My neighbourhood. It's quiet there. You know, having lived in Singapore for 13 years, I'm still confused why it takes years to install an elevator in Toronto.
Good morning Johnny! Great subway ride and tour around Glencairn station and Lawrence West station. I’ve done videos of those 2 stations before on my UA-cam channel. Happy Friday and stay safe today!!
Always good to see locations that are different. Not just Younge & Dundas and surrounding areas over and over. Great to see people venture out further. Thanks again for another great video
My home station, even though I would sometimes walk at least eight minutes to Eglinton West station....it's fairly close to Glencairn. I wouldn't really say this subway station is odd, living right next to it and obviously using it a million times, it's always been a pretty station because of its late 1970s design and the recently completed skylights which adds a stunning touch to the station. Glen Park is the actual name of the neighbourhood this station is in. Gonna elaborate here as a local, it's a low-density and middle-class neighbourhood, true but the cluster of residential buildings serves the station's purpose. They were built less than a decade before the subway was even built.
I have found this station quite useful for pickup when northbound by car (out of the city) with friends ... access from the street is fast and easy without a lot of traffic. Also - there are quite good walking possibilities parallel to the Allen Road on the east side, especially in spring/summer.
is not odd at all, it will be a high density neighbourhood soon with all the new developments on Marlee Ave. Now, think about this: on the Yonge line there is Davisville station ib between St. Clair and Eglinton and no station between Eglinton and Lawrence while on the Spadina line is the opposite; Glencairn is between Eglinton West and Lawrence West and there is no station between Eglinton West and Saint Clair West because of the ravine in forest hill. Fun fact, both stretches, EW-SCW and Eg-La are the largest on L1 prior the Vaughan extension. Cheers.
Love these videos Johnny. It would be great to see more videos of some quirky areas in Toronto. Take care of yourself while filming inside a subway car. It's sad to hear everyday some incident or the other happening in our subways. some people just need an excuse to blow off and a camera in the subway car might just antagonize them
Hiya Johnny, It sounds like there's a big Scottish influence in Canada, like Glencairn station, The County I live in was (from 1974 to 2023) called Cumbria, its changing back to Cumberland in March this year, I've spotted theirs a Cumberland in Toronto, please could you do a vlog on that road, it was nice You said "thankyou" as you were going into the subway station, her coming out said nothing, ignorant, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England
3 years to put in a few elevators at a non-busy TTC station. If that isn't the perfect example of bureaucratic, inefficient, lazy Toronto construction, I don't know what is. It's borderline criminal.

Nice breakdown, appreciate that.
My station too! Lived in this area all my life, and I like that this station is quite, never busy. Multiple exits.

I have lived in this place for only two months as a home stay. Really love the atmosphere around here.
Nice subway ride Johnny
Nice video, amazing Walking tour in Toronto ❤️
I used to go to this station all the time, very strange little station but proved useful for me

I remember ending up at a non-accessible station. I was trapped for half an hour until a staff member could help me up the stairs.
Wow, I would not come out from the Glencairn Station. The street outside the Glencairn Station is so quiet.
Excellent Video Appreciated Your Points ↖️ Of view 🙂👍

There hasn't been a collector there in over 20 years... Who remembers the jail cage turnstile ?? Pre presto .
Next time, bring me a beer.
Why hallways are that narrow? Or maybe it's just the camera lens make it to look narrow
Do u enter the secret tunnel at lawrence west?
Very nice! Does line 1 use CBTC signalling system?
It does, CBTC was fully installed on the entirety of Line 1 two months ago!
