Btw! If you want to make a 3D dragon as smooth as possible, I suggest you to make the design your base! Like that, the forehead front ect would look a lot smoother. Same with the bottom jaw- like that, you can do whatever shape you want! I hope this helps >:3 (some people may prefer the original and simple base which in my opinion is much easier lol, some people may prefer what I just say! It doesnt matter as long as you like your way^^) Also, if you do foreheads for your dragons, it'll take much shorter!❤️✨ !THIS IS ONLY AN ADVICE!
I sadly still haven’t figured that style out yet 😅 but hey we’ll see! I experiment with origami all the time so hopefully I can get the hang of it. Thanks for the tips! 💕

The bottom jaw was really tricky tho because I didn’t covered the edge of it, so it kinda messed up 😅 but overall that, the base turned out pretty good tbh! :D So you can check it out if you want! But just a reminder: you don’t have to use it! Choose your own good way! Who knows how many ways there are out there lol 🫶
I just make two triangles add big flaps, cut it out, fold the flaps, same with the other one but a little smaller, tape it together, done. I have made a base.
I do cardboard bases, cut out a triangle, cut out one slightly smaller, cut out strips, fold in half and put on the triangles, cut out little rectangles and stick on top of each, and finally stick together
Just a tiny tip when drawing the triangles on the paper, instead of using two, i just fold a piece of paper so both of them come out on one sheet! You don't have to use this, but i find it helpful

Then, today, I was struggling to visualize the 3d version of a character design, and had no clay or anything lying around and thought "you know what? Why should I think I'm too old for this?" And I'm now in the process of creating my first puppet lmao
One time, my art teacher saw me and sme friends playing with dragon puppets, so the next day when we had art, we all made dragon puppets for class! This was the exact base making technique thr class used :D
They don’t but I will 1.draw your design (don’t steal and make one for the bottom and top!) 2.then cut the design out! (either tape or glue the designs on) 3. Now do the other side if needed. (If you want a different emotion on the other side than that works too.) And boom! You have yourself a good looking dragon puppet!

Tip: when you're tracing the triangles, fold the paper in half (so it's not long) and then trace it. It saves a lot of time!

You draw it, color it, and cut it out. Then u tape or glue onto the base!
