I love this group. Three of my aunties and two of my uncles all have been huge fans of theirs since the jump. Two of my aunties always would play this song all the time when I'd visit them. So I started listening to them and when my voice changed and i started singing i started trying to sing to their stuff, especially Alvin and Cedric's parts because my voice is super deep. I learned harmony too and though I never wanted to join a group I'd often jam with this trio of brothas in my hood who would always sing their stuff. They were my aunties and uncles ages and they tried to get me to join them as their bass and low baritone singer but I told them no cuz I'd rather be a regular teen and go after girls and whatnot, even though singing with them was really fun. Even when they picked up another guy and started touring throughout the state at churches and parish functions, they still wanted me to come in as their bass singer and I still said no. It was tempting though cuz we sounded good together. That 4th guy they picked up was incredible too. He can sing low like Alvin but high as Claude with incredible vocal control. Kinda like Brian McKnight I guess is a close comparison, except the dude was stocky, not built like him lol. Thanks for the memories, Take 6!
Alvin may be the best bass I’ve ever heard. So good. I’ve followed this group for 35 years and I can honestly say they sound better than ever
We wholeheartedly agreee! 🙌🙌🙌
So heavenly ✨ ❤🥰
Eric Hollaway is a beast, too.
