and millenium I’ll just stuck with hiya because well affordability it’s just much cheaper than paying lets use sdcc 89 for example and ik hiya doesn’t have an 89 but 91 is the closest in this case I’d rather pay 51 dollars for a larger, cheaper, and cooler looking in my opinion plus he comes with a beam unlike the 100 dollar shma one which doesn’t
But atleast there’s options to choose from, If you want a more 6 inch scale with better range of articulation and amazing detail go with shma if you want a cheaper alternative that’s 7 inch scale and really good articulation and detail go with hiya this year has been a gold mine for Godzilla collectors or collectors as a whole.
That fnaf jump scare was very fitting for the image you used. 😂
for me its literally just down to price, im poor cant afford to spend an arm and a leg on shma. though the monsterverse godzilla shma is the only one where id say even if shma was cheaper id still buy the hiya just because the head is so ugly on the shma to me at least.
this is my new reference video for anyone i know that's under the impression that you're a monsterarts shill lol i really don't have anything to add to what you've said here. you hit the nail on the coffin.
Bookmark that shit bro lmao
Xplus 30cm line is my favorite
I'm happy with my neca godzilla 1962...that's my boy....neca rodan however...........
Something with the quality of Marvel legends
Where can I watch the stream at the beginning it seems super interesting but I can’t seem to find any links to it?
Figuremania Show!
My dream figure is hiya toys shin godzilla
I genuinly want you to talk or make a video about ''Hammond collection'' and ''nanmu'' really want you to review both of them overall ı feel like hammond collections needs same treatment as the one shma is currently getting g theyre both marketed insimilar ways ''premium product'' ''collectors only'' they both have terrible quality control though hammond collection overall clearly makes worse figures compared to shma
I don't collect dinosaur figures, so I would feel like a huge grifter talking about products I know nothing about.
@@kaijucanuck4492 I thought you were gonna get the v rex figure
PREACH!!!
While I think Hiya makes superior figures, Monsterarts will always have a special place in my heart. And honestly, I think they should try something else. Maybe instead of screen accurate figures, they should go all in with stylized versions of the characters.
Very true and well said, KaijuCanuck.
I found out that Sh monsterarts (might) be meaning a Godzilla Mins one heat ray Variant with get is, AN ATOMIC BREATH AND THE SHINDEN!!!
*Minus
Oh, and I forgot to add that I have been wanting A heat ray Minus one hour a hell of a long time. (Like 8 months)
for not hour is what I meant
Oh man, I like this more firey side of you. :P
Where... did you get that hat...
Godzilla Store!
I have spoken about this in videos specific to the topic, to be told I am making excuses for Bandai 🙃
Tell me you're talking about Steven without saying you're talking about Steven
I'm not talking about Steven.
@@kaijucanuck4492 oh
Holly shit 2 cakes woooo...
Eccept those 2 cakes are not free. One cost 2 times more than the other and looks half assed, also the glacing keeps falling from it.
It wasn't the best example for this situation really, the 2 cakes things is mostly used for things that are free.
I disagree with you.
@@kaijucanuck4492 nice.
Sh is going downhill with this one 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
STR sneak diss?😂
Edit: I'm an idiot
