That expression on that Foxes face was priceless.
Brilliant blog yet again Simon, I could literally sit here all night watching your videos, but the wife wouldn't be happy lol 😆
Thanks Mark that's really nice of you to say. 🙂
Another beautiful video Simon. The best shot I've had of a Muntjac was it's rear end as it ran from me, like you I find Foxes amazing. I'm lucky enough to have them all around me in London and I'll often spend an hour just watching them interact.
Thanks Paul, really appreciate that. I must get out more again but situation has been difficult recently. Thanks again and I wish I could see more foxes near me.
Another great video Simon! Loving the channel-keep it up 👍🏻

Hi Simon. Back with another quality production. The tilted head of the fox being all inquisitive makes it a stand out image yet again. Beautiful deer to. Have you been to Woodwalton Fen? Down the road from me but not sure for you. Chinese Water Deer and Marsh Harriers!! Best Regards!
Thank you David. I'm very pleased you enjoyed the video. Yes I know about Woodwalton Fen. It's my wife's favourite place and about 30 mins from me so not far..

Thank you John, that's really appreciated 👍
Hi Simon it's great to see you back and it was a good watch with some lovely images. Fully understand that sometimes life gets in the way so please don't feel pressured into putting content out there good things come to those that wait as they say. Until next time take care and stay safe.
Thanks Clive. Glad you liked it..
Really stunning video Simon. Good to see you out and about again. Can’t wait to see the post processing video your images always seem so natural. Keep them coming 😊
Thanks Ben. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment.
Great video, so great to see that fox🦊
Thanks Luke. Yes, I wasn't expecting him to turn up. All the best..
Hey Simon! Great video... I gotta say the Fox was my favorite, the body movements and the way it was checking you out was very cool. He was wondering why that human was wearing such funny looking clothes. Beautiful footge and still photos! Just awesome. As always... Sayin' hey Greg
Hi Si, Great to see you back 👍
Thanks Paul 👍
Yet again fantastic content, fox blind in one eye? Got to say I think your vids are the best wildlife photography vids on here, even though you have some high end equipment you really do still appeal to us mere mortals, keep them coming.
Thank you very much for the kind words, I'm really pleased you enjoy the videos. Yes I think the fox may blind with a cataract. Although I do have high end gear, of course don't need that to get wonderful images and experiences in nature. The best investment I think is spending as much time out there in the field, learning the habits of the species you want to capture, and applying good field craft to get the image without the animal knowing you're there. Thanks again for the comment.
Lovely video Simon, funny thing I just found out about the muntjacks a few days ago and here you are, posting a video about them!
Beautiful animals, bit harmful towards wildlife I've read, eating birds and etc. But beautiful none the less!
Thanks Andy. That's a bit of a coincidence 🙂 they are beautiful deer so good luck photographing them..
@@SimonWantling it was, we dont have them in sweden 😊
Great to see another video from you Simon, loved seeing the inquisitive fox as well ;) ,..hope your legs on the mend mate, all the best.
Thanks very much. Glad you enjoyed it and yep, leg is all good now. Still healing but a lot better than it was. Cheers...
Sorry to hear you gashed you’re leg , keep an eye on it , make sure you avoid any sepsis , or infection . Stay well
Thank you. It's all good now thanks. Just last little bit to heal but all good. 👍
Simon Wantling that’s good , sometimes you hear about these things , but glad it’s all good.
Great to see you back Simon. What a cracking shot of the Fox ( I love Foxes too). The investment in the Camo certainly paid off. My Mrs took the mick when I bought a Camo jacket from an ex military market stall just before lockdown. She just doesn’t understand what you have to go through to get the shot.
Thanks Gary. Yes my daughter is horrified when I wear mine. 🙂
Good to see you back. Are you tempted by either the R6 or R5?
Welcome back Simon! As a deer hunter I often laugh at my American friends obsessed with different camo patterns and face paints. Especially that deer mainly rely on it's smell and detection of movement. A ghillie suit is taking it one level up! For animals that rely on eyesight like birds, sure, but for deer it feels a little bit pointless. What are your thoughts on this Simon? Am I missing something? Thanks and all the best! Looking forward to your post-processing tutorials!
Nice to see you back Simon. Can I ask what bag you use?
Thanks. Sure, I'm using the Gitzo Adventury 45L backpack.
What tripod are you on there Simon? Great vid mate
Glad to see you back. How do you take the still images, are they from the video footage or do you switch to still shooting? Thanks, Rich.
Thanks Richard, no I switch between video and stills. On most cameras you can get a custom mode and just switch between the two. Thanks
Thanks Simon, that’s what I thought but was just checking. I am looking forward to your video on how you set your camera up for recording video as this is something I want to get into and I am just trying to understand the different options. All the best, Rich.
I probably see a Muntjac every day living in Norfolk the last 2 years. In fact I don't even bother to photograph them anymore 😂
I had to buy my own suit though 🤔😁
What's best for winter...realtree edge or realtree timber?
Nice 3d camo. How is the strenght of the mesh camo In such environment? I see that the price is similar to the one Deerhunter 3d camo
Thanks Thomas. It's pretty good actually. Ive had other suits which rip easily but this one from Tragopan is good. I use their products a lot.
@@SimonWantling thanks for the comment. I ordered 3d suit with some camera 3d camo. Hope I will be able to test In the 2nd half of April 🙂
I always have problems taking photos, or even just observing animal especially deer , they seem to always know I’m there , the only deer I’ve photographed are the ones in Richmond and bushy parks , but that’s hardly fair. How did you stay so still without spooking them ?
Hi. The camouflage suits or hides help a lot with this especially hides as you can move around inside them without the wildlife seeing you. Suits and camouflage blankets are a little harder because as you say it's hard to keep still for a long time but it can be done with practise. I often get cramped up and have to move or stretch out especially as I've got older but there's worse places to be 👍
What camera bag are using to carry the 600mm? Thanks
Hi Mark, it's the Gitzo Adventury 45L. I have a full review video coming out next week on it as it's a question I've been asked quite a few times. 👍
u have to cmoo ur hannnds and face is very important. Very nice images
