You know it’s bad when the Boks took the starting front-row off because they felt bad, only for the *BOMB SQUAD* to continue the carnage right off the bench
Mtawarira had Dan Cole on toast in the final after Sinckler’s injury. Shame we didn’t have an Adam Jones to call on like in the Lions tour when the beast did a similar job on Phil Vickery.
Hey all, I'm new to Rugby, so I'm trying to watch as much as I can to understand it. One thing I don't understand is why during a scrum, some players are hitting (or smacking/chopping) other players arms? I'd like to understand what's the point of it? Is it frustration? Trying to stop the other player from holding on? Thanks for helping me understand this wonderful and awesome sport!
You have to touch to set up the scrum and bind to your opponent, I played prop and a dirty trick everyone uses is to pull down on your opponent's shoulder to destabilise him, this often results in slapping lol.

Well, bit of a late reply but if you're a prop you often hold on to the opposition flankers to stop them breaking off once the ball is out. Slows them up a bit and can give your backs a bit more space, but obviously they don't like it and walloping the prop's arm is one way to persuade the prop to let go.
@@anguilini1363 past glories, my friend. Argentina have had some monster scrums in the past, but your current pack won't enjoy 80 mins against the Boks.
Jamie George loses his right bind and Cole turns down and inward, nothing left for Marx to scrum against! (A south african’s interpretation of it anyway hahah, scrums can be a lottery)
I have to give Eddie Jones credit for not going for the uncontested scrum route (like the Italians did) when he had the opportunity. England could've won if he did but the victory would've been hollow.
@@Scunsun no but you have to agree losing an inform Sinckler that early did make an impact. Almost all scrums resulted in penalties and points which would've been different if the scrums was uncontested. Anyway I am South African and Im just glad Jones didnt do what Italy clearly did (Maler could've faked an injury). That rule for uncontested scrums need to be reevaluated.
Yes but we had enough quality to keep up the intensity. Dan Cole played little rugby when he had to replace Sinckler and it showed (that bald head sticking up everytime under pressure). I almost felt sorry for them. Im just glad it didn't go to uncontested scrums because South Africa would've looked like Thor fighting without access to his hammer. The Italian game was a no contest but they should really not be able to do that, that is actually what I'm trying to get at.
SA world cup final - complete one-off performance. Granted - if you're going to pull a rabbit out of the hat - then you want to do it at the final. Not salty - they won fair and square but they played nobody of note in their jog to the final. England on the other hand....just a bridge too far on the day. If they had to play SA now (or then) in a series - you wouldn't put your krugerands on SA to win it (objectively speaking of course). That said - for sheer freakish ability SA's winger does things that shouldn't be possible and their scrum half for my mind is world class. Oh - and Louw is a legend of the game. Coach ain't bad too.. they're a good outfit - just not consistently world class like the ABs or England.

South Africa's World Cup pack, both scrums, were epic...legendary.
That and England's scrum mauling the Aussie teletubbies in 2007. Great memories.
South African scrum was the best scrum I've seen in a long time
Just here for the South African scrum EATING England, over and over again ;)
Me too
Lekker!
Was half expecting the highlights from the 2019 final
South african scrums is one of the best🇿🇦🇿🇦👑
The scrums you saw from the boks mostly were before the Bomb squad came in .When the bomb squad came in ,it became a massacre
As a South African that used to play 5 7 and 8 I rejoice in these highlights and shout out to those Canadian women impressed
As a South African living in Canada, this is the best comment ;)

Lol.. the bomb squad was not any weaker than the starters. It was part of the strategy!
Scrum is fun 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
That is why Japan took to the sport like crazy. They promoted it as if it was sumo wresting involving 16 men!
I would think the Scrum between Australia and Fiji during the 2015 RWC should be here.

You forgot Steven Kitskoff
1:01 those two flankers started going at it lol
georgian scrum is the best, without doubt
The Aussies has come long way from being bullied in the scrum against England RWC 2003 . They have definitely improved .
My favourite scrum in my opinion is Australia against Fiji in 2015
No one is going to talk about the Canadian women? Hats off from South Africa
