Mamuro Nagano's Five Star Story Designs!

Who doesn't love big books full of unique character designs and overtly fancy mechs? Well I certainly do.
Nagano was one of the first names in the mech design scene I can really remember being able to identify, but that's also partly from growing up with that era of Japanese hobby mags (and some of the English ones as well) having his designs front and center.
I can always respect an artist who sticks with his personal works for decades and decades, whether there's a huge market for it or not- that's dedication (and possibly a bit of insanity, but that just makes it all better, right?).

ever since I saw the trailer for Five Star Stories decades ago; I'd loved the OVA. I know of FFS through gears online and wow; the temptation to run a TTRPG based off of FFS.

I"ve been curious about Five Star Stories ever since I first read Hobby Japan. I've got a few of the recent model kits but never did watch the anime or read the books or engage with it beyond staring at some pictures and imagining what it all might have been about.

it's really cool but in the usa the ova and manga are hard to find physically and are expensive.
